This was an utterly unremarkable jungle planet. Because it lacked any valuable, exploitable resources, it had escaped the clutches of the Empire. Only a few farmers and fishermen lived here, leading peaceful lives.

Amir pierced its atmosphere and flew toward the coordinates Ahsoka had sent him.

From a distance, he spotted a Republic troop transport ship landed on the surface.

He brought the Traveler down beside it and stepped out of the cockpit. It was his first time meeting the people of Gurilegina's tribe.

With not enough safety restraints on the ship, they had to cling to nearby furniture to steady themselves—but it hardly helped. The turbulence left them pale and dizzy.

Rango also climbed out of the gunner's pod.

Amir walked over and patted the Falleen on the shoulder. For once, it felt like all his efforts hadn't been in vain. The people from Coruscant felt like his younger siblings.

"You're hard to kill, kid," Amir laughed. Just seeing Rango safe and sound was enough to make him happy.

"Sorry," Rango said, wearing an apologetic smile. "I really thought I could handle it."

On a whim, Amir raised his right hand and waved it in front of Rango's eyes.

"You owe me ten thousand credits," he said.

"I owe you ten thousand credits," Rango repeated in a daze.

"That's more like it! So no need to apologize," Amir grinned, giving his shoulder another pat before happily opening the Traveler's hatch.

Rango blinked, returning to his senses. He murmured about ten thousand credits under his breath—then suddenly spotted the crate in Chewbacca's hands and his eyes lit up again.

"Kiran! Halatia! Kumapa! You're all alive!" came Gurilegina's elated voice from outside. Her raspy throat nearly gave out from emotion.

"Gurilegina!! I came so close to dying so many times, you've no idea what I've been through!" Kiran cried. "What about Lorrin? He's okay, right?"

"He's fine," Gurilegina said, her eyes slightly reddening.

"And the others? Weren't they with you?" she asked.

"Only a dozen or so of us are here. The rest were put on another ship," Kiran replied.

Not wishing to interrupt their reunion, Amir went straight to find Ahsoka.

"Over here, Amir. We brought the device onto the ship," Ahsoka called from the ramp. Amir rushed up to her.

His nerves were still on edge. He had no idea when that cruiser might reappear.

"What about Veronica? She's not here?" Amir asked.

"She had a mission just before you first called me. She's not back yet. But I've passed on your latest update."

"Hopefully it's not another covert op—she loves throwing bombs into crowds," Amir muttered.

"She is a bit... like that," Ahsoka admitted. "But this time, she's just delivering supplies to a few planets."

They quickly entered the main hall of the ship, where a square medical table stood in the center, surrounded by various complex devices.

"Please lie down," said a medical droid.

Amir lay down with some apprehension.

The scanner whirred to life.

He didn't feel a thing. Before long, the droid reported the scan was complete.

Amir took a deep breath, sat up, and looked at the image of his scanned body on the monitor.

"Your body is in perfect condition, sir," said the droid in its cold mechanical voice.

"Perfect condition?"

Unconvinced, Amir checked it again himself—but still found nothing out of the ordinary.

"Indeed, nothing unusual," Ahsoka said, studying the scan as well. "I've asked Pax to check your ship."

After a pause, she asked, "Are you sure you're being tracked?"

"A cruiser ambushed me twice with perfect timing. That's no coincidence. And I have a hunch—you know, that Force instinct," Amir said, holding his head.

"So... you're a Jedi Padawan now?" Ahsoka asked with a smile.

"Just a student of Master Obi-Wan," Amir replied as he stood up.

At that moment, a young man wearing glasses entered. "Fulcrum, Amir, we didn't find any devices on your ship capable of emitting unidentified signals."

After thinking a moment, Pax continued, "Just in case, I've jammed all signals in this area. If you'd like, I can install a signal-jamming module on your ship. It'll scramble a variety of transmissions, including electromagnetic waves."

Amir nodded. "Thank you, Pax."

With the jammer installed, he probably wouldn't be tracked again. Of course, that meant onboard communications and remote-controlled functions wouldn't work while the device was active.

Still, it was the best option for now.

"I brought this along just in case," Pax said, lifting a square device from the ship. "Its range is enough to fully cover your YT freighter."

"He's in charge of our logistics," Ahsoka added. "Always has everything perfectly prepared."

"Clearly," Amir said with admiration.

"How's Obi-Wan? Life treating him well on Tatooine?"

"He's a Jedi Master—his specialty is enduring and overcoming hardship," Amir joked.

Living off the grid on Tatooine, hiding from the Empire and the Sith, took real perseverance. He'd been watching over Luke for ten years now.

"Hah, not every Jedi Master is like Obi-Wan. So why is he there instead of somewhere... more comfortable?" Ahsoka asked.

"He's never told me—and I've never asked." Amir knew the reason, of course, but Obi-Wan hadn't shared Luke's existence with him.

"You know, when I found out he was alive, I was so happy," Ahsoka said as she stepped off the ship, gazing at Gurilegina reuniting with her people.

"Back then, whenever I meditated, all the presences I used to feel were just... gone. I used to sense them the moment I closed my eyes. I thought I was the only one left."

"There must still be others," Amir followed her. "Like you, they're lying low, biding their time."

"I hope so. Like Master Obi-Wan—already training a new student."

After a moment of silence, Ahsoka said, "You should join us, Amir. We need your help."

In the past, Amir would've refused without hesitation. He just wanted to survive the war and wait for peace.

He knew the war would end in victory. The Empire would fall. Order would be restored.

But now, he hesitated. He might not be able to speed up the process, but perhaps he could save a few more lives from the Empire—or even prevent some tragedies.

"When I've finished my training with Obi-Wan, I'll seriously consider it," Amir replied. He wanted to be able to protect himself first—at the very least... well, go toe-to-toe with Vader.

"The installation's done. The switch is located to the left of the cockpit," Pax reported, walking over from the Traveler.

"Man, I wish I could steal this guy for my crew," Amir thought. With someone like him around, Ahsoka's intelligence group wouldn't have to worry about logistics at all.

"You must be exhausted," Ahsoka said. "Get some sleep. I have something to discuss with you tomorrow."

Every planet had a different time cycle. From morning on Tatooine to now, Amir had been running around all day—and it was still midday here.

Only now did Amir finally feel the weight of his fatigue.

"Alright then... good night."
