Chapter 177 - C178 : West Main Street

North main street, once quiet and peaceful, suddenly turned into a picture that truly encapsulated what one could imagine hell looking like. Fortunately, the Loki familia's adventurers just so happen to live in the area so the damage was a little bit lesser than the south main street.

Why even though the Freya familia lives in the south? Because the majority of their members had moved out to go deal with the dragons, leaving a massive power gap. And clearly showcasing the lack of care a strategist like Hedin would make. Now, that's not to say they were completely evacuated, just there was hardly anyone of sufficient level there, making the battle more difficult, and thus they couldn't press any further through the enemy lines.

So, despite equal strengths relatively speaking, they had massively different strategies and thus radically different results.

Loki familia, fought back in the north, managing to establish good cordons, escape routes either to inside the Twilight Manor, or to Bable Tower where the base of the tower leading into the dungeon would help house any overflow.

A patrol through the side allies leading towards the North-West main street, was besieged by suicide bombers. All of them died in the blast. The team behind them suffered minor injuries and then dealt with the cultist attackers.

Scenes like this were happening everywhere. Cultists were doing all types of vile, disgusting, and evil things. Each less redeemable by the minute. They were truly grotesque individuals, all deserving of death.

The South-West main street was in a similarly terrible state. The fronts on all streets were in a terrible state however…

The bombs went off again, and continued going off for an hour straight. Even in this state, brave adventurers still charged into the fray, some dying, others coming back worse for wear. Some of the men, and women, just regular civilians, couldn't take it anymore. And insisted on helping out somehow.

Sure all the other jobs inside the tower were taken care of. Sure they were weak. But it didn't mean they had no hands, nor feet. The feeling was even stronger in places outside of the tower.

Ganesha familia… A raccoon woman stood up, her clothes that barely passed for amazoness clothing… "I can't take this anymore! Those damn cultists took my sister's life!!! I'm going to help out. I'm done feeling helpless!"

"ME TOO!" Said a man.

"Same here!" Said another man.

This turned into a wave of support, one beget the next… Suddenly, there were enough volunteers that the idea of logistics shortages was a none issue now.

"It is truly honorable for all of you to volunteer for such an important job. I am Ganesha! If you want to help, I'll allow you to help. Nothing too dangerous though. You're not ready for it."

…

The base of Bable tower, Hathor stood out in the open, with complete faith in the wolves Shurry left to care for her. Each could be considered a force of nature on their own. Seeing how reliable they were, other gods felt it was safe enough to stay with Hathor as well. Despite the constant arrows that came trying to hit Hathor, a wolf tail would bat it away effortlessly. And then suddenly the origin of the arrow was no longer to be found among the world of the living. A dark elf had snuffed their life in a matter of moments.

"Hathor, where are your children right now?"

"Yeah, I know Origin Wolf is deep in the dungeon dealing with the mass of power we've been sensing. But I don't see the others."

"Pfft, my children have grown a lot then if they can hide so easily from you. We're safe, several of my children are patrolling the immediate area, while Bokhoir and some others are dealing with those dragons. And then the rest are currently helping out in the west."

"The west?"

"Yes, that's where the mastermind is going to show himself from. The sun rises in the east, and is devoured by evil in the west. That evil will soon rise."

"You mean it hasn't already done so?"

"Nope."

"I have another question, Hathor. How are your children so disciplined? I haven't seen any of them yet, and know they are helping immensely."

"I wonder if Origin Wolf could solve this?"

"I doubt it will be easy even for him…" She left out an answer to the other question.

…

West main street, aside for the dragons in the east, this place was the next most desperate place in all of the city. All of Evilus' major commanders were in this direction, except for a small few, they had a different mission…

"KEKEKE! I'm curious how you will fare against my spirit soldiers." Basaram laughed, as his deity caressed his cheek.

"Oh I just love how you laugh." The goddess smiled eerily. "My little evil child."

"Awe, thanks my lady." Basram snickered. "I love you… My spirit soldiers!"

"Pfft, just like I taught you. Stay around longer so we can play more twisted games."

Valletta Grede came out from the smoke with a villainously hysterical expression. Her arms raised holding the heads of two people. She brought them together in a kissing motion then crushed the skulls, and laughed her maniacal laugh.

"OH! I JUST LOVE KILLING!" She released her feelings to the heavens. "It just feels so damn good!"

Barca sighed, coming to the front. "You drew me out of my lab for this… Can't you do anything with at least a normal dial, you're always at eleven."

"Oh shut up, I already gave you what you wanted, and how dare you not at least make me feel good. Now I have to kill more to get off properly."

"Now, now. Just go and kill. Thanatos, Apate, let's begin as well."

"Right."

The front lines in the west fell back for a moment until… Valletta was stopped by a strong looking human.

"Oh? You were able to stop me? You must be a level 5 that I haven't heard of before? Tell me your name!"

The man smirked. "So you think I'm level 5, that's the case, then my back up might not be required." He glanced to the side once more. "Though I suppose they're already here…"

"Hey there, it looked like you could use a hand! Name's Gareth, think we can handle these foes?"

"Heh, with help it's just over kill. Tell your crew to work on holding others back, once I'm finished with this murder psycho bitch, I'll come to aid in killing the other shit heads."

"Got it! Bara! Dain! Noir! We're taking down those walking corpses!"

That comment elicited a smirk from Basram.
