Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: road to king (7)

Satel walks out the room . As she walks out of the house she finds the demons setting up chairs and decorating.

Satel waltzes through the bust crowd in confusion. She weaves through and finally sees her father talking to some other demons.

She walks towards her father. When she reaches him she hides behind him then tugs his shirt.

The chief turned around and looked down at his daughter.

"Well hello sweetheart, what's this about?" The chief asked as he lifts her off her feet and places her on his shoulders.

He walks around with her as they oversee the decoration.

"I was going to ask you that same question," Satel said as she marveled at how beautiful the decorations were.

The chief smiled as a demon hang a 'Welcome home Satel' on the house in front of them.

Satel gasped in shock. The chief smiled.

"Well you spent three full years without coming home so, I thought we should give you a proper welcome home," the chief said as he let her down.

Satel hugged her father as she squealed with joy.

Night fell.

The years began. Shin finally woke up and joined the celebration. Demons rejoiced as they drank wine.

They feast, they stomp, they dance and chomp and marry good time. Satel and Bael get into a drink.

"If you out drink me Bael, I'll fulfil one of your request," Satel said half drunk.

"You're on," Bael responded.

The two began chugging drink after drink after drink. Shin stood with the chief, shocked by Satel and Bael.

"Hey Shin, follow me," the chief ordered.

Shin followed the chief as they went far from the houses into an open plane. The chief stood facing away from Shin.

Shin stood a few feet behind him. The chief turned around and looked at Shin with an unreadable expression on his face.

"What is it that you want," the chief asked, face still unreadable.

Shin paused for a moment. He gathered his thought.

What do I want?

Shin finally responded," to pay off my debt to your daughter and live a peaceful life."

The chief paused. He observed Shin with an eagle eye.

"Only a selfish king lives a peaceful life. Tell me Shin, are you selfish," the chief asked as he got closer to Shin.

The chief stopped right next to Shin.

"I never expected it to be fully peaceful. I just want a normal life surrounded by people who care for me," Shin responded.

The chief smiled as he grabbed Shin by the shoulder. He walked off, Shin followed behind.

"People who care for ey? How about my daughter," the chief asked.

"What about her?," Shin asked, his cheeks turning red.

The chief smiled ," nothing , nothing at all."

The two walked back into the celebration. Shin walked towards Satel and Bael who were wasted.

Shin lifted Satel up and took her to her room. Shin placed her on the bed but she didn't want to let go.

Satel pulled Shin into the bed and wrapped herself around him. Shin blushed as he tried to pry her of to no avail.

He reluctantly stopped trying and just fell asleep cuddling her.

Outside the feast continued.
