A short time later, he felt it, the death of his only child in the mortal plane. He took a deep breath, and exhaled, a haze of darkness added to the smoke cloud filled sky. Everywhere dimmed, light seemed to struggle just to flicker with the faintest of light.
Magical lights began cracking, their magic burning up significantly faster to keep the area it was responsible for lighting, lit… overloading them, and finally some began to explode, curiously, some remained completely fine, though only two would ever know the complete reason.
"A stubborn one aren't you, Ouranos." Erebus sneered. "We're going to the next plan. I made sure to save this one for some added fun."
…
Barca Perdix, was officially the last living executive of the Evilus faction. His condition was less than favorable. And then… Just when he thought he was about to die. A spear came in to rescue him from certain death, knocking Alise' blade hard enough her jab missed the mark ever so slightly.
"So, there were more of you hiding out somewhere? I guess this is why Lady Hathor warned us about this situation. What's your name, new arrival, evil spear guy, with a terrible fashion taste?"
"Dix Perdix."
"So, you're brothers then. I guess I can respect the desire to protect your brother."
"Dix, get out of here, you don't have to be a part of this." Barca coughed up blood.
"Shut up, don't go dying on your own like this. How dare you make me build that thing on my own."
"If you die now, it will never be completed. You've yet to sire a child to inherit the responsibility."
"Like I give a damn about that."
Alise sighed, and removed her sword. "If you're not a member of Evilus, I won't kill either of you, provided Barca swears he's done, and turns himself in."
"You should know that I can't go against my god's wishes. I must kill. It is his will."
"And I'm not leaving you alone either. This bitch doesn't understand. I didn't come alone."
Then everyone heard some type of cackling from above. It came from a man, laughing and slapping his knee. It was the god, Ikelos.
"That's right, my whole familia is here, you're surrounded. I'm siding with Evilus on this one. This city has no way to defeat what they have in store. Plus this is more fun."
"With these forces, it should be more than enough to finish all of you off for good."
Just as the fight was about to start once more in earnest. From the East came the final death cries of a powerful dragon. It resounded throughout the city, signifying that they'd done it. The sounds of their cheers of joy, and relief filled the sky, thrilled by their success and forced the new sudden darkness to give way, even if only just a little bit.
"They did it? They actually fucking did it?"
"Yeah, they sure did, and they did so without the Origin Wolf here right now. But my thumb, it's vibrating. I can't even grip a spear in my right hand anymore. Hmm?" He looked at his left. "My left is shaking too?"
Alise, and the Astraea familia, plus Ardee, and the white haired young man from the future joined in the battle to fight against the substantial size of the Ikelos familia. Injuries were a constant, healing was a constant, and the Ikelos familia started falling to their deaths. The massive scale of the battle turned out to be extraordinarily quick, they were a bunch of nobodies with just a little power. Ultimately nobody was worthy of fighting against the group of powerhouses. It was over, and done with, quickly.
The next order of business was escorting the civilians to safety. Some people were able to reunite with family, or friends, others… well they weren't so lucky. Alise, her familia, Ardee, and the young man from the future arrived back at the tower, exhausted. Not from a single powerful foe, but rather, the excessive numbers they fought through. While they rested in a halfway isolated room, Astraea came in to check on them.
"White hair, you're not bad. Why have I never heard of you?"
Alise asked, leaning back on a small cot… calling it that was generous.
"I- uhm- I don't know how to explain that. Sorry, I'm still confused, what's going on right now?"
"Huh?! We have to start there? Gosh, did a rock hit your head or something?"
"I don't care, you all talk, I need to change my clothes. They're all gross and torn in too many places." Kaguya interjected, and threw her panties directly into the young man's face.
"Uh- EHH!?"
"Pfft, Kaguya, give him a break. He must have been through a lot." Astraea giggled, with a warm smile. "Young man, what familia are you in? I admit I've never heard of you either, so this is more than a little strange."
"Oh uhm… Lady-"
"Can't say? Well then how about this, you girls get some rest. Young man, come with me."
"Awe I wanted to snuggle mommy!"
"In a moment darling."
…
In a more private place, the white haired young man and Lady Astraea were alone, though they were still well within range of any healer, and there was also a wolf guarding her. Even the young man wouldn't be able to do anything.
"So, tell me all about it, what troubles you?"
"I- it's going to sound crazy. But I- I think I've traveled to the past. In my time I'm a member of the Hestia familia, and I'd only heard stories of this time from one of my close friends. But… It's different, so much different."
"Perhaps, there's a spark that caused this difference?"
"Yeah? I've never heard of this person, Origin Wolf, who are they?"
It was then Astraea realized just how radically different the worlds might be. And that there might be a purpose behind this boy's appearance.
"He's the strongest in the world, and a dearly close friend of my familia. What's your name?"
"It's Bell, Bell Cranel."
"You should choose an alias to go by while you're here."
"Al?"
"Pfft, sure, that'll work. Listen, Al, I believe you may have been sent here for a purpose. You should take your time to search for what that purpose must be."
A man in a feathered hat arrived, having cheated his way to over hearing everything.
"If you stick around long enough, you might just see something interesting."
"Lord Hermes?!"
"The one and only. Say, do you mind telling us how everything went in your world?"
A few moments later. Hermes laughed.
"Oh if that was all it was here, well, Origin Wolf wouldn't be needed to resolve it this time. Even Bokhoir, and Nernatti could probably pull out a victory over them. Let alone the whole Hathor familia. Let's call you Jester as an adventurer name for now. Go and get yourself some rest."
Bell- Al, left…
"No one else can know of this."
"I know. But I'm afraid he already heard it… So what are you feeling right now Hermes?"
"What do you mean?"
"Going to join your old friends, and take the side of Evilus?"
"No, I don't think what he's doing is right, nor is it a good idea. This was completely unnecessary. Origin Wolf training whoever he wanted to is already more than enough."
"Agreed, so, do you support Hathor's position on what comes next?"
"Yeah, this is way too much for us to simply say "he was punished in Tenkai" to assuage the masses."
