Chapter 2 - Meeting

There was silence after the destruction. A quiet but evident fact that nothing will be the way it was. Viata was gone... And the only ones to remember chose to forget.

The library was filled with books from the floor to the ceiling, and rows upon rows of full shelves that lined the whole structure. It was the perfect place for some peace after a storm. Especially after the last task he was sent to do. It provided a serene space that was different from the bloody mess he had been involved in a couple of days before.

Books were stacked on the and around the table he was sitting at. Each pile has a different topic, with papers scattered across the surface of the table. He was in the middle of the library, the only one there, the only one who stayed this long. The others had left to do other tasks or had been bothered by different people, so the previous tables they sat at were left unattended.

He had been looking at different fields and reading for his own entertainment. The books range from psychology to fantasy novels. As well as notebooks with his research, sketches, and other notes he took for himself. He had been looking over old topics that he'd gone over in the past.

It was a quiet change of environment. Surrounded by books, his devices in front of him, and music in the background. No loud noises, people – his family – coming to bother him, or the stress of completing a mission or task properly. Overall, it was nice.

However, nothing ever stays this peaceful for long, does it?

"Gawian!" two voices called out in the silent library, both voices having a bit of urgency in them as they started bickering once again. As the voices started getting louder, Gawian looked up at the figures that disturbed the peace of the previously silent library.

"We're being called," one of them stated, as they rushed to him. This would have to wait. When there's a call, there's probably a mission to be sent on. Yay...

Talk about a peaceful afternoon in the library. The two owners of the voices looked at him expectantly, waiting for him to get up. Reluctantly, he did since he knows those two won't leave him alone until he does.

The library was supposed to be quiet, a place that's supposed to be relaxing. Honestly, fuck this, I'm tired.

Both of them started walking away as Gawian got up, still bickering, whether about the same topic from before or not, nevertheless, still annoying and loud. Gawian stared at them, tiredly, he was done with this bullshit, either way, he started walking. If he doesn't come now, they'll send someone else to come get him, with or without his consent. And for the record, he would prefer being bothered by those two than being forcefully dragged out by the hair by one of his older cousins for not coming the first time.
