With speed clearly beyond the comprehension of everyone, save for the gods, Shurry disappeared in a flash. The mirrors showing the monstrous horrors could barely keep up with him.
He was in the west, then the north, then the south, then... And then…
"Hey! He's over here, oh nope, we missed him."
"These dragons, it's like swatting flies for him."
Hathor smiled, proudly watching as her pride and joy was systematically removing all of the most damaging targets first. He's even holding back, he knows he could kill all of them in an instant, but he's doing this instead. He knows what it takes. She looked over watching as people from all ages, and races, were cheering him on, their spirits continuing to rise, bubbling to the surface as the dragons were slaughtered.
"Wha- wha- what's this? How? You're level 8! You shouldn't be capable of something like this!"
Erebus watched on in horror as all his units, ones he practically bought on a loan, gave way to death, becoming piles of ashes, with a giant magical crystal amid the pile. It was a matter of minutes from when he started, to when he finished.
Shurry stopped his assault short, for a moment, in the central square, and stretched.
"Oh that wasn't too bad of a warm up."
"It doesn't matter how many times you kill them, I'll bring them back to life! For I am infinite darkness!"
Erebus' taunted, snapping his fingers, causing the darkness to surge, and swirl towards each and every single one of the massive crystals. A few seconds later, the dragons came to life once more, roaring out, as if to declare their frustration.
"Hmm, that could actually prove to be a little annoying." Shurry said, and looked around, his eyes caught Hathor's gaze, and the nod she gave. "Are you sure about this mother? I doubt we'll be able to hide it after this."
"Don't hold back. They'll see everything soon anyways, isn't that right?"
"Hmm, I supposed that's true, I really won't be able to hold anything back when I kill this Demon God."
Shurry cracked his knuckles, and removed his shirt. The few words engraved on his back, showed his level.
"If you're going to revive these dragons, you're no different than the dungeon. Well, actually you're worse. The dungeon gives us a chance to breathe every once in a while. Now… I'm going to show off a little bit. Remember, this is your fault."
Every single dragon around the city had a disc of light created near it. One that turned each of them into ribbons before they even realized. Then, the platforms delivered the crystals to him, all of them were swallowed into Luna, who still remained hidden for the time being.
"Now then, it's time to deal with the big guys, I remember one of them from a long time ago! How's your neck?"
"You can't kill them! They are stronger than before, these are no ordinary- What are you doing?"
"You said I can't kill them. They certainly are strong, I'll give you that, but…" He grew intensely serious, as he grabbed the tail end of the Leviathan. It was a shock to everyone how he managed to get there, until the gust of wind came in to finally replace the space he'd been taking up. "So am I."
What happened next, shook Erebus to the core.
"WHAT! A mortal shouldn't have this kind of strength!"
"Oh shove it you damn Demon God, you're the one who said it first, how unfair they were attacked by a group. Now it's a 1 on 2, in their favor." Bokhoir goaded, far braver now that Shurry was there.
The Leviathan was whipped up into the air, and… Shurry brought his arm down, hard, and fast, the sound of the crack, made by his makeshift whip, broke all the glass in the city, none of it was spared from the sheer volume of this sound.
After the first crack, the landscape had forever been altered along the distance the Leviathan was long. Shurry quickly flicked the whole body, shattering most of the Leviathan's vertebrae.
"There, now it's a perfect whip."
With two more precise movements, the Leviathan's head rounded the city walls, slamming directly into the Behemoth's body. The crater from the shockwave was about 5 meters deep. And large portions of the city wall crumbled from the magnitude of the earthquake. Both monster's crystals were completely exposed…
He rushed in, and removed the whole of Leviathan's crystal from its body. And followed up with Behemoth's as well. Completely absorbing both of their crystals like neither were ever there to begin with. And both could no longer move their bodies, with no magic left to heal with, they were as good as dead.
The next scene was Shurry dropping off a huge section of the Leviathan's body he'd just cut out. And presented it in the central square.
"If you're truly a chef of the highest quality, get to work. This chance only comes once in 10 lifetimes, who wants to eat the scourge of the sea?"
"I'll cook it!"
"Me too!"
"Good, now then… Time for me to go dig in. Here's hoping it isn't half as bad as it smells, but I am incredibly hungry."
Shurry left the square, and appeared back where his prey lay helpless and ripe for devouring. He began eating the monsters while they were still alive, making eye contact with Erebus the entire time. This continued until the prey had been fully devoured.
"WHAT!? HOW!?"
"I always feel a little unsatisfied, well… there was one thing that satisfied me a great deal…"
Shurry opted not to speak of it yet, and returned to the central plaza in rapid fashion. The level on his back is the only thing prominently displayed.
"Hathor! Explain!"
"You wouldn't understand, Erebus, I owe you no explanation."
"Erebus! What was the purpose in all of this!?" Hermes asked, seeing as it was his chance to get an answer, while providing valuable time for Hathor and Shurry.
"This world needs a reset. If you can't see that, then you're blind, Hermes. There's no hero to defeat that thing. So it's best to destroy the whole thing."
Hermes was stunned…
"Erebus, I didn't realize you were this stupid. You went to all this trouble, knowing you would need it. And yet, after it was all rendered useless, you still think this way?"
The situation was rather tense, and Hathor did what she'd done a handful of times before now. The blood from her finger hit his perfectly molded back. And the light began to shine…
