The noisy sound from the hall was faintly audible from where I was.
I sat inside for a while, trying to join in. But fatigue quickly set in. Not in my body, but in my mind.
I went out because I wanted to be quiet. But, There she is.
Fukamizu sat on the steps, her back against a wooden post, and a notebook on her lap.
"Too noisy, huh?" She asked.
I sit down slowly on the stairs.
"Yeah, you're right."
"Me too, that's why I wrote something."
"Homework?" Sakura ask
"No. I'm trying to write a novel or something."
"You're a writer??"
"I think no... Because i only do this when i'm bored or there's something inside my head."
She opened the page, then showed me a glimpse of the neat, slightly slanted handwriting.
"Just an initial draft. Not sure what it will be like."
"What is the story about?" Sakura asked
She shrugged. "About a quiet girl... a little weird, but calm."
"She always sit at the corner of the class, not speaking more than three words
"But the protagonist begin to realize... she understands silence better than other people understand sound."
I was silent for a moment.
She continued, reading slowly from her notes.
"She wasn't looking for attention, but when he was gone, the world felt a little quieter."
"The Protagonist doesn't know since when she has been waiting for someone like that."
"Maybe because for the first time, she wanted to be understood without having to explain who she was."
I didn't know what to say. But her words fells familiar...
And when i look at her, she didn't look at me... But her soft smile appeared, like she know i was listening to more than just the story.
"Just a fiction," She said while smiling
I nodded slowly. Knowing that inside my heart there's something warm.
Fiction... Huh... But why does it feel like I know that girl?.
Maybe... I was that girl?.
We sat in silence for a long time. There was no continuation of the story. There was no explanation. But I knew she wouldn't throw away that page.
"Will you continue the story?" I asked softly
"Maybe. But I don't know how it will end yet."
"Still waiting for inspiration."
I smiled softly
I hope i can be your inspiration
