Chapter XLIX: Chills and Thrills
Another day at school commences and the students finished all homework the teachers had given them yesterday. Right after their class for the morning session, Kota and the squad gathers.
"Hey guys, have you heard of the new amusement park downtown?" (Kota)
"Oh, are you talking about the one at the riverside?" (Hanako)
"I think it just opened yesterday at night" (Asahi)
"Yeah, I was thinking, what if we all go this night? Are y'all in?" (Kota)
Enmei, Hanako, and Asahi gets excited about this.
"What about you Gin?" (Kota)
"Well I wish to come but, I hail from a far place right? It's hard to catch the train at night." (Gin)
"Oh yeah, sorry about that, my bad." (Kota)
"It's ok, same also goes for Tengen." Gin then pulls Kota's ear and whispers,
"And you already know of the current situation they have and Hanako."
Kota then remembers about what happened on Valentine's Day.
At that time, they then talk about the possible rides they'll find at the amusement park. After a while, Akiko and Natsuki get back. Intrigued by their conversation, she couldn't help but ask,
"Hey, what y'all talking about?" (Akiko)
"Oh, about the amusement park at the riverside. We were planning to go there this night. Wanna join?" (Enmei)
"Well, I'm not sure but I'mma ask my grandma about this." (Akiko)
She then texts her grandma about this. At the other end, her grandma picks up the phone.
"Hey sonny, how do I type here again?", she asks Akiko's brother.
Akiko's brother then directs her fingers into the screen since it is touch-screen and not a keypad phone like she used to text with. Akiko then receives a thumbs up meaning she has permission to join.
"Ok, now I can join", she says.
At night, they all gather in front of the entrance of the amusement park.
"You guys ready?" Kota asks them.
"HELL YEAH!", they all exclaim.
As they enter, one can find a large Ferris Wheel that looks similar to the Eye of London, a roller coaster that stretches up to the sky, game booths, an octopus ride, and a horror train. They decide what ride they should try out first.
"What do you guys think?" (Kota)
"I think, the large boat over there, next to the Ferris wheel" (Hanako)
"Oh you mean the Britannic?" (Akiko)
"Yeah, let's try out that first" (Enmei and Asahi)
They all agree to ride the Britannic and went there. As the ride begins, it sways moderately, and after a few seconds, things begin to sway more violently. At one point, Asahi's grip on the metal bar slips and almost gets thrown away but Natsuki grabs him. After 5 minutes, the ride begins to slow down. They then get off the ride having Asahi almost out of breath.
Their next stop is the Octopus Ride which is actually based on the main antagonist of The Tentacle Monster is Teaching a Classroom!. While on their way to the said ride, they pass by a lot of food stalls and game booths. Enmei wants to try it out so he pays to spin the wheel but he loses. He plays again for 5 rounds again and as he gambles, he eventually loses half of his money. At that point, they then continue to the Octopus Ride.
As they approach the ride, they all sing the opening song of The Tentacle Monster is Teaching a Classroom! Since all seats come in pairs, Akiko goes with Hanako, Kota goes with Enmei, while Asahi is alone in one of the carts and Natsuki is left at the bottom. While waiting for the other passengers,
"HEY! What's your name?" (Enmei)
"WHAT?!" (Asahi)
"What is your NAME?" (Enmei)
"You know what I did last night?!" (Asahi)
"You better not bring my mother into this!" (Enmei)
"You know what I did?!" (Asahi)
"You better not!" (Enmei)
At this very point, Enmei and Asahi make a meme while waiting. The ride then begins with each tentacle gently elevates and drops until for a minute later, the speed increases and the ride spins. After another 5 minutes, it moderately slows down.
While exiting the ride, the squad then bumps into Satou and his friends. So the next ride they want to try out is the Horror train.
"A horror train? *breathes deeply* Yeah I haven't tried one since you already know about my mom, being conservative and shizz, and frankly I'm a bit of scared" (Kota)
"Well, I have a tip for you. I got it from my friend, the one we bumped into during the comic con." (Akiko)
"Yeah, and what is it?" (Kota)
"Jam your earphones into your ears and listen to your favorite music during the ride." (Akiko)
"Oh ok, I'll try it" (Kota)
They go inside the carts and as they move, the ground trembles. Upon entering the tunnel, Hanako pops a candy into her mouth but eventually blocks her throat making her to scream like the anime, The Pastimers Club. With these, those who dare to jumpscare people didn't continue to scare them off because they're already afraid of Hanako's screaming while Akiko helps her to lodge out the candy. Th first tunnel have passed but ahead is not the end but another tunnel again.
"Wait a minute, this feels like My Sister is a Demon: Off the Tracks" (Akiko)
"Yeah, it feels like watching it in 3D" (Kota)
Inside the tunnel, it displays a red color and as the light flickers, it reveals to be the same location as the said anime movie. A guy dressed similar to that of an antagonist in the movie is also there while the other passengers are already asleep.
"Guys wake up! Oh wait- *yawns*" (Enmei)
From the back, a large silhouette draws close to them. Out of the blues, it was the main antagonist of the series popping in front of them but they're not amused at all. At the end of the tunnel, they then get off the carts.
After the horror train, next up is the Rollercoaster. Enmei sits with Asahi, while Akiko sits with Kota, and Natsuki with Hanako. The ride then starts with a speedy movement but as it goes down the hill, the speed increases with a high velocity and acceralation. As they go for the loop, they all feel the thrill, most especially for Hanako who yells, "AH! I LOVE OCHINCHINS !" while the others look at him with suspense. From the bottom, Natsuki is seen laughing as she is recording the video of the whole thing. As the ride ends, they get off.
"Glad that's over with" (Enmei)
"Hey, y'all check your pants maybe someone wet his or hers" (Kota)
"Nah, we're fine here" (Akiko and Asahi)
"Nah I don't think so." (Natsuki)
She then checks Hanako's skirt and says,
"Yeah...you're fine, for someone who yelled 'something'! It was so loud lol"
The whole squad then laughs. After then, they go to the Ferris wheel.
The seating arrangement is the same as the rollercoaster. As they get in places and as the ride begins to move,
"You know this is actually my first Ferris wheel ride" (Kota)
"Oh, didn't you had one in your childhood?" (Akiko)
"Nah, my fam isn't a fan of the Ferris wheel. And-" (Kota)
The ride shakes violently due to the strong winds. Kota gets nervous of this.
"Are you getting nervous?" (Akiko)
"Just a bit, um yeah?" (Kota)
"It's going to be fine, just enjoy the ride" (Akiko)
"Ok, I'll try" (Kota)
"Hey, you're right beside me, nothing bad will happen if I'm with you. Even if I do this" (Akiko)
She then shakes the cart.
"Woah, woah, woah. Stop it, I'm still getting the hang of it" (Kota)
"It's ok, it's ok. It's just my inner goblin you see, hahaha" (Akiko)
"Ah hahaha reminds me of those from the anime." (Kota)
As they reach the top, they see a nice view of the skyline while fireworks flicker in the background. They look at each other and hug. Akiko then kisses him on the cheeks again. From the other cart,
"Hi lovebirds!"
They turn around and it turns out to be Asahi and Enmei. After another five minutes, they get off. Like they weren't satisfied, they go for another round at the Octopus however, just after the ride, they all go to the trash bins to throw up with the exception for Asahi, Hanako, and Akiko.
"Bruh, I feel like I'm drunk walking out of here" (Kota)
"Same here" (Enmei)
As they don't feel so good, they both go home together with Asahi and Natsuki, leaving Akiko and Hanako behind.
"Ok, have fun!", they say to Akiko and Hanako.
The pair then go for another rounds on the different rides again.
