Sure enough, as soon as Mr. Mo said those words, many people started to get a bit nervous. After all, getting caught cheating in this monthly exam and being publicly criticized would make their family the focus of the parent meeting. How could they not be afraid?
However, though scared, they still held onto a sliver of hope. They thought, if they could sneak a peek, they would; if not, they would give up.
Soon, the sound of the exam bell rang, and with the distribution of the test papers by the monitoring teacher, everyone started scribbling away. Regular exams were not as strict as college entrance exams; once the papers were handed out, you could start writing.
As expected, the test wasn't as hard as everyone imagined. Many of the questions were easy; it was just the desire to score better.
