[Rosie's POV ]
My body stiffened, muscles tensed as I tried to process the familiar scent.
Tilting my head to look at who it was, my eyes narrowed as a mix of shock and annoyance flooded me.
It was Austin, my ex! The very man who rejected me after that night at the motel.
My shoulders squared as I pulled away sharply, facing him. So many memories were finding their way to my head.
Austin's smile, once charming now seems out of place as he took a step back, probably sensing my discomfort.
"Rosie," he called, as if we had parted yesterday, his voice a little softer than before.
My eyebrows slightly furrowed as my lips pressed into a thin line.
"What are you doing here!" I flatly spat as I fumed at him.
His eyes lingered on my face as his gaze searched for a glimmer of the old me.
"Where have you been? I've been looking for you..."
"Why!" I snapped skeptically as I crossed my arms over my chest while wearing a defensive gesture.
