Chapter 210 - Chapter 210: The Beautiful Girl, Is She Omnipotent?

"Hey!? What's going on?!"

"Is there anyone here with healing abilities?! We need help!"

The chaos had undeniably intensified after the man who claimed to have the ability to rewind time collapsed.

Carolina, standing beside Elysia, initially looked flustered, but she quickly realized the situation was beyond her control. No matter how things unfolded, it had nothing to do with her.

Carolina was just an ordinary Evolver with a minor ability to conjure and manipulate fire. Investigating the deaths of the White Eagle Eight or seeking revenge for them was clearly not her responsibility.

Swallowing hard, she quietly said to Elysia, "Let's go. We should get your identity papers sorted out first..."

As they walked, Carolina, perhaps fearing Elysia wouldn't grasp the gravity of the situation, explained who the White Eagle Eight were.

Though Elysia outwardly adopted the demeanor of an attentive student, nodding occasionally, she was intimately familiar with the White Eagle Eight. In fact, two of the surviving members were quite close to her.

It had to be Mad Lion and Hermit.

But Elysia was more puzzled about who would dare attack the White Eagle Eight. Even if Lady Kaya had been hastily elected, her strength couldn't be too weak. She must be stronger than at least 95% of all Evolvers, right?

Elysia's first thought was the Sakura Nation, but they had already surrendered. Why would they risk a clandestine assassination now?

Then... what about the European Union, Great Britain, the Bear Nation, or the Dragon Nation? That seemed unlikely too; none of those four great powers would benefit from this incident.

So, who stood to gain the most if this place descended into chaos after the death of a member of the White Eagle Eight?

For some reason, Elysia suddenly remembered a news article she had recently read about a cult called the Eldritch Concord.

Of course, this was just a hunch—she had no solid evidence. Soon, she and Carolina pushed through the chaotic crowd and successfully entered the White Tower.

"Hey! Old White!" Carolina shouted at the bearded man behind the reception desk as they stepped inside. "New recruit! We've got a job!"

"A new recruit? Who has time for that now..." The bearded man known as Old White grumbled, looking up irritably. His eyes widened in the next moment.

His tone shifted abruptly as he straightened up, adopting a solemn expression. "Ahem, is this lovely pink-haired young lady our new recruit? An independent Evolver seeking to join Lady Kaya's ranks?"

Old White trailed off, an awkward expression creeping onto his face.

Officially, the White Tower was the private property of the White Eagle Eight. Joining the Tower meant joining the ranks of one of the Eight. But the problem was, the leader of this particular Tower had just died!

It's worth noting that joining the White Tower in the White Eagle Nation offered fewer benefits than one might imagine: merely a meager salary and a sliver of authority.

Everyone here was an Evolver, and in a place like the White Eagle Nation, those with genuine ability could easily earn more on their own. The Tower's wages were paltry by comparison. As for that scrap of authority? It essentially amounted to relaying and enforcing the decisions of the White Eagle Eight upon ordinary citizens—hardly a position of power.

So why were so many still eager to join the White Tower? The primary reason was hero worship, pure and simple!

Perhaps it was the personal charisma of the White Eagle Eight, their formidable strength, or their extraordinary experiences—whatever the reason, every child born in White Eagle grew up hearing tales of these legendary figures.

They effortlessly repelled Great Britain's invasion, saving the nation.

They resolved disasters caused by Dimensional Rifts as casually as drinking water or eating a meal.

They were walking natural disasters, invincible in every endeavor!

In White Eagle textbooks, the White Eagle Eight were hailed as the world's eight most powerful Superhumans. To serve alongside such extraordinary figures was considered an unparalleled honor, wasn't it?

However, given that Lady Kaya, the master of the White Tower, had recently passed away, this reverence now carried a bitter irony.

Just as Old White was beginning to feel awkward, Carolina interjected, "No, no, no. Elysia isn't a homegrown Evolver; she's an Outsider. Didn't I just finish dealing with that Dimensional Rift? She emerged from it."

"Huh?" Old White's expression froze in shock. "An... an Outsider?!"

The next moment, he asked, "Miss Elysia, is it? What... what are your capabilities?"

White Eagle had encountered Outsiders several times throughout its history, with two even rising to become members of the White Eagle Eight. If Old White's initial gaze at Elysia had been one of stunned admiration for her beauty, it now carried a hint of anticipation as well.

Hearing the question, Elysia immediately struck a pose with her hands on her hips. "Of course I'm super~ amazing! Isn't it obvious that a beautiful young girl can do anything~?"

Old White: "..."

To say the least, her response was completely unexpected. Nevertheless, he replied, "Then... come with me. I'll take you to meet someone."

The three entered the elevator, which ascended to the thirty-first floor. As soon as Elysia stepped out, she was greeted by a vibrant azure sky.

The wall directly opposite the elevator was shattered—this was where Lady Kaya had met her end.

At this moment, a man with a head so smooth it nearly reflected light, completely bald and with heavy dark circles under his eyes, was hunched over, searching for something.

"Mr. Burke," Old White said, bowing slightly and speaking respectfully.

"What is it?" the bald man replied without looking up, his voice low and listless.

"This is Miss Elysia, an Outsider who recently appeared and possesses formidable strength," Old White said, gesturing to Elysia beside him.

Hearing this, the bald man abruptly raised his head and turned to Elysia. For some reason, in his murky eyes, she thought she saw a glimmer of something akin to hope.

It's worth noting that this bald man was essentially the White Tower's second-in-command. During the Martyr's era, he had served faithfully by the Martyr's side as a capable assistant, a handsome young man with a thick head of dark hair.

But after the Martyr's death, the countless artifacts he had created vanished instantly, plunging the land into chaos. Burke was forced to step up, working tirelessly day and night to manage the crisis.

Finally, after enduring for so long, a new member of the White Eagle Eight was appointed. Burke thought he could finally catch a break, but to his horror, the newly appointed White Eagle Eight was assassinated within days.

If anyone had reason to hate the assassin, it was undoubtedly Burke.
