Chapter 17 - sugar

How unlike sugar, how bitter the taste—

When you held my heart, I thought it'd never go to waste.

You whispered sweet words, a world wrapped in lies;

I chased fleeting shadows, lost in your disguise.

As I fixed your eyes, like stars in the night,

I learned that love is more than the thrill of a fight.

You thought I was her, your heart's endless game,

But the towers you built all crumbled in shame.

Watch as your tower falls, the walls come undone;

With every lie exposed, there's nowhere to run.

I won't let your name spoil the beauty I find—

Double, double vision, you're lost in your mind.

You thought you were bold, but beneath all the force

Was a fragile facade, a heart with no course.

Now I dance through the wreckage, reclaiming my space;

In the ashes of dreams, I'm finding my grace.

As I fixed your eyes, the horizon went wide;

With open eyes, I'll no longer abide.

Your bitter truths tasted like silver in rain,

But I'm breaking free, won't live with your pain.

Watch as your tower falls, the walls come undone;

With every lie exposed, there's nowhere to run.

I won't let your name spoil the beauty I find—

Double, double vision, you're lost in your mind.

It's pig Latin for now, we're lost in translation,

But I'm rising, I'm learning through every sensation.

The world may seem heavy, a tumultuous sea,

Yet I'll navigate through, reclaiming me.

And when the dawn breaks with whispered goodbyes,

I'll remember your laughter and all of your lies.

I'll sing of my truth, let the harmony swell—

A chorus of courage, just breaking the spell.

Watch as your tower falls, the walls come undone;

With every lie exposed, there's nowhere to run.

I won't let your name spoil the beauty I find—

Double, double vision, you're lost in your mind.

In the silence that follows, I'll rise like the sun,

With the weight of your shadows finally undone.

I'll breathe in the grace, let my spirit run free—

With open eyes, this new world belongs to me.
