Chapter 14 - Humans Vs Monsters: The Failed Defence_4

While the other soldiers were struggling against those monsters, on the other hand Coogler and Azoff were built differently, they were showing their full potential on the battlefield. They were slicing the monsters in half, beheading them as if they were some normal animals.

They were showing their full potential on the battlefield. They were slicing the monsters in half, beheading them in no time, as if they were some random animals.

Coogler had by himself taken on three monsters at a time, he first beheads one monster in one strike, and then attacks the second one, slicing his head in two vertical halves.

When he takes on the third monster, at first he cuts off the monsters both arms and then shots at his left eye, and when he was about to cut off his both legs, but the monster quickly regenerates his left arm and tried to attack him with its claws but Coogler dodges his attack and beheads him with without wasting any time.

Azoff had also single handedly killed many monsters. His clothes were fully covered with blood, as he wasn't just beheading them at once, but slicing them into many pieces as if he was enjoying the battlefield.

"They are completely on different levels!" A soldier exclaimed while watching Coogler and Azoff's fighting skills.

"This is the reason why they were promoted to Commander level at this young age!" Another soldier added.

"Yeah! Just below the ranks of the Major and General!" The first soldier replies back.

The monsters continued their relentless march, driven by their insatisable hunger for human flesh and blood.

And the soldiers, led by Commander Coogler and Commander Azoff, fought bravely, as they had resolved to hold off the creatures and save their city from destruction.

The soldier kept fighting against those monsters, until the remaining 30-40 monsters started running back to the direction where they had come from.

"What the fuck is happening here?" A soldier speaks up in shock.

"Why the hell are they running back?" Another one added.

"I don't think it's a good sign!"

Suddenly, the field telephone which was being held by a Soldier started ringing, the soldier picked up the handset and answered, "Hello!"

"Hello! Hello!" A voice raised from the other side, "Do you hear me?"

"Yes. I can hear you!" The soldier said, "Is there any problem?"

"Where are you guys?" Gal asked.

"In the South-eastern side of the town!" The Soldier replied.

"I know there, but exactly which area?" Gal asked.

"Ratigion Residential Colony!"

"Get the hell out of there quickly!" Gal added.

"But why?" The soldier asked back, "What is the problem?"

"More than 300 monsters can be seen rampaging towards your location, throughout the surveillance cameras of the South-eastern part."

Coogler could hear the loud voices coming out of the field telephone. He walks up to the soldier, and then takes the handset from him, holding it with his right hand, he speaks up, "We aren't going anywhere!"

"But Sir…!" Gal was about to say something, but he stopped in the middle.

"Listen, contact the base and ask them to send more soldiers, about 200 to 300!" Coogler said.

"Major Pierce Coogler and Major Azoff Kupferburg!" The voice suddenly changed, it wasn't Gal, the voice was much deeper.

"General Sebastian Adam!" Coogler exclaimed.

General Sebastian Adam, a 70 years old man, standing straight in the control room with a tall height of 7.2 feet, his hairs and moustache had completely turned white, wearing a dark blue uniform with his name written on the badge at the left side of his uniform.

Sebastian Adam is the Army General of their nation, and is the highest rank officer of the army, he has 6 Lieutenant Generals under him and many Majors at the third rank.

"Yes, it's me!" General Adam speaks up, "It's my direct orders, return to the control room immediately! And no need to worry about the civilians. They all are safe, they have been successfully transported to the refugee camps."

"Okay Sir!" Coogler replied instantly, "We are heading back quickly!"

He puts down the handset, and turns to Azoff and the others and speaks up loudly, "General Sebastian Adam has ordered us to return back to the control room immediately!"

"Okay then, let's head back!" Azoff added.

All of the soldiers quickly went back to get into the military trucks and headed to the control room to discuss the situation with the General.

There were only 150 soldiers alive after their first battle with those monsters; they had lost about more than 100 of them.
