Chapter 201 - C201 : Level 9

Hephaestus, one of the gods who believed this moment shouldn't be resolved by a god regardless, went around to the other gods in the room. She only went to the ones who may hold a similar sentiment to her own.

"What do you think of this situation?" She'd ask, expecting a reply.

"Hephaestus? What's with that look in your eyes?"

"I've been working on something, anyways, answer me."

"I don't believe the children will be satisfied by simply sending Erebus back to Tenkai."

Another god overheard and joined in.

"I agree, this isn't something any one of us could resolve in any way. It would just turn Gekai into a battleground for us gods. In a situation like that, regular mortals would have a longer life expectancy living among the monsters in the dungeon."

"Hathor has already helped me as much as she could, but they aren't ready. If you want to help, come with me."

She left the gathering with everyone debating on what to do with all of the confusing information. Those who followed her had various different backgrounds, familias, and even thoughts on the matter.

"I may not agree that a mortal should kill a god. But I'm willing to make an exception this time around." One sighed, clenching as he resisted the urge to fight Erebus himself.

"Someone special to you must have died."

"Yes, they were a wonderfully bright pair of twins. A young man, and woman. I gave them so much love. And received it back in spades…"

"I see… usually I'd poke fun at your sexual choices, but now's not a good time."

"Heya Phi-phi, where are you going?"

They'd encountered Loki, who'd retreated to a higher floor because of the stares she was receiving. It was as if the others were blaming her for everything that's happened so far. Though she was also watching over some of her children who'd needed emergency treatment.

"To finish the thing I've been working on."

Loki looked at the gods following her friend, that was enough information to understand what Hephaestus actually meant by all of that. This is my chance to save my familia.

"Mind if I help out too? Freya may like to aid in this as well."

"Ugh, fine. Bring whoever else with you, the more the better."

"You're right, his temple is nearly here."

"Once that happens-"

"I'll meet you up there, Phi-phi!"

Loki dashed off to gather some more of her fellow kin, hoping she still had leverage to pull some people into the fold. The action of trying might be enough to deal with her current predicament. Though she couldn't be too conspicuous about it, even if it was a slim chance, Erebus wasn't the type to not prepare ahead of time. In other words, if he finds out, he might very well begin killing.

"Mommy Astraea, is everything alright?"

"Yeah, today, the second ever-"

"I'm sorry, but I need to go. I can't wait any longer." Ardee ran out of the room, and down the stairs of bable.

She felt it, Ganesha was nearby. Everything is in the perfect place! I'm going to finally officially marry him!

…

While Erebus was still complaining left and right, Hashana delivered Ganesha to the tower.

"Origin Wolf!"

Shurry's expression changed, and Ganesha glowed… the same silver light of the moon that once saved the whole familia, now purged Ganesha of the toxins he'd been exposed to.

"It seems that I should purge that disgusting power from the city before it infects everything."

He spoke, in a measured tone as he struggled to fully control his new found power. This was like that time 8 years ago. Hathor had used everything she could, and now, he had stepped on the borderline…

He walked outside, and looked all around, his gaze, it was seemingly capable of seeing to the city wall, and even beyond, regardless of the obstacles in the way of his sight, it didn't matter.

"Tell me, Erebus, why do you believe that darkness is superior to the light?"

"It's everything, and everywhere, the default! When light is gone darkness is all that remains."

"That just means you're too weak to continue on, to keep pushing forward."

His back was in full view, this time, Hathor only hid the basic abilities from the world. You've become invincible to anyone in the world, you shouldn't need to fear showing off a bit. That was her reasoning. However, his reasoning differed: "If it gives them even more hope than before, then, it is worth it."

"Are you calling me, a god, weak?"

"No, I'm calling a Demon God, pathetically weak." Shurry grinned.

"There's nothing strong enough to defeat the darkness!"

"Oh you see there is…"

"What? The sun? I'll be done with you long before that thing rises."

Shurry shook his head.

"The moon?" Erebus laughed, then dove down a rant. "You know the moon is new! You have no hope of a dark moon shining through!"

"Everyone, regardless of their age, race, or creed, requires a break every once in a while. This is why the sun sets, to share its light with the rest of the world. The moon is generous enough to share a little of that with us, even in the dead of night-"

"Fool, the moon is new. You can't expect that- WHAT!"

Above the center of the city, Erebus watched as the very thing he'd planned to not be there… Just shattered, and cracked the darkness.

"The full moon?! How!"

"OUTER MOON! To SUPER MOON!"

The moon grew 10 times in size, radiating its full serenity across the city, and to lands even further.

The sick recovered instantly.

Those infected with the deadly Behemoth toxin, cured the moment the light blessed their skin.

The toxin retreated to the darkness, but failed, nowhere remained dark. There wasn't even the slightest hint of shadows… And, the toxin had been destroyed in its entirety.

The injured, their wounds healed, with rapid function, the pain severely limited by the serene glow. Everything from major, would-be fatal injuries, to simple cuts, were fixed, so well the only scars that remained were on the armor, and clothing.

Those who'd lost limbs, were sent the largest blessing. Their limbs came back, first as a glowing light, stretching out from the injury, and then into a full sized limb of light, before the light retracted resulting in the limb fully returning to them.

Mortals were flabbergasted by the display of magical power, the gods, on the other hand, were more shocked by the status upon his back. So much there…

Shurry looked around, and found a mirror that somehow didn't shatter, he looked at his back, reading everything there. If I combine this with what Mother told me about the basic abilities…
