Chapter 238 - minato 236

The western wall had already fallen.

Flames roared across the outer districts as Fugaku Uchiha's forces pushed deeper into the capital.

The air itself had become a weapon. From the shattered parapets, two of his elite shinobi completed their seals in perfect sync.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball!"

"Wind Style: Wind Breakthrough!"

The massive sphere of roaring flame met the howling gale head-on.

The wind didn't just fuel the fire — it twisted it into a colossal, spiraling tornado of living inferno. The temperature in the air spiked violently.

Wooden homes ignited instantly. Stone cracked and blackened. The tornado screamed as it tore through the streets, sucking in debris, bodies, and screaming civilians alike.

Fugaku stood on the broken wall, Sharingan spinning, watching the chaos with cold satisfaction.

"They're trying to fall back," he called out, voice cutting through the roar. "Don't let them regroup! Kill them all!"

His men surged forward with renewed bloodlust. The Royal Guards who had held the wall were breaking. Their formation had shattered under the relentless assault.

Some tried to retreat toward the inner districts, dragging wounded comrades. Others stood their ground out of sheer desperation, only to be cut down.

A young Royal Guard, no older than twenty, stood over the body of his fallen captain. His hands shook as he formed a seal.

"Water Style: Water Wall!"

A barrier of water rose, but Fugaku's wind blades from earlier had already done their work. Two of Fugaku's men flanked him from the sides.

One drove a kunai into his ribs while the other slashed his throat open. The young guard gurgled, eyes wide with terror, before collapsing into the growing pool of blood. His last thought was of his wife and infant son waiting in the inner city.

Fugaku didn't even glance at the corpse.

Good, he thought. Their will is broken. The wall is ours.

Civilian casualties mounted by the second.

A mother clutching her two small children tried to flee down a narrow alley as the fire tornado swept past. The flames caught her dress. She screamed, trying to shield her children with her body, but the wind-driven fire consumed them all in seconds. Their charred remains were left twisted in the street as rebel shinobi ran past without a second glance.

An old merchant, caught between two clashing groups, was impaled by a stray kunai meant for a guard. He died clutching the coins he had tried to save from his burning shop.

The revolution was no longer just about power.

It was slaughter.

Suddenly, from the inner side of the breached wall, a powerful voice boomed across the battlefield, laced with chakra that made the air itself vibrate.

"Water Style: Water Fountain!"

A massive geyser of water erupted upward, colliding with the raging fire tornado. At the same moment, another voice rang out.

"Wind Style: Great Tornado!"

The two techniques combined. The water doused the flames while the wind dispersed the superheated air. Steam exploded outward in a thick, blinding cloud. The temperature plummeted.

The fire tornado collapsed into harmless mist.

The earth beneath the point of impact cracked and crumbled as a single figure landed in a crouch. Dust and steam swirled around him.

Fugaku's Sharingan locked onto the newcomer instantly.

The Supreme Commander.

The old man rose slowly, sword already in hand, his aura cutting through the chaos like a blade. His eyes burned with fury and authority. Around him, a squad of elite Royal Guards formed up, their faces grim but determined.

Fugaku's lips curled into a predatory smile.

So the old lion finally shows himself. Killing him will multiply my rewards tenfold when I report to Minato.

The Supreme Commander's voice rang out again, amplified by chakra so that every fighter on the wall could hear him clearly.

"Have the people of the Leaf Village gone mad? Do you understand the consequences of what you are doing here today?"

Fugaku stepped forward, his voice calm and laced with mockery.

"You don't need to concern yourself with the Leaf Village's future. You should be worrying about your own… and that of your precious

Daimyo."

The Supreme Commander's grip tightened on his sword.

"Even if you succeed here, the other great nations will not sit idle. They will strike while the Land of Fire is divided and weakened. You will gain nothing but ashes. The entire country will bleed because of your arrogance!"

Fugaku's expression darkened with ideological fire.

"The time for your reasoning is over, old man. For too long, nobles and Daimyo have sat in their palaces while shinobi bled and died for scraps. That era ends today. From now on, we will rule. The nobles and commoners will serve us. This should have happened years ago."

The Supreme Commander spat on the ground.

"You bastard."

He raised his sword, chakra flaring around the blade.

"Then prepare to die."

Fugaku's smile widened.

"Those should be my words."

He raised one hand.

"Attack."

From the rooftops and broken sections of the wall, dozens of his shinobi completed their seals at once.

"Wind Style: Wind Breakthrough!"

"Fire Style: Great Fireball!"

"Wind Style: Wind Arrow!"

"Fire Style: Fire Furnace!"

A storm of combined jutsu screamed toward the Supreme Commander and his guards. Massive fireballs twisted with razor winds.

Arrows of compressed air whistled through the steam. A massive furnace of flame rolled forward like a living beast.

The Supreme Commander didn't flinch.

His hands blurred through seals at incredible speed.

"Water Style: Water Dragon!"

Water from the earlier geyser and the surrounding mist rose and coiled into a massive serpentine dragon. He didn't stop there.

"Wind Style: Wind Dragon!"

The two dragons merged mid-air into a colossal beast of water and wind. It slammed into the incoming barrage with devastating force.

Fire and water collided in an explosion of steam. The shockwave rippled outward, shattering nearby windows and sending debris flying. The entire street vanished in a thick white cloud.

Fugaku's men began coughing and staggering as visibility dropped to almost nothing.

The Supreme Commander's jaw clenched.

He planned this. He knew I would counter with water and wind. The steam blinds my men… but not him. Not with that Sharingan.

Before the steam could fully settle, several of the Supreme Commander's guards completed their own seals.

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!"

Powerful gusts tore through the steam, clearing it in seconds.

Now both sides stood facing each other across the ruined street — weapons drawn, eyes locked, bloodlust thick in the air.

Fugaku's forces had their Sharingan active, the crimson glow intimidating in the haze. The Supreme Commander's guards stood firm despite the odds, loyalty and desperation written on every face.

One young guard near the Supreme Commander gripped his sword tightly, thinking of his wife and newborn back in the inner city. If I die here… at least I bought them time.

A rebel shinobi across from him licked blood from a cut on his lip, eyes burning with years of resentment.

No more serving nobles who treat us like dogs. Today we take what's ours.

Fugaku and the Supreme Commander stepped forward at the same time.

Their swords met in a ringing clash that sent sparks flying.

"This will be your last day alive," the Supreme Commander growled, pressing forward with surprising strength for his age.

Fugaku laughed coldly, pushing back.

"Don't be so sure. I still want to meet that beautiful granddaughter of yours I've heard so much about. I wonder what kind of sounds she'll make once this is over and I have her all to myself."

The Supreme Commander's eyes widened with pure, murderous rage. His chakra flared violently.

"You will die screaming for that."

Fugaku's grin turned vicious.

"If I die, who will keep your daughter warm at night?"

The Supreme Commander roared and attacked with renewed fury, his sword a blur. Around them, the battle exploded back into full violence.

Shinobi clashed in brutal melee while jutsu lit up the street once more. Bodies fell. Blood soaked into the cracked earth. The screams of the wounded mixed with the roar of flames still consuming nearby homes.

In the distance, more of Minato's forces were pouring through the breached walls.

The capital was burning.

And the true war for its soul had only just begun.
