When Kai and Osiren made it back to the resistance base, he was horrified by what it had become. The burning mountain, the dead bodies, and the many injured people broke his heart.
"I failed them." He cried, dropping to his knees. "I'm their prince, and I failed them. They believed in me, and I let them down."
"For real. You let them die for no fucking reason. You're a pretty shitty prince, not gonna lie."
Osiren looked at Kai, slightly confused and full of anger.
"What? Did you expect me to rub your back and tell you how it's not your fault or something shitty like that? Hell nah. Get the fuck up, work isn't finished yet. Cry like a bitch some other time."
Though his words were harsh, Osiren knew what Kai was saying was the truth. He couldn't fall right now, he couldn't break down, and he couldn't let the people who followed him die in vain. He had to stand up and fight for them, for what they believed in.
"Yes, you're right. I'm sorry you had to see that side of me."
