Chapter 233 - Grandmaster’s Eyes Nearly Burst with Rage

"Brat, what tricks are you trying to pull this time?"

Before Dugubo even landed, his voice had already echoed out.

Tang San hurriedly said, "Senior Dugu, someone broke into your medicinal garden and ruined your herbs!"

Though he desperately needed Dugubo to save him, he understood very well that Dugubo was ruthless, temperamental, and unpredictable.

He had to explain immediately that he wasn't the one who damaged the herbs—otherwise, if this old venomous monster exploded in anger, Tang San might die before he could even beg.

For someone like Dugubo, killing a Soul Elder like Tang San was easier than crushing an ant.

Dugubo was stunned for a moment. Landing on the ground, he didn't spare Tang San a glance and rushed straight toward the Ice–Fire Yin Yang Well.

One look and his face twisted.

The valley, once lush with herbs—thriving, vibrant, filled with precious spirit plants—now looked barren and stripped clean.

Most of the herbs were naturally grown; a small portion he had painstakingly transplanted here.

But now, only a scattered handful remained—not even half of what was originally there.

"Bastard!"

Dugubo roared, fury erupting like a volcano. His figure blurred into a green shadow and instantly appeared before Tang San, grabbing him by the neck and lifting him into the air.

A terrifying emerald hue spread from Tang San's neck across his skin, inch by inch.

The overwhelming killing intent made Tang San's scalp numb. He shouted rapidly, voice cracking:

"Senior! It wasn't me! Someone else did it!"

The green poison halted—and then quickly receded back into Dugubo's hand like a retreating tide.

But Dugubo still didn't let Tang San go. His voice was like ice:

"Say it. Who?"

"It was Ao Tian. The moment you left at dawn, he came. His goal was these herbs. I know how important this place is to you, Senior—I fought with everything I had, but I couldn't stop him!" Tang San said at lightning speed.

One second too late, and his neck would be snapped.

"What is Ao Tian's cultivation?" Dugubo demanded.

"Spirit Elder—Soul Zun."

Dugubo's fury spiked. He slammed Tang San to the ground violently and roared:

"Trash! Aren't you supposed to be good at fighting?! My granddaughter's poison is unbeatable in the Soul Elder realm—you broke through even that! And yet you're telling me you lost to a Soul Zun?!"

At this moment, Dugubo truly wanted to stomp Tang San to death.

He had transplanted countless herbs here over the years, hoping to find a cure for his own poison.

And now half of them were gone. How could he not be enraged?

Tang San coughed uncontrollably from the toss, nearly reigniting the internal injuries he had forcibly suppressed.

After a long moment, he stabilized himself and said weakly:

"That Ao Tian is a monstrous genius. At only rank 32, he already possesses the combat strength of a Soul Ancestor. I've fought him many times—and never once won."

Dugubo's expression grew colder. "Do you take me for a fool? Thirty-second rank having Soul Ancestor combat ability? Impossible."

"It's true. He used to study at Shrek Academy. If you don't believe me, you can ask the teachers and students there—they can all testify."

Dugubo's heart trembled. After a moment of silence, he asked:

"There really is such a prodigy?"

"Truly. Ao Tian should still be inside Heaven Dou City right now," Tang San said.

"Dare to steal from me? Genius or not—he must die!" Dugubo's killing intent surged like a freezing storm.

Tang San quickly shouted, "Senior, I was gravely injured by Ao Tian. All four of my limbs are broken. Could you please send me back to Shrek Academy for treatment? I promise—once I recover, I'll help you resolve the poison in your body. I, Tang San, never break my word!"

Dugubo stared into Tang San's eyes, venom-green pupils cold.

"If I let you return… what if you run?"

Tang San answered, "A monk may run, but the temple cannot. My teacher and companions are all at Shrek. Where can I run? And besides—if I die, no one will be able to cure the poison in you or your granddaughter."

Dugubo paused for a few seconds.

"Sharp-tongued brat."

He walked forward and examined Tang San's limbs. His expression darkened—each limb was truly shattered.

With one grab, he lifted Tang San by the collar and leaped toward the cliff.

Even carrying a whole person, Dugubo's movements remained swift and light. A simple tap of his toes sent him rising several meters at a time. Soon, he reached the cliff top with ease.

Then he suddenly sneered.

"So, another blind fool dares intrude into my territory?"

Without hesitation, he carried Tang San and moved toward the foot of the mountain.

At the base, the Grandmaster, Flender, and Liu Erlong stood together.

The Grandmaster stared at the poisonous terrain ahead, brows furrowed. "This place is dangerous. Poison everywhere. It must be the old poison freak's lair."

Flender snapped, "Then what are we waiting for? I'll fly you over. If we're another step too late, little San might really die!"

They had noticed Tang San's disappearance quickly. Faint traces of Dugubo's aura in the forest told them who took him.

After asking around at the Royal Academy, they learned Dugubo had a hideout in Sunset Forest.

They entered at dawn, searching nonstop until now—finally locating this toxic region.

Just as Flender prepared to pick up the Grandmaster and fly over, Dugubo descended with Tang San.

Dugubo paused upon seeing them. "Perfect. Saves me the trouble of taking him back."

The Grandmaster saw Tang San's pale face and limp limbs—his eyes nearly split apart in rage.

"Dugubo! You heartless demon—what have you done to my little San?!" he roared.

If Flender hadn't grabbed him, the Grandmaster would've charged straight in.

Flender maintained some rationality. "Xiao Gang, little San is still in his hands. Don't lose your head. If we can talk, don't fight."

"Teacher, I'm fine! Senior Dugu didn't injure me!" Tang San shouted anxiously.

He was terrified the Grandmaster would provoke Dugubo.

The Grandmaster froze—then forced himself to calm down.

His earlier outburst was simply because he cared too much. Seeing Tang San in such a condition nearly broke him.

Dugubo dropped Tang San in front of them. "This boy wasn't injured by me. Someone else hurt him. Take him away."

The Grandmaster crouched down and inspected Tang San rapidly. After a few seconds, his eyes turned blood-red with fury.

"Little San… which bastard did this to you?!"

Tang San's limbs were shattered, and those dozens of blackened lumps of necrotic flesh across his body were horrifying. A single glance told the Grandmaster these were rotting tissues—life-threatening if not cut away immediately.

Tang San said weakly, "Teacher, this isn't the place to talk. Take me back for treatment first. Then I'll explain everything."

"Yes—yes, we treat you first," the Grandmaster said, moving to carry him.

"Let me." Flender stepped forward.

The Grandmaster nodded and helped lift Tang San onto Flender's back.

Dugubo said coldly, "Tang San, remember our agreement. If you dare run… none of your friends or family will survive."

"Rest assured, Senior. I keep my promises," Tang San replied.

"Hmph. Go. I'll come find you when you've recovered," Dugubo said, waving them off.

Flender spread his spirit wings, carrying Tang San at full speed.

Liu Erlong dragged the Grandmaster along. Their speed was just as fierce. The four quickly left Sunset Forest and rushed toward Heaven Dou City.
