"Well, this is taking longer than usual." Kai was lying on a couch in the resistance, throwing a ball at the wall and having it bounce back to him.
Nadya was snuggled up next to him and was sleeping soundly. Others wanted to snuggle with Kai, but he wanted an arm free so he could throw the ball. Karumi, however, did rest on his lap because she was able to turn into a small fox.
Of course, this pissed off Amaya, but she couldn't turn into a small cat, so she accepted her defeat.
'Wait a minute, I can just give her the ability to turn into a cat! I'm a genius!'
"Amaya, come here."
"Yes?"
"Do you wanna be able to turn into a cat while keeping your abilities?"
Her eyes instantly lit up. "Yes! Yes, please!"
"Your wish is my command." Kai snapped his fingers, and a spiraling mist surrounded Amaya.
She could feel something new in her body, a new instinct, an ability to change her form.
At her will, Amaya changed into a cat the jumped on Kai's belly.
"Oof!"
