Grandmaster frowned. "Xiao San, Ao Tian doesn't have any deep hatred with you, does he? Why would he be this ruthless?"
Oscar spoke up. "Master, did you forget? Xiao San once snuck a look at Ao Tian's book. Maybe Ao Tian held a grudge and decided to take revenge."
Ma Hongjun growled, "I knew that guy Ao Tian wasn't any good. Back then he pretended to be all forgiving, acting generous toward Tang San. Now he turns around and settles the score? Hypocritical to the extreme."
"It's not because of that," Tang San said.
"Then what is it? Tell us," Grandmaster pressed.
"After I was captured by Dugu Bo…"
"Around the Ice-Fire Yin Yang Well, there are countless priceless herbs. Some of them can increase soul power by several levels just from eating one. They can even improve talent—and with absolutely no side effects."
Everyone in the room sucked in a sharp breath.
Tang San's words were too shocking. Herbs that could raise several levels at once? How could such divine treasures exist?
Dai Mubai grew even more excited and quickly asked, "Tang San, is that really true?"
Tang San nodded. "It's true. When I was little, I found an ancient book that recorded many precious herbs."
Dai Mubai's eyes burned with heat. What he lacked right now was cultivation. He had trained fewer years than Boss Dai and lagged far behind. If he could obtain such treasures… catching up would be easy.
Tang San understood Dai Mubai's thoughts and sighed. "Don't even think about it. Ao Tian already took all the herbs."
Dai Mubai froze, then frowned. "So he injured you because of those herbs?"
Tang San said, "Yes. I was about to pick them when he showed up and tried to take every single one. I knew I wasn't his match, so I begged him to leave me just two. He refused. To protect the herbs, I fought him. I didn't expect he'd strike so heavily—I ended up seriously injured."
Ma Hongjun's eyes lit up. "Then if we find Ao Tian, we can take those herbs back!"
Dai Mubai was also tempted, already thinking of ways to track Ao Tian.
Grandmaster said, "All these years, I've never been able to figure out who Chu Ao Tian really is. He, Xiao Wu, and Gu Yue Na… those three feel like they just appeared out of thin air. Since he has already left Shrek Academy and even injured Xiao San, we no longer need to show mercy. If we meet him, he owes Xiao San an explanation."
"And he must hand over the herbs he stole," Ma Hongjun said.
Seeing Tang San's tired expression, Grandmaster waved his hand. "Alright, everyone return. Let Xiao San rest."
People started leaving. Grandmaster then told Oscar, "Oscar, take care of Xiao San. Give him one of your sausages every so often."
"Don't worry, Master. Leave it to me," Oscar said.
Just as Grandmaster was about to step out, Tang San called out, "Teacher, if possible, we must find Ao Tian quickly and take those herbs back. With them, us Soul Elder-level students could increase our soul power by at least five ranks."
Five ranks of soul power!
Grandmaster trembled slightly, then nodded. "Rest well. Leave this matter to us."
Among the herbs Ao Tian picked, at least seven or eight were of the immortal-grade. Some required special methods or their medicinal potency would be lost, but others could be collected without such precision.
If they could find Ao Tian early… maybe they could recover a few usable immortal herbs.
"Ao Tian, you better not eat a poisonous immortal herb. Stay alive—so I can take revenge," Tang San thought.
Grandmaster exited the room. Flender, Liu Erlong, and Zhao Wuji were still waiting outside. Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun also hadn't left.
Grandmaster said, "Xiao San told us some of those herbs Ao Tian stole could raise a Soul Elder's level by five ranks. We must find Ao Tian quickly and take back what belongs to him."
"Right, before Ao Tian eats everything!" Ma Hongjun said.
Dai Mubai added, "These past few days, the Prince's Mansion soldiers have been searching the city for Ao Tian. Wanted posters are everywhere. If he falls into their hands, it'll be troublesome."
Grandmaster's eyes flickered. "If Ao Tian really is caught by the Prince… that may not be a bad thing. Saves us the trouble of searching."
"Xiao Gang, what do you mean?" Flender asked.
Liu Erlong understood first. "Didn't Xiao San say he can help Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan detoxify? We can ask Dugu Bo for help."
Flender's eyes lit up. "Good idea. Snow Prince shouldn't have trouble locating someone in Heaven Dou City. We just need to keep an eye on the wanted notices."
Grandmaster sighed. "I just worry Ao Tian might eat all those precious herbs."
Flender sighed. "If he does, then we can only accept fate."
He looked at Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun. "Both of you, go back and cultivate. Don't dream of shortcuts. Cultivation requires steady steps."
"Yes, Teacher / Dean," they replied.
After they left, Liu Erlong said, "I'll arrange people to watch the Prince's Mansion starting tomorrow morning."
"Trouble you," Grandmaster said.
They were still thinking about Tang San's immortal herbs, completely unaware that Ao Tian had already refined them into pills.
…
At dawn, as the sky barely brightened, Zhu Zhuqing hurried out and rushed to Ao Tian's door.
She looked extremely excited, clearly wanting to share some good news.
She raised her hand to knock, but suddenly paused and leaned her ear against the door.
Hearing no… questionable noises, she breathed in relief and tapped gently.
Ao Tian rolled off the bed with a helpless sigh. "Don't blame me. That little girl came this early."
Gu Yue Na shot him a glare. "She must have broken through and can't wait to thank you."
Ao Tian flicked his hand, and his clothes floated over and slid onto his body. Then he walked toward the door.
"Put on your clothes," he called back without turning.
Gu Yue Na rolled her eyes and instead grabbed a blanket, covering her body that could make any man lose his mind.
Ao Tian opened the door and dispelled the anti-eavesdropping barrier.
Zhu Zhuqing had waited a moment… no response.
"They probably haven't gotten up yet," she thought.
Just as she turned to leave, the door opened.
"So early—what's the matter?" Ao Tian asked.
Zhu Zhuqing glanced toward Ning Rongrong's room and whispered, "Rongrong should still be asleep. Let me talk inside."
Ao Tian stepped aside to let her in and closed the door.
The moment Zhu Zhuqing entered, she felt something strange—the room was much warmer than outside, the air slightly humid…and a faint fragrance lingered, stirring a subtle heat beneath the skin.
She looked toward the bed—and her cheeks instantly turned scarlet.
