While the efforts made by the adventurers to track, and cull the thunder of dragons, it became incredibly clear that there were simply too many of them. In the Dragon's Valley, the original sealed spot, Zald was fiercely fighting his way through an ever increasing number of dragons. His eyes narrowed in his focus, and worry crowded in.
"This isn't good. There's no end to them. And they seem to be getting stronger the further I go… I won't be able to hold all of the high powered dragons here on my own. I can try but…"
As he'd been muttering to himself, a dragon's tail whipped around, sending him flying into, and through a mountain, only to land in another.
"That hurt…" He coughed, and wiped his mouth. "There really are a lot of them. I'll do what I can, Nephew, but… Hehe, IT'S DINER TIME!"
Zald launched himself back into the fray, just before the higher leveled dragons could completely run over everyone else. His sword cleaved through the neck of the dragon who launched him so far away… He snuck a bite of it… And proceed to go on a rampage.
As Zald filled the battlefield with monster dust and their crystals, he eventually came across an opening in the ground.
"Holy shit. It's a dungeon… That dragon actually created another dungeon on its own?" He grimaced. "NEW DUNGEON FOUND!"
His announcement was carried by others, and sent through to the other forces. This was one of the worst possible things to find. Because now, it was clear, the power of the one eyed black dragon wasn't simple. It could create a dungeon of its very own.
Though, despite the terror of what Origin Wolf was dealing with, it wasn't the reason this news was awful… No, it meant that no-one could really know how many dragons there were, and worse yet, no one could truly end the battle… Their one hope to clear the thunderous horde of dragons was completely dashed.
The only one available to deal with some of the stronger dragons was Zald, and now he had to stay put, and slay whatever came out of that dungeon opening. Sure there was the easy chance that Alfia could handle slaying whatever came near Orario, but that was not a great idea either, she needed to be ready to handle her other, already daunting task which she was still preparing for.
It was in their moment of frustration at the situation that Meda finally took to her position. Bell, Zald, and a handful of others who still remained in the area of Dragon's valley felt it, and got the hell out of the way.
All except for Ais, who was still in a bloodlusted rage. A rage that quickly died down with a couple of head pats from Bell, allowing just enough clarity to feel danger.
Meda's spell filled the entire Dragon's Valley. The whole place turned into a wasteland full of absolutely nothing save for one thing… The Dungeon.
"Yep… That'll do it." A level 5 courier chuckled nervously. Running over to support the now exhausted mage. "Hey are you alright?"
"Huh? Yeah, that spell just took a lot out of me. I hope it helped as much as it needed to." Meda mumbled, shaking her head, drinking a diluted mind potion. "Ugh, he better give me that baby after this. I won't forgive him otherwise." She smirked, taking in her feat of devastation upon the dragon's forces.
"With that much… I'm sure he will."
…
In a place significantly far away from the battle, many were watching as the fight unfolded. Their own training had just finished, and everyone was now used to their new abilities, whilst suppressing certain ones.
"Wow, she's really grown quite a bit. That spell… It would have ended us back then."
"Well, I don't know about that… Oh fine, it wouldn't have felt good at all."
"And look at Zald, doing his level best to hold the line."
"Think we should help them?"
"Why not?"
"You sure you don't want to help that boy?"
Everyone looked at the guy with the biggest bone to pick, and blinked as if they were unable to confirm if they heard those words right.
"Listen, that boy is fighting at a level we really shouldn't interfere with. I doubt we could have any real change in his fight."
"So what are we going to do then?"
"We're going to help Zald, and the others. I'm sure getting a bit of our help would be a blessing."
An older looking man with a beard as long as he was tired of these people's antics let out a long sigh. "Are you done waiting now? You can go whenever you like." He said. "You're no longer stuck here given your current situation."
"Oh, yeah, we're ready. But first, thanks gramps. Thank you for everything you've done for us."
"This isn't a goodbye you know, it's a see you later." He chuckled. "Good luck in battle."
"Thanks!" The 'leader' of the group smirked, and turned to the others. "Everyone ready?"
"You know it!"
"I'm always ready to knock some monster heads loose. Why else would I have trained this hard?"
"I've missed a good and proper hunt."
"I still have to pay that dragon back for what it did to the others."
"I too have a personal vendetta against that disgusting dragon. I'm ready now though."
"Then let's go."
All of them vanished from the room, and began their trip to the battle… It was a long one, but there was a signal coming in loud and clear, calling out to them.
"Damn, we can feel those two fighting from this far away?"
"Yeah, it's clear they're all having a hell of a time."
"Sounds like fun. I can't wait to get back there. I want that place's meat again!"
"I want to hold my daughter."
"Same."
"She's cute, but I'm a bit more prone to my nephew. I'm going to dote on him all over again!"
"Fufufu, you're already a great aunt."
"Thank you. Wait, hey! I'm younger than you!"
