The outcome wasn't surprising—Anakin followed his heart. In order to save Padmé, he chose to become Darth Sidious's apprentice.
Unfortunately, his original intentions didn't last long. Under the influence of the dark side, his will was slowly corroded.
Ambition. Desire. Jealousy.
He changed drastically.
Or perhaps... his true nature was simply revealed.
After Order 66 was issued, he led the clone army in hunting down the Jedi. He even stormed the Jedi Temple and slaughtered the younglings.
Obi-Wan, following orders from the Jedi Council, tracked him down with Padmé's help—but Anakin believed the two had betrayed him.
He even used a Force choke on Padmé.
Obi-Wan and Anakin dueled on Mustafar. During that brutal battle, Obi-Wan gradually realized that Anakin was no longer the person he once knew.
In the end, Obi-Wan claimed the high ground and severed Anakin's legs—who had overestimated himself—leaving him to die on the edge of a lava river.
Anakin should have died there, but the Sith Emperor arrived just in time and saved him. However, from that day on, Anakin would live bound to a complex life support system.
Skywalker was gone.
In his place arose Darth Vader—a name that would strike fear across the galaxy.
As for Padmé, she lost the will to live during childbirth. Though her body was completely healthy, she quietly passed away.
Just as Anakin had foreseen in his Force vision.
Padmé left behind a son and a daughter.
Bail Organa, the Viceroy and First Chairman of Alderaan, and his wife had long wished for a daughter. They volunteered to adopt the girl, Leia. Bail would later become one of the leaders of the Rebel Alliance and a key contact for Ahsoka.
Their son, Luke, was taken by Obi-Wan back to Anakin's homeworld of Tatooine, and left in the care of Owen, Anakin's stepbrother from their shared mother.
Obi-Wan, under the alias Ben Kenobi, spent the next ten years living in secret, silently watching over Luke.
Today, Obi-Wan revealed to Amir the true reason he was here—and warned him of the dangers of the dark side.
Amir took that warning to heart.
He vividly remembered how Anakin had changed after falling into the dark side.
Anakin's talent in the Force was beyond question. He had endured the brutality of the Clone Wars and possessed a strong will. But every person harbors hidden fears.
Once he fell to the dark side, those fears became an avalanche of desire and rage. Not even those closest to him could pull him back.
Amir didn't believe he was any stronger than Anakin—and had no intention of testing that.
After finishing his story, Obi-Wan fell silent in thought. After a long pause, he finally said, "But don't let fear of the dark side rule you."
"There is another great Master who still lives. I've continued learning from him myself. One day, you should go visit him. His understanding of the Force is deeper than anyone's."
"His name is Master Yoda."
Amir looked up. "Master Yoda?"
He had long admired the little green Jedi Master who spoke in backward sentences. Though small in stature, Yoda was over 900 years old and had spent centuries studying the Force and training countless Padawans.
Obi-Wan assumed Amir was confused and began explaining further.
"I will go," Amir said after listening.
"You'll learn things from him that I could never teach you."
After a brief rest, Amir resumed his training. Now that he had learned Form III, it was much easier to defend against the training orb's blaster bolts. However, deflecting them remained a challenge.
Deflecting blaster fire was a hallmark of Form V—Anakin and Ahsoka were both masters of it.
Still, Obi-Wan considered it a fundamental skill. All forms should include deflection.
Amir continued practicing like an assembly line—repetitive drills to gradually perfect the direction of his reflected bolts.
And so, several peaceful days passed in a rhythm of training and meditation.
Until one day, during a training session, the backup communicator he had placed at a distance began to ring.
Amir kept his primary comms on his wrist. But since he carried a signal jammer with him, that device was effectively unusable for communication.
So he kept a backup communicator far enough away to stay outside the jammer's range—but still within his line of sight, so he could see if any messages came in.
Of course, this setup meant he couldn't actually take calls. If he got too close, the signal would be disrupted.
And now… someone was trying to call him.
"Oh great… 'Obi-Wan, where are you when I need you?'" Amir muttered, quoting a familiar line as he walked over.
As expected, the call was dropped.
But he could still check who had called.
It was Seyn.
Amir realized that he hadn't contacted her at all since leaving Coruscant.
He typed out a short message explaining that he couldn't take calls at the moment and set it to send on a delay.
Once he left the signal jammer's range, the message was transmitted.
Surprisingly, a reply came almost immediately.
"There's no way that signal reached Coruscant so fast... Don't tell me Seyn's in the Outer Rim?" Amir said aloud, confused as he stepped closer.
Sure enough, a familiar Twi'lek face appeared in a recorded hologram.
"Where are you, Amir? Why aren't you answering your comm? I just finished picking up some parts out here in the Outer Rim, so I figured I'd swing by and check on you. By the way, I'm parked at Landing Pad 34 in Mos Eisley."
Amir smiled.
After sending Seyn a quick message—"Wait for me"—he mounted the bantha he had captured and tamed over the past couple of days.
Under Obi-Wan's guidance, and with Amir's use of the Force to communicate, the already docile creature had quickly become his new local steed.
Once atop the bantha, Amir leisurely began the journey toward Mos Eisley.
It was a long ride, and Amir took the opportunity to browse through his datapad, reviewing the notes and data he had recorded over the past few days.
That was the upside of riding an animal instead of piloting a speeder or a ship—you only needed to give the bantha a general sense of direction. Once it was moving, you were free to focus on your own business rather than constantly watching the road.
Long journeys pass more quickly when you have something to occupy your mind.
Along the way, Amir spotted a group of Tusken Raiders watching from atop a distant sand dune. He gave them a wide berth and took a slight detour.
By the time he reached Mos Eisley, the twin suns were already sinking behind the sand dunes in the distance, painting the desert in hues of gold and crimson.
When he arrived at Landing Pad 34, Amir immediately spotted Seyn sitting at a small street-side stall, chatting idly. Beside him was a crate—no doubt filled with the parts he had come to purchase.
Seyn usually traveled on cargo freighters, only piloting his old freighter ship when he had to visit places not serviced by major routes.
"Beep beep!" came a familiar sound from behind the crate, as BD-4 jumped out and scurried toward Amir.
"Long time no see, BD-4," Amir said, crouching down to pat the droid's cube-shaped head. BD-4 chirped and beeped enthusiastically in return.
"And you too, Seyn." Seyn had spotted Amir by then and came walking over from the stall. Amir greeted him with a smile.
"You're looking good. Did you find what you were looking for?" Seyn asked, patting Amir on the shoulder with his muscular, calloused hand.
"The journey was a bit rocky, but I'd say the results were worth it," Amir replied. Seeing someone so close to him in such a distant, foreign land warmed his heart.
"Come with me, Seyn. I know a place that serves some really good barbecue."
"Haha, I knew you wouldn't miss a chance to chase good food."
"Beep-beep-beep!"
