Chapter 82 - C082 : Kitchen Devourer

It was the first morning where Shurry didn't have the same amount of energy as he did before, opting to instead cling onto Hathor for a bit longer. There was a knock at the bedroom door, and Oxelene entered.

"Lady Hathor, is everything alright? Breakfast is almost over…" She asked, softly walking towards the bed. As she did, the scene before her was Shurry still holding onto Hathor, he was even shaking a little bit. "Oh my, he's shaking…"

"The parents that rescued & took tender care of him for two whole years just left Orario yesterday-" Hathor began trying to explain.

"Mommy, you won't leave me right?"

"Of course not." Hathor said, snuggling Shurry closer. He's smart, and knows the reason why Idunn left him here with me. Even so, he's still just a puppy, a puppy that really loves his parents. "Whenever you need anything, I'll be there."

"I'll do what I can to help too, Shurry. You have my word on that." Oxelene cheerily added, gently rubbing his back. "And the first thing I know to do when you're like this, is to get you some food. The chefs made you a nice breakfast this morning. Nice and big too."

Shurry's tail started a gentle wag… "Really?" He asked. "It's not some trick to make mommy disappear?"

"Pfft, you're too precious. No, Mommy will still be here." Oxelene's sweet voice sounded far more upbeat with her giggling. "So how about we get some tasty breakfast into that belly. And do it before the neighborhood thinks a monster stampede is on the wa-"

Shurry, having eaten no second breakfast, no lunch, or second lunch, or dinner yesterday… He was obviously very hungry, and just as if fate had toyed with Oxelene, the boy's stomach growled with a mighty roar.

Some citizens let it slide, knowing that the kid there had such a terrifying appetite… Others were panicking, someone even ran over to the Zeus familia to report a terrifying monster roar in the city.

By the time, a suppression team had arrived at the location, they were met with laughter by the Hathor familia's posted guards, and then shown inside.

Once the door opened, it revealed a little boy, surrounded by mountains of empty, dirty dishes. As he just kept eating, nomming away so fast it was like its own battle.

"Pfft, ahahaha!!! I had a feeling this would be the case. And here the little pup is, just devouring away."

"Hmm" Shurry turned, seeing that Lyca and others had come all the way to see him, he smiled… Though he didn't for a second stop eating. "Oh, hi!" His tail kept wagging.

Zald, looked slightly annoyed, and then let out a heavy sigh. "Boy, did you forget to eat or something? You need to stop forgetting that."

"Mumkay!" Shurry kept on munching away, finishing everything placed before him.

"Lady Hathor, the kitchen's out of meat!"

"HUH!? Then bring whatever else you can, and go get some more immediately."

The third member of the team sent, was actually Alfia. She walked up and pinched Shurry's cheek. "You're different today, what happened?" She asked, actually a little worried.

Shurry tried telling the story but found it too hard to tell since his tummy started rumbling again, and went right back to eating once more.

"Hmph! Little brother can be so mean! It's not like you're alone right now, is it?"

Shurry paused, turned, blinked, and then smiled. "You're right! I've got lots of family now!" He finished what was left, Hathor helped wipe his mouth clean, and then he jumped up to his feet. "It's time to get to work!" His tummy rumbled again, this time softly.

"After you quell that rumbling in your stomach, and not a moment sooner. I'd like to not be called for a suppression force when it's my lazy nap day." Lyca yawned, and then smirked. "Oh! How about you spend the day with me today? I'll show you that special restaurant just for us werewolves."

"Mommy, can I go?"

"Sure, why not?" I could use a little break, even if this means I'm not leaving the house.

"Yay! Let's go and eat so much meat!!!!"

…

A hole in the wall, a secret location within the city, filled with werewolves that had arrived in the city, it was a restaurant called, The Wolves Den, the scent coming from inside was absolutely delectable, Shurry couldn't stop sniffing and licking his lips, as if trying to eat the air itself.

"Pfft, you're adorable." Lyca giggled, pushing the door open, and the two of them entered. "This is the place-"

"Hey good morning Lyca." A man from behind the counter smirked, and howled softly. He was clearly interested in her.

"Good morning Cyal." She returned a howl.

Shurry was frantically looking around the restaurant, sniffing everything, drooling as he did so. When he thought about their howls he was confused since he'd never understood what all of them meant, but figured he should do the same, and proudly howled, excited at the thought of meat. "This is the place that yummy meat was from! I can smell it!"

"So this is the pup you talked about." The man looked over at Shurry, he continued to stare for a few moments, and then… "Is he-"

"Yes, we're here for an endless meat buffet!"

Catching her drift, Cyal started laughing, feeling a new sense of pride in himself. "Take a seat at this table here, and-" He came out tossing a piece of meat through the air.

Shurry transformed and caught it in the air, excitedly chomping down on it, and licked his chops. "More! More!" he cheered, returning to normal, hands high above his head as he cheered.

"Holy shit. An alpha truly has been born… This… Changes everything… Any werewolf in his party would be able to exert their peak at all times!"

There was a brief moment when the few other werewolves in the restaurant stopped eating, taking note of what they just saw, each remembering the legends of what their race was capable of with an alpha. Then they continued eating with a renewed vigor, as something deep, primal, powerful, had awoken from within.

"I'm still hungry!!!!! MEAT!!!" Shurry said, crawling into a chair, expecting the good stuff to start coming.

…

After Shurry left, Cyal looked at their stores of meat… "Ha, hahaha, and here it's practically all we have, and he nearly ate us out of everything… We've only got a single slice. I managed to convince him to let me eat for myself… We're going to have to rework our stocking procedures." He sighed, and reluctantly had to turn away customers for a few hours before an emergency resupply had been finished.
