Chapter 166 - A family of four

Roy doesn't remember when she fell asleep.

Upon waking, the curtains already let in a hazy morning light. Her stomach felt warm, and reaching down, she touched the slightly soft texture of a bat wing. Sebatide Hughes was snuggled closely against her, sleeping soundly; his woolly head lay against her neck hollow, with the right wing covering the bed and the left hanging askew off the edge.

Sermias wasn't in the room. Roy lay with her eyes open for about ten minutes, hearing the sound of the door being pushed. The Elf came in with milk and bread, placed them on the bedside table, and nodded at her.

"Morning, you should get up."

He had his hair in a high ponytail, and when he approached, Roy caught the warm scent of wheat.

"I didn't see you last night."

She brushed away Sebatide Hughes' bat wing, pressing her temples as she sat up, "Where did you go?"
