Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Goddess’s Wrath

Location: Unknown

Venue: Goddess Temple

---

The goddess sat at the head of the table. All seven of her angels had gathered and sat around it.

The goddess turned her attention toward the six-winged angel.

"So... what is the update with Shin and his companion?" the goddess asked sternly.

The angel stood up. "They are currently on their way to the Demon God's temple," he answered.

The goddess looked around the room. She focused on the list on the wall, scoffed, then turned her attention back to the meeting at hand.

"And what of the progress from what we discussed last time?" the goddess asked, turning her head to face the six-winged angel.

The six-winged angel looked down for a second before meeting the goddess's gaze.

"We have spoken with the Lightning God and he was willing to gift us two evolved Red Thunder Apes and one awakened Red Thunder Vulture," the angel answered.

The goddess remained silent for a few seconds, contemplating whether that would be enough.

"What do we have?" she asked finally, looking up.

"We have all seven of us angels and one ascended Brilliant Peacock," the six-winged angel answered.

The goddess stayed silent once more, weighing the options.

"How about the negotiations with the other gods? How are they going?" the goddess asked.

The six-winged angel paused uncomfortably. He shifted nervously before answering.

"The other gods have refused to participate or help with anything involving the war against the demon race. The Dragon God specifically told me to say, 'She can shove a sock up her ass or go to war with me — no dragon will ever help her on the battlefield.' That is what he said," the six-winged angel answered.

The goddess's eye twitched with anger. She slammed her fist hard on the gold table, denting it.

The other angels flinched. The six-winged angel shifted nervously.

"That ungrateful bastard. I should reduce his kingdom to ashes," the goddess said in a fit of rage.

The six-winged angel was about to speak, then looked down. The goddess glared at him with fury in her eyes.

"What is it, Lance?!" the goddess demanded, still enraged.

Lance kept quiet and kept his head down. He fiddled with his hands before raising his head.

"Nothing, Your Majesty... it's that he said he is ready to enter the war and help the demon race since you are getting help from the beastmen," Lance finally said nervously.

The goddess tensed up in rage. She stood and tore the table in half.

"EVERYONE OUT!!!" the goddess yelled.

Her mana filled the room like a toxic fog. The angels quickly stood, bowed, and scurried off the table.

The goddess remained alone in her temple. She grabbed the remains of the golden table and threw them through the walls of the gold-and-quartz room.

She tensed in anger as the room groaned under the immense pressure of her mana. She turned her eyes toward the list.

The goddess stared intently at Bjorn's name.

"You," she said as she threw herself to the floor.
