"No, little brother!" Meteria called out, worried about the breath attack.
"Oh, stop worrying, he's fine. See, take a look over there, just a little bit towards the enemy's right flank." Empress pointed out, in a cool, reassuring tone. "It was a rather fast movement, so it's alright if you didn't see it."
"Fast is right, if I saw that right, he used the light platforms in quick succession to switch the angle of his momentum." Maxim smirked, pointing out the strategy. "His battle sense is uncanny, almost frightful to be honest. To think he can react like that… It's nothing short of impressive."
"What's more, that kid looks like he's having fun. He's born to fight, and it seems like he's improving as the fight goes on." Zald laughed, with a respectful smirk. "Then the fact he's doing all of that without transforming, really is impressive."
"No shit. Look at how he's rounding around the room, keeping himself out of attack range from the Napalm Breath from the other head." Maxim noted.
"This boy knew how to push this monster into the most disadvantageous position, while putting himself in the most advantageous position, and executed it instantly, now he is almost effortlessly keeping that same advantage while sizing up his foe." Zald chuckled.
"Everyone, I think you should take a look at those platforms. The ones he used at the start of the fight, they're still intact even when covered in the mist… And it looks like Shurry just noticed that it wasn't a fluke…" Empress noted, making an observation of her own before the men took care of all of it.
"Seriously, this is crazy, Magic is supposed to break down in that mist. How is that those aren't breaking down? Hey, ask Shurry to test what it would take to make those disappear."
Shurry heard someone using the command skill to amplify their voice, he heard the order, and pouted, shouting back. "But its breath smells like an old man's sewer!"
"Lyca says she'll give you a good bath when the battle's over, tons of scratches and bubbles!"
"Huh? I want meat! Lots of meat!" Shurry said, and took a turn to dive into the mist.
The moment Shurry dove into the mist, the light disks all disappeared. To get rid of the smell, he dove straight into the water, and then used a few more disks to launch a water spout up, and avoid all of the stinky mist.
"Hmm, so his magic works as if he, himself is the magic, interesting. That should be useful information for him. He will grow stronger from this, of that I am certain." Maxim smirked. "This kid sure is full of interesting things. So I don't think I'd need to mention this, but, everyone needs to keep how good he is a tight lipped secret, understand."
"Of course, it would be bad if this got out. Especially if those Evilus rats got a hold of him."
"Indeed. Alright, Shurry! You! Can Hunt! It However! You Like!"
Shurry's expression brightened as he let out a howl. He ran around the boss room a few more times, setting up the platforms again. Soon the Boss was surrounded by over 100 of these light disks.
Amphisbaena looked around, with enough intelligence that it knew it was in trouble. And so, it dove down real deep, charging up its attacks as it did so, and then shot up from the water, becoming airborne.
"YOU'RE MY PREY!!!!" Shurry smiled, and darted directly for it, moving all of the light platforms closer, all at once.
Amphisbaena released both of its breath attacks in a spiraling swirl, in an attempt to defeat its opponent.
Shurry did a quick series of jumps, and found himself outside of the ball of light platforms. The boss's flames burned its body, the mist invaded the wounds, and both attacks stunk up the side of the ball while rapidly increasing the internal pressure… The boss, under these conditions, died from the high pressure and temperature…
"Ahaha! Call me the mightiest chef, for I have a whole Amphisbaena roast!" Shurry laughed, lowering the platforms down and slowly releasing the pressure.
Shurry landed on top of the boss, and tore away a big chunk of its flesh. He started munching his way through the monster's body, until he collected the magic crystal within. By the time Shurry crawled out, Zald was near the same hole and eyeing the meat.
"Oh, look at you. Looks like you got a bite to eat, was it good?"
"Hmm? No, I was just hungry, so I filled my tummy!" Shurry answered with an innocent smile. He then opened his mouth and took another bit out of the monster meat.
"It's been awhile since I've had Amphisbaena, mind if I take some to make some jerky in the next safe spot?"
"Make some for me too! Going without meat this long is super hard!" Shurry cheered, and took another bite.
Soon after, the collection team got to disassembling the monster corpse, each a little more than shocked at the sheer amount of meat and blubber that Shurry had just shoved into his stomach. And again, like with the Goliath, it didn't take long for the monster to be completely dismantled, with several thousand pounds of meat having been safely collected.
It wasn't much longer before everyone was packed up and ready to go, Shurry continuing to stuff his face as they walked to the 28th floor, also known by the name, Under Garden. And like its name suggests, it was a beautiful floor, filled with many flowers in a giant field.
"Oh wow, it's so pretty!" Meteria cheered, seeing the floor for the first time. Then turned to the little boy chowing down on freshly harvested meat, she smiled at him. "It's because of your magic that I am able to see this pretty sight. Thank you, little brother."
Shurry, confused, lifted his gaze to meet Meteria's smiling face, and then he tilted his head. He looked down at the meat and wondered. "Do you want some?" He asked, offering the meat in his hands.
Lyca, in a shock, giggled. "I don't think she wants that. She just wanted to express her thanks for helping with her illness."
"Hmm? Oh, that means this is the first time for both of us! Big Sister, let's have some fun while we're here!" Shurry said, cheerfully putting his hands up.
The others began to set up the camp with gusto, everyone wanting a break from the long walk. And while they did that, Alfia, Meteria, Pervy Bunny, and Shurry all played in the fields, until they stumbled upon a tree…
