Chapter XLVIII: A Day at School
As the sun rises from the horizon and sweeps away the night, the different students of Class 2-A gets prepared for school. However for Hanako, she is still asleep like a cat although her alarm clock had already rung while on the flip side, Tengen and Gin wait at the station for the train. Asahi also overslept and rushes after noticing what time it is. Kota gets on his motorcycle and drives himself to school. While on the way, he also notifies Akiko.
When Kota arrives at the classroom, Enmei is already there.
"Bruh, how did you get into the classroom while the class rep isn't here yet?" (Kota)
"Well actually, she gave me a duplicate since I'm the earliest to enter here every day. Since I'm always the first one to arrive here, she approached me and talked about it." (Enmei)
"So that's a duplicate right? I take it that she also has the original?" (Kota)
"Of course. But if she's earlier than me, then it's two keys for a hole." (Enmei)
They then both laugh at his joke. After 15 minutes, Hanako also shows up, followed by Satou, Toshiro, and the others. Gin also shows up just a minute before the bell rings since he had to buy something at a nearby convenience store. 20 minutes after the bell rings, Asahi then shows up and only gets 20% of the teacher's discussion. The teacher then makes them do a lot of groupworks. After that, another teacher then switches with the previous one and discusses about their research studies.
"I hate to break it to all of you but are your manuscripts finished? If not then, it's really hard for you all to finish these and I am not the one in charge of the upcoming congress at the University of Tsukuba. You can give comment to what I'm saying here."
Class 2-A actually doesn't have a comment on that but suddenly, the instructor gets mad at them and walks out immediately.
"Kota, you should have said something to him" (Gin)
"Well I was but-" (Kota)
Their homeroom teacher then walks in.
"I've gotten a call from Dr. Yamada. Why didn't you just said anything to him?", she asks.
"Actually ma'am, since we were actually pressured at the time he said that, we zoned out for a bit and can't think straight if we can really finish our manuscripts. He might be moody right now since when he entered here, he looks tense and stressed", says the Class rep.
"You know, he's a very busy man, and since there is time left of his class, I think-" (Homeroom teacher)
"We should all go apologize to him right now!", the whole class says in unison.
They then all go to his office. Dr. Yamada comes out startled.
"Doctor, we all have something to say to you" (Class Rep)
"Yes, and what is it?" (Dr. Yamada)
"We all wanted to apologize for our behavior earlier such as not commenting earlier" (Class Rep)
"Since we were caught up with something else at that time on our minds and we really can't give any comment, we're really sorry" (Another Classmate)
"Well to be honest with you all, what you all did was actually rude and I have to be straight. I guided you all in your research but never did any of you, did this to me until now. However, I'll give you another chance since I treated you as a children to me, helping you all in your manuscripts. Shall we all shake hands and pretend that this never happened? " (Dr. Yamada)
"Ok, sir. Thanks sir", all of them say to him while shaking his hand. After that, they all bow to him in respect.
In the afternoon session, as the English teacher arrives, she makes them do an activity.
"Alright everybody, take a piece of paper. On that paper, list down some things that others might not know about you. It can be a hidden skill, talent, hobby, or anything that they don't know about you. This is how well you know the person", she says.
The students do what she had instructed them to do and submitted the paper to her. She then shuffle the papers and says,
"I'll read it aloud and y'all will try to guess who is this person. Y'all ready? Ok let us begin. First off, this person watches late at night; listens to hardcore music; loves to smash?; and listens to ASMR every night, hmm. Who do you think this person is?",
The class then tries to guess who is the person.
"Asahi!" (Gin)
"Bruh what? Nah it's not me!" (Asahi)
"Then I think it's Hanako" (Enmei)
"Bish wtf- Do you think I listen to some burning rice cakes at night?" (Hanako)
"No but I think you would, hahaha" (Kota)
After a second or two, the English teacher reveals it.
"It's actually Tengen."
The whole class is then surprised with this. She continues,
"Next one, is a person who loves sushi and can't actually do a rock n' roll sign on both hands."
The class rep then orders them all to do a rock n roll sign on both hands and they simply figured it out who was it and it was the one, second to the class rep.
"Oh this reminds me of that one anime where an introverted girl is good at playing the electric guitar and joins a rock band" (Akiko)
"I think I have watched it. The pink-haired girl, right?" (Kota)
"Yah, that's the one!" (Akiko)
"Oh I loved that anime, it's very relatable" (Kota)
"Next is we have, this person loves cycling and watches late at night," (The English teacher)
They already knew that it was Gin but as she continues,
"He also loves boxing", they are having question marks all over their faces.
"Believe or not, it's Kota", she says.
"What? I couldn't believe it", they say.
"That is why I said believe or not", she responds.
"I-I didn't know that you box", says Akiko to him.
"Well there are many things you don't know about me during the pandemic", Kota replies to him.
The class is amazed and asks Kota to demonstrate it in front of them. He then does a Dempsey Roll, rolling in side motions and delivers numerous punches once at the angle. The class goes wild while he's demonstrating this. The teacher continues but gets a call and dismisses them, since she's going to have an urgent meeting later with the rest of the teachers.
Kota, Akiko, Asahi, Enmei, Hanako, and Gin then goes to the café. While waiting for their orders, they play ICHI!.
"Hey, what if we get into an alliance to beat Hanako?", Gin says to Kota as he persuades him.
"Ok then, let's go! haha", Kota responds.
They play a strategic point towards Hanako and thus making her to have multiple cards at once. The others have already ran out of cards which lefts Hanako to lose. The two celebrated for their strategy. But after ten minutes, Gin leaves due to an important family business they have at home.
At the strike of 5pm, they all leave except for Akiko and Kota. They still hangout in the café.
"Hey, wanna stream anime episodes?" (Kota)
"Heck yeah I want to!" (Akiko)
"It's the latest episode of the Problematic Heart" (Kota)
"Wait a minute, SPOILER! I haven't watched this series" (Akiko)
"Oh, ok then. So, wanna watch the latest First One Who Confesses, Loses the Game! Movie?" (Kota)
"Yoooow, I haven't watched it, how did you guess it?" (Akiko)
"Hey, I can estimate the amount of school activities we have during classes each day wherein our time is consumed and this movie was just released a week ago." (Kota)
"Ah nice, then what are we waiting for, let's watch it now!" (Akiko)
They soon watch the full movie. After that they both go home.
