Chapter 179 - C179 : Target, Spiral, Dead

In the guild's chamber beneath the surface, Ouranos kept an eye on everything happening. A small mirror being used to aid Fels in keeping track of what was going on floated in front of him.

Should I sound the alarm? It will take him some time to return to the surface…

Ouranos noticed the questioning nature of his subordinate. "Not yet."

"Lord Ouranos-"

"Even if you did so now, he'd have to fight through calamities, just to get back. Despite his immense strength, and speed, the floor he's on, would still take him at least 2 days to reach the surface."

"What floor did you-"

"80"

"What?! Not even the Zeus, and Hera familias led by Maxim, and Empress were that good."

"He's grown to be far more skilled in these last 8 years. I have a feeling there's a greater secret behind his strength." He sensed someone coming down the stairs. "Miach, what is it you need?"

"Alpha werewolves. Was there ever such a thing?"

"Not as a race all their own, no."

"There's one currently in the dungeon."

"I see… I wonder, is this the reason why he's that strong? Or is it his strength that make him an alpha?"

"You know more about it than I do. I just happened to hear the stories from others since my temple was close by. Even from our kin's mouths, it's still hard to believe-"

"Well, it's true."

Fels, noticeably confused, made a move to ask, however he was stopped.

"Fels, make sure Miach returns to his children safely."

"Oh, there's no need for that, I have guards already. They're strong."

"Very well."

Outside, Miach met up with his current familia captain, and the others who'd been guarding him. Neze, and Ryana Lietz were also present as additional guards, though they were also there for a different reason.

"So, did you get the answer you needed, Lord Miach?"

"Yes, and no. Allow me some time to figure out how best to relay this to others." … "Alpha… Is… piece? … Whole?"

Neze made note of Miach's mutterings. It was a rather tense walk back to the central square.

…

Outside, Alise and her familia had returned to the base of the tower, oddly enough, all of them did so as if all in sync with each other. It caused a good laugh among them save for Ryuu who couldn't figure out how to laugh.

"Seems like you two had an interesting trip, Neze, Ryana." Alise teased.

"Not really, Lord Miach didn't even bother telling me what it was that would be important enough to take me off the lines."

"Well, either way, get some rest, we're heading east in a half an hour."

"Why there?"

"Hathor familia's level 4s are doing some excellent work keeping Evilus on the back foot in the West, South west, and North west. In other words we aren't needed there."

"So what that means is, there's some of Evilus' level 5s wandering around?"

"Yeah, and with the current situation, Ardee is the only level 5 in the Ganesha familia."

Neze's eyes narrowed, it was as if some other instinct took over. She didn't bother resting. She was running full speed ahead, a worry in her heart, and fury rising from her belly. Surely they wouldn't dare? Right? Surely not? She thought, hopeful despite the obvious proof to the contrary she'd seen, even within just the last hour.

Alise made sure everyone had fully stocked up on their potions first, then left in the hopes of figuring out what had driven their resident werewolf to show her true speed.

In the skies above, team 3 of the dragon riders was still in combat with the Spiral horned young dragon. They'd hit it with everything they had, Finn & Riveria alike.

"Damn it, this thing just won't die!"

"Hey, my little Nogdra needs to rest. We can't keep going like this."

"Damn it, if this was on the ground I might have a chance. Airborne enemies…" An utterly exhausted Finn complained, yet still trying to think up a strategy to kill this dragon.

Riveria, still serving as a sentry unit atop Bable Tower, stumbled as her legs felt like, and with their constant shaking… looked like jello. "Heh, damn that monster is resilient."

"Riveria! One! More! Shot!"

"Finn, you damn slave driver." Riveria said, collapsing to her knees or so she thought.

Supported by someone's hand, Riveria didn't fall.

"Gosh, you're tired already? Bet you're wishing you hadn't killed my little brother's big brother now aren't you?"

"Huh? Oh, Nernatti. Wait, why are you here?"

"Because you're weak. So, I'll give you a choice. Give up, and I'll kill it, or you drink this, and cast a spell like you actually mean it."

Riveria resisted the urge to click her tongue, and once more the memory of seeing her magic shattered like it had meant little at best, and nothing at worst, played in her mind… She reached out for the high magic potion, then hesitated.

"If you keep feeling like your magic is useless then you're just accepting death here. My little brother is not to be underestimated. So if you want to live, and redeem your image, even if only a little, you really should kill that dragon. Just take a look at Finn, though he's acting pathetic as well, he's at least trying."

Riveria grit her teeth, and nearly grabbed the vial she'd been offered when it was moved out of reach. "What's the problem now?"

"If you have the ability to reach for this little crutch, you should have enough for a spell strong enough to blow a hole right through that thing."

"Fine, I'll prove my magic isn't weak." … "VAS WINDHEIM!"

Sure enough, it wasn't but a few moments later that the spiral horned dragon had been taken down, and turned into a scattering of ashes in the wind.

Finn fell unconscious, and plummeted towards the ground, caught by the exhausted team 3. And Riveria, having been able to stay awake long even to see the results of her spell, smiled proudly, and then also went into mind down… Nernatti reluctantly carried her down the floors to Loki, where Finn was also brought.

"Huh? What the hell happened up there?!"

"Well, they sorta exhausted themselves to take down a level 7 dragon."

"Man, this is really not good. Without Riveria, no one can control that damn kid."

"Which kid?"

"Ais, I tried my best to keep her from seeing the dragons… But she then ran, or rather halfway flew east."

"Don't worry too much Lady Loki, Bokhoir knows what he's doing. Worst case, if she causes trouble, will result in her being returned unconscious."

It wasn't long after she said that, when several magical explosions sounded off in the east. Those who saw, knew that it was Ganesha familia who was under attack.
