The tightly bound red line suddenly vanished.
Roy slid to the ground, supporting herself as she coughed hoarsely. The remnants of her tears landed on the back of her hand, reminding her of the reality of survival.
A handkerchief was handed over.
"Wipe it."
Kara squatted beside her, speaking with a smile, "Such a beautiful child, it's truly heartbreaking to see you cry."
Roy took the handkerchief, thanking her while vigorously wiping her eyes. She knew that the other party wasn't changing their mind because of her face. Perhaps one of her words had pleased her, or maybe...
Maybe it was simply because Kara was capricious.
Who knows?
This Kara before her was unfamiliar and dangerous.
More importantly, powerful.
Far more powerful than Roy.
"Mrs. Peggy."
Roy looked at Kara, "Can I become your student?"
"Sure."
An easy answer.
Roy gripped the handkerchief tightly.
"Thank you."
