Erza, full of confidence, declared, "Winning isn't about asking about the difference in strength, Wendy! It's a test of resolve!"

"Eh… a test of resolve??" Wendy was on the verge of tears.

But seeing nearly half of the injured mages rushing to line up in front of Erza, Wendy felt dejected.

"It's because of my figure after all…" Wendy looked down at her petite body, her expression growing even more somber.

"Um… well, this way you can rest a little…" Levy said, trying to comfort Wendy with an awkward smile.

"Speaking of which… do I really need all this, Mira?" Finn asked, his face a mask of helplessness as he looked at the bandages wrapped all over his body.

Even his arm, which was only slightly swollen, had been encased in a cast and hung from his neck by Mirajane.

Mirajane carefully cleaned a scratch on Finn's forehead, her voice firm and unwavering.

"Of course! Even a small scratch can't be taken lightly!"

"What if the injury gets worse? It would be a disaster."

After applying a fresh bandage, Mirajane finally sighed in relief.

She placed her hands on her hips, puffed out her cheeks, and looked at Finn sternly.

"You're not secretly taking it off, are you?"

What could Finn say?

Her overflowing concern made it impossible to refuse.

He smiled gently. "Don't worry, I won't take it off."

Mirajane nodded in satisfaction.

But the screams of Gray and Gajeel drew their attention.

Gray and Gajeel were completely wrapped in bandages, and Erza, seemingly not satisfied with the tightness, was pulling on them with all her might.

"Are you trying to kill us?!" The same words escaped both of their mouths.

Erza frowned, her expression thoughtful.

"I never imagined that wrapping bandages would be such a difficult task!"

Finn's eyes widened in disbelief.

He suddenly felt very grateful.

The bandages on his body were nothing compared to what Erza was doing to Gray and Gajeel.

"Ara ara!" Mirajane chuckled, watching the scene unfold with amusement.

"But speaking of which… who's that little girl?" Finn asked, looking at Meredy, who was lying on a makeshift bed, also completely wrapped in bandages.

His expression was puzzled.

"She's one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, but she's just a misguided child. Juvia and Mira-san hope she can find the right path, so they saved her," Juvia explained, her voice gentle.

"Yes, we want to talk to the master about it when she wakes up," Mirajane said, looking at the still unconscious Meredy and nodding.

"I see." Finn had no objections.

Speaking of which, Finn had also "recruited" one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory, and now there was Meredy.

Plus, Lucy had recently acquired the Celestial Spirit Capricorn.

That made three members of the Seven Kin who had been "recruited" by Fairy Tail.

"Now that I think about it…" Finn stroked his chin, feeling a pang of sympathy for Hades.

His most capable subordinates were the Seven Kin of Purgatory, and Bluenote.

Now, three of them had been "recruited" by Fairy Tail…

Hades was truly unlucky.

Meanwhile, Natsu was still loudly clamoring to continue the S-class mage trials.

"You want to do it now?" Happy asked, surprised.

Natsu nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! The second trial was interrupted, wasn't it?"

"If you ask me, we should just have a simple, straightforward fight to decide who wins!"

"Ha? Do you think you can beat me in your current, battered state?"

Gajeel, having just escaped from Erza's clutches, immediately chimed in, his voice filled with arrogance.

"Before you say that, why don't you try getting rid of all those bandages first?" Natsu said, crossing his arms and looking at Gajeel with disdain.

"Don't underestimate me! Defeating you is no problem at all!"

Gajeel retorted, his voice filled with annoyance.

"You want to try?"

"Bring it on!"

The two of them butted heads, their eyes locked in a fierce stare, sparks flying between them.

But their squabble was interrupted by Makarov.

"The S-class trials are canceled, so you don't need to argue!"

"What?!" Everyone exclaimed in surprise.

Makarov explained that members of the Magic Council had infiltrated the list of candidates, and that Grimoire Heart had invaded the island.

Many people had been injured as a result, and after discussing it with the other S-class mages, Makarov had decided to cancel the trials.

Not everyone was happy.

At least, Natsu, Elfman, Gajeel, and Gray were extremely dissatisfied.

They surrounded Makarov, protesting loudly.

"Wait… Gajeel, you weren't even a candidate for the trials…"

Finn looked at the indignant Gajeel, his expression puzzled.

"So why are you yelling 'Let me become an S-class mage'?"

Hearing Finn's words, Gajeel seemed to realize something, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

He disappeared in a flash.

Seeing this, the others, though still disappointed, could only accept the decision.

However, Natsu's personality wouldn't allow him to give up so easily.

Makarov gave him a special opportunity.

If Natsu could defeat Makarov in a fight, he could become an S-class mage.

Natsu was ecstatic.

But in the next second, Makarov knocked him out with a single punch!

"Speaking of which, where's Nancy?" Carla asked, looking around and frowning.

"Nancy seemed to have left with Finn," Lily said, looking at Finn.

Lily was carrying a small knife, which he had taken from a Grimoire Heart mage.

He really liked it because it was a weapon that could be freely extended and retracted.

Hearing their questions, Finn's gaze also turned towards the Tenrou Tree.

"Nancy and Ultear should be back soon," he said, his tone reassuring.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before they saw the small golden cat flying towards them.

She was carrying a woman.

"Nancy's finally back. I was a little worried," Mirajane said, looking up at Nancy.

"But who's that with Nancy?" Happy asked, his voice filled with confusion.

"I'll explain later!" Finn said with a smile.

Soon, Nancy landed with Ultear.

"I'm so glad you're all safe!" Nancy said, relieved to see everyone.

"Welcome back, Nancy!"

"Huh? Who's this?" Everyone's gaze turned to Ultear.

Seeing the familiar face, Gray paused, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Ultear…" The name escaped Gray's lips in a soft murmur.

Makarov recognized Ultear.

After all, Ultear had been a member of the Magic Council.

Seeing the situation, Finn stepped forward and explained Ultear's story.
