Chapter 221 - Chapter 218: The Monster Who Punched the Ten Tails

Compared to the original anime, things were completely different.

There were no convenient hacks for Sasuke or Naruto this time.

No four reanimated Hokage swooping in to save the day.

Well, except for one.

Namikaze Minato never died in this timeline. But with three Hokage missing, the Allied Shinobi Forces had to make up for it in other ways by relying on raw strength.

This battlefield now had monsters like Jiraiya, Shisui, Konan, Hinata, Hanabi, and more.

Everyone had their own specialty, their own role to play.

After the brief meeting earlier, Guts learned from Terumi Mei about the current state of Akatsuki's survivors.

Kisame and Sasori? Dead.

Deidara? Captured by a sealing jutsu and out of the fight.

Overall, compared to the original timeline, the Allied Forces were actually winning.

After all, if the Sage of Six Paths didn't pull out some broken hacks like in the anime, then even a Nine-Tails Chakra Mode Naruto and Eternal Mangekyō Sasuke couldn't compete with the sheer firepower of Eternal Mangekyō Shisui and Tenseigan Hinata.

"Sensei!"

Shisui's Perfect Susanoo swooped overhead, casting an enormous shadow.

"It seems you've gotten pretty skilled with those eyes," Guts called up to him, grinning.

Then he gave a sharp order:

"Take the others and deal with the Ten Tails!"

"I see!"

Shisui nodded and made his Susanoo draw its dual swords in a brilliant flash of chakra.

The sight alone, the towering, armored warrior with twin blades gave the Allied Forces a surge of confidence.

Moments ago, they had been frozen by the Ten Tails' Tailed Beast Bomb.

Now, they had hope.

Meanwhile, the presence of Kakashi, Minato, and Uchiha Obito had vanished from the battlefield.

They had entered Kamui space.

A deadly battle had begun elsewhere.

Hoooooohhhhh!!!

Freed from Obito's control, the Ten Tails went berserk.

Its incomplete consciousness seethed in rage, lashing out as it roared to the heavens.

Madara, however, barely reacted.

All he needed was for the beast to grow a little more

Then Obito would cast the Rinne Rebirth.

Then he would become the Ten Tails' Jinchūriki.

Until then, the chaos didn't matter.

"Madara-sama, I've brought what you requested."

A White Zetsu clone appeared and whispered into his ear.

Madara's eyes narrowed. "I see. Keep an eye on Obito."

"I understand."

The clone melted back into the Ten Tails' flesh.

In a way, White Zetsu and the beast were one.

An afterimage blurred across the battlefield, stopping right before Madara.

He didn't even need his Rinnegan to know who it was.

"Don't forget," he said flatly, "I still control this beast."

As if on command, a massive tail swung down between Guts and Madara.

BOOOOM!!!

Guts' fist met the tail head-on.

The impact turned the colossal appendage into nothing but crushed meat, splattering across the battlefield.

"Miiiiingh—!!"

The Ten Tails screeched in agony.

Its broken tail began to regenerate immediately, while the other nine thrashed wildly, leveling mountains with each swing.

"Everyone, be careful!"

Hinata had recovered her chakra and was back in the fight, warning the troops as she dodged another tail strike.

As if that wasn't enough, the beast began to spawn countless miniature Ten Tails creatures, swarming toward the Alliance.

"What the hell are these things?! Its kids?!"

Anko swung Samehada, cutting the abominations down with a grimace.

"Gentle Fist Art—Eight Hundred Twenty-Four Palms!"

Hanabi blurred into a flash of orange light, striking through the creatures one after another, her Byakugan gleaming.

She and Hinata would handle this wave.

Madara, even as a reanimated corpse, had no interest in fighting Guts directly.

He had already admitted it, this man was on another level.

Instead, he used Hashirama's stolen Wood Style to channel his chakra into the Ten Tails, puppeteering it just enough to serve as an immortal meat shield.

The Ten Tails was, after all, the origin of all chakra.

Its regeneration was absurd.

Killing it outright was practically impossible.

That was why the Sage of Six Paths had sealed it instead.

Hooooooohhh!!!

Guts' fists rained down again and again, shaking the world.

Even the mindless beast could feel fear and rage, its massive Rinne-Sharingan glaring at him with primal hatred.

If anyone else saw that toothy grin aimed at them, they would've peed themselves on the spot.

"—Hhhhaaa…"

Guts exhaled slowly.

Advanced Conqueror's Haki crackled around his fist.

"Galaxy Divide."

His right fist erupted with power, delivering an uppercut straight into the beast's massive jaw.

PUUUMM!!

The Ten Tails, towering over a thousand meters high was launched into the air.

Its titanic body cast a shadow over the entire battlefield before slamming back down like a meteor.

Even Madara's legendary Tengai Shinsei meteorites hadn't shaken the earth like this.

"...He's a real monster, right!?"

Suigetsu gawked, his sword slack in his hands.

The rest of the Allied Forces stood frozen, equally stunned.

Guts had gone beyond the realm of "human."

He just punched the Ten Tails.

"What terrifying strength…"

Madara's eyes gleamed with rare excitement.

"In this regard, I, Uchiha Madara, can only call you… the strongest."

When the heavily injured Ten Tails tried to roll over and rise, its massive body trembling, Madara's expression shifted.

"...But now, the time is up," he said, voice low with excitement. "Let's begin the second round of our life-and-death battle!"

From the swirling space of Kamui, Uchiha Obito staggered out.

Defeated and bloodied, he had just barely escaped Kakashi and Namikaze Minato.

Madara had been waiting for this exact moment.

He immediately activated the curse seal embedded in Obito's body, ready to force him into casting the Rinne Rebirth.

His fingers moved in a series of hand signs

And then he froze.

What…?

The curse seal was gone.

Madara's eyes narrowed. He didn't understand what had happened inside Kamui space.

But Obito did.

He wasn't a fool. He had realized Madara's hidden trap, the curse seal buried deep in his body.

With Kakashi's helpspecifically, a Chidori piercing strike, he had torn the cursed imprint out during their battle.

"UAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

Obito let out a scream that echoed across the battlefield.

The Kamui space around him twisted violently.

The colossal, broken body of the Ten Tails was dragged toward him by an irresistible force, spiraling like a vortex.

In the final moment, the beast compressed into a massive sphere of flesh and chakra

Wrapping itself around Obito's body like a cocoon.

"…It failed."

Madara's voice was flat with disappointment, his frown deepening.

"Wow… unbelievable."

A booming voice cut through the tension.

Guts, standing in the crater he'd made, pointed at Kakashi and Minato as they leapt out of Kamui space.

"You two actually ganged up on him… and he still turned himself into the Jinchūriki anyway!? Seriously!?"

His roar shook the battlefield almost as much as his fists.
