Chapter 59 - C059 : Expedition (2)

Shurry sat, and waited, tail exposing his inner emotions as he eyed the wall that would spawn his target. He was almost salivating at the thought of it. Hmm? I wonder what it'll look like.

"Hey there, you scared kid?" The half Hume Bunny walked up, then took a seat right next to Shurry. "That boss is the target we're after. It'll be a little more difficult if we can't target the crystal though. Ah but I'm sure we'll be able to manage it." He laughed and then hunched over. "By the way, there's a spring on the 18th floor that the girls use to bathe, and I know the perfect peeping spot. Want me to show you?"

Shurry, still lost in his thoughts on what this Goliath monster will look like, didn't register what the hume bunny was saying, only knowing the words, so when he snapped out of it… "Huh? You want to peep on the girls? What does that mean?"

"Ah! Don't say that so loud."

Meteria sighed, and pulled the half hume bunny by the ear. "Why do you have to be so perverted?! I swear, boys are so weird." She then turned barely controlling the glare at Shurry. "You don't plan on joining him, do you?"

"What does it mean to peep, I don't know it?"

"Wait, seriously?"

"It's how a man shows his love, IT'S ROMANCE!" The half hume bunny took a hammer fist to the top of the head, and then cried out in pain, holding his head.

"And that is?" Shurry asked, still thoroughly confused about what was being talked about just now.

"Oh my, you really don't know about that kind of thing? Well, peeping is when someone spies on someone else while they're bathing." Meteria explained, thinking it wouldn't be harmful for such a pure boy to know before being roped into it.

"Huh? Why do that? Is there some purpose? Does it make you stronger? Tell me, tell me." Shurry emphatically asked, way too curious.

"No, it definitely doesn't make you stronger. It turns you into a sick man. You don't want to be sick do you?"

Shurry shook his head. "No, I don't wanna be like those sick ladies that did that to me. I wanna be strong."

"Then don't be a peeper. You should never see a woman bathing."

Shurry instantly grew scared, and sad. "Does… Does that mean I can't bathe with my mommy anymore too?" He almost cried.

"Huh? No, I don't think that counts."

"Yay! I like spending time with mommy!"

While the younger kids were doing their playing around during the break, the adults couldn't help but giggle at the interactions. Some of them were holding their sides like their guts were about to spill out of them, others were just lightly chuckling along. All until Maxim called for the rest to end.

"Alright, that's enough rest for now. Prepare yourselves, the monster rex is about to appear again. Meteria, Shurry, and the bunny perv are going to lead the assault. If things get dicey-"

"I'll intervene-" One level 5 said.

"So will I-" A level 6 added.

"Good, I doubt it'll need my attention, but if you do intervene, do not destroy the stone. Remember this isn't just to help Shurry grow stronger, it's also so he can fully heal Alfia, and Meteria. This is our god's orders, we must carry it out. Later on we can try other stones."

"Got it, captain."

"Understood, Captain Maxim."

"Shurry, Meteria, pervy bunny, are you ready?"

"Yes, sir."

"Uhm? I don't know what it looks like yet, but yep!"

"I have a name you know, Maxim."

"Good, looks like you're all ready. Good luck, show me what you can do."

"I'm just chopped liver aren't I? Fine! I'll show you exactly what I can do!" He brandished his knives, though his face was totally unserious.

"See that Shurry- Huh? Shurry?" Meteria looked around, and didn't see the little wolf boy. It was then that the sound of the monster rex spawning started.

Shurry stood in the center of the room facing the wall as it crumbled, revealing the monstrous figure behind it. "Oh so it's just a giant person? This'll be easy, wait, it has regeneration abilities, right? It should be fun…" Shurry smiled.

Goliath the giant announced himself to the world, with an awakening roar, and he stepped out from the wall, locking his eye on the tiny target before him.

Shurry took a deep breath in, and released a powerful howl, it was like two sound waves were competing for dominance.

Goliath balled his hands together and came down in a double hammer fist strike.

Shurry lunged straight forward, avoiding the attack entirely. And while Goliath was a little hunched over, Shurry leaped up to the face of Goliath, and spung kicked his cheek twisting the giant's head 90 degrees to its left, with a rather noticeable dent in its cheek.

"Wow, he's really good. He knows how to use his boy's power to the utmost limit, and then some. You really trained him well, Leon."

"Most of that is his own effort. All I did was serve as a sturdy target, offering a minor suggestion for improvement every once in a while."

"Even so. Hey! The two of you get in there and lend a hand. If he kills it on his own, Meteria, I'll limit your snacks, and Pervy Bunny, uh, you'll be a supporter for the rest of the expedition."

Those words were enough to get those two to move their butts.

A snap was heard, as the Goliath's head came back to position.

The pervy bunny hopped around in quick short movements, serving as a distraction.

Meteria began chanting her magic, with the intention of aiming for the goliath's head.

Smashing and roaring, the Goliath couldn't land a hit on either of the two gnats causing him way more annoyance than anything else.

Shurry would jump and climb the giant's limbs, landing a bunch of damage in the process, and occasionally tail swiping at the goliath's head.

The pervy bunny ran around the giant's legs, slicing away at its heels and tendons, bringing it down slowly but surely. Though, it would get angry, heal, and stand back up.

Meteria had been charging her long spell for a while now, the soul illness she suffered from slows her casting speed, due to the strain it causes. However, it was ready. "Flaming Sparking Gale!" Her spell fired a sustained magical beam, a mix of fire and lightning, however, the goliath dodged out of the beam's line. "No!"
