Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 13 – INTERROGATION ROOM – BUREAU – NIGHT

INTERROGATION ROOM – BUREAU – NIGHT

Location: Sub-level Interrogation Room, Hunter bureau

Reina watches the surveillance screen

The room Tense and sterile – like a ticking bomb wrapped in silence.

[IN THE INTERROGATION ROOM – NIGHT]

The room is minimal—white walls, a single metal table bolted to the floor, and a light that buzzes faintly above. On one side, Arvan sits alone, head lowered, fingers tapping restlessly against the cold metal. The sleeves of his hunter-issued jacket are stained with dried oil

He hasn't spoken in hours.

A door hisses open.

Rigved walks in.

Not in uniform, not in Bureau attire—just black, casual, and quietly imposing. He doesn't sit immediately. Instead, he circles the room like a beast sizing up its prey.

ARVAN

(low, without looking up)

"Why did you guys bring me here."

RIGVED

(smirking slightly)

"I dont really have to answer that question."

He finally sits across Arvan and places a small black cube onto the table. It clicks softly—recording.

RIGVED

"Let's skip the paperwork, Arvan. You walked out the testing emulator after destroying not just your own testing site but also many other sites and up to six other hunters have also been severy injured. You didn't just walk out—you vaporized half the interior. Walls melted. Shadows burned."

Arvan finally looks up. His eyes are bloodshot. Haunted.

ARVAN

"I didn't do anything."

RIGVED

(leaning forward)

"No. You didn't."

(a beat)

"But something inside you did."

Arvan clenches his fists. His breathing grows shallow.

ARVAN (inner thoughts)

Don't say it. Don't say his name. If I don't acknowledge it, maybe he'll stay quiet—

A faint whisper slithers through his ears.

RĀVAṆA (voice, smug and low)

"He smells it. Fear… curiosity… and guilt. I like this one. Let me out. I'll peel his soul like fruit."

Arvan flinches.

Rigved watches. Measures. Waits.

RIGVED

"What did you see in there?"

ARVAN

(firmly)

"I told you. I blacked out. It was dark. I don't remember."

Rigved stands, slowly walking behind Arvan.

RIGVED

"I've seen soldiers lie. Spies bluff. Even gods beg."

(pauses)

"But you… you're trying to convince yourself more than me."

Suddenly, the light above flickers.

A subtle shadow ripples from Arvan's chair—not cast by the light, but crawling up toward it.

Rigved stops.

He watches it. Doesn't move. Doesn't panic.

Instead, he speaks softly, deliberately.

RIGVED

"Who are you?"

Arvan opens his mouth—shakes his head.

ARVAN (barely audible)

"I don't know anymore."

RĀVAṆA

"That's a lie. Say it. SAY. MY. NAME."

The lights explode.

A gust of black smoke erupts from Arvan's back like a wing unfurling.

Surveillance Room – Above

Reina Vārsha, still watching, jolts upright.

REINA

"Emergency protocols. NOW!"

Back below—

The darkness retracts just as fast.

Arvan collapses against the table, coughing violently. When he looks up again, his voice is broken.

ARVAN (quietly, defeated)

"Something's wrong with me."

Rigved stands in silence.

Then he exhales and walks toward the door.

RIGVED

"We'll find out what."

He stops, glancing back one last time.

RIGVED (flatly)

"But if something ancient is hiding inside you, kid… you better pray you're still the one in control when it wakes up."

A FOREIGN GUILD HQ – ROME, ITALY – SAME NIGHT

In a marble-drenched hall lit by golden torches, a gathering of the global guild "LUX VINDICTA" is in session. Their focus? A blurred file from India.

LUCIANO GRANT – Guild Leader, SS-Rank, 'Sun-Kissed Executioner'

"This aura… I've seen it before. Only once. A temple in Sri Lanka. Symbols etched in gold and ash. The name they chanted… Rāvaṇa."

VICE LEADER "You think he's… back?"

LUCIANO (eyes burning) "I think someone should reach him before the Indians know what they have."

BUREAU OBSERVATION ROOM – NIGHT

Rigved peers through a transparent monitor. Beside him is a former Guild Captain turned Bureau Advisor—gray-haired, missing an arm, but gaze sharp as ever.

ADVISOR "Do you really think that kid is a threat?"

RIGVED "No. I think he's a loaded weapon in the hands of something we can't see."

ADVISOR (low voice)

"Then you better figure out what that something is. Before someone else "

DUNGEON INVASION – UNKNOWN LOCATION

A dungeon opens without warning. Inside: scorched stone, black skies, and a shrine bearing the symbol of a ten-headed crown. A squad of hunters screams as they're wiped out by something invisible. One final frame as the last man sees… a shadow with ten shifting faces and a voice like thunder:

???:"This world… forgot me."
