Chapter 17 - 17

"Don't think too much, your brother will come back sooner or later." James comforted her in a gentle voice.

Emily's phone rang at this time. She took it out and saw that it was the phone number of Michael, Joseph's special assistant.

She turned around and walked to the other side to answer it.

On the phone, Michael reminded her about going to the Civil Affairs Bureau to register today.

Emily responded and hung up the phone.

"James, I have something else to do, I'm leaving first." Emily said hurriedly.

 "Emily!" James called her.

"What's wrong?" Emily looked back at him.

"Since you have signed the agreement, we can't get tens of millions to pay him back. Although it may be a wolf's den, I can only watch you go in. Sorry!" James looked guilty.

Emily smiled and said, "With you here, I'm not afraid of a den of wolves."

Hearing this, James's frown relaxed slightly, and he reminded her, "Before you apply for the certificate, ask if you can keep your marriage secret. Godmother said that you can't appear in the public eye."

 Emily nodded, "I know!"

When they arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau, Joseph hadn't arrived yet.

She sat in the registration hall and waited for a while before Assistant Mo hurried over.

"Emily. Just give me your household registration book." Assistant Mo said to Emily.

Emily took out her household registration book and ID card and handed them to Michael.

"Don't you need to go in person? Don't you have to take a photo?" Emily asked in confusion. She had guessed that Joseph would not come in person. .

"Don't worry, I've prepared all these." Michael said, and when he was about to go in, Emily suddenly called him.

"By the way, I have another request. Can we have a secret marriage? That is, not to make my marriage to him public?" Emily said.

"Can't make it public?" Michael was a little surprised. It would be an honor to marry their rich and powerful CEO. Wouldn't he be eager to announce it to the world the next second?

 "Can I?" Emily begged.

"I can't make the decision on this. Wait a minute, I'll ask the CEO!" Michael took out his cell phone and called Joseph.

He got a response soon. Michael nodded to Emily and walked into the registration office.

Not long after, Michael came out with two red books in his hands.

Emily was a little stunned. Now you don't need to go in person to get a marriage certificate?

"Okay, this is back to you!" Michael returned Emily's household registration book and ID card to her, but did not give her the marriage certificate.

When Emily took the household registration book and ID card, she said to Michael: "Now you should be completely sure that I am Emily, not the Emma you think!"

Assistant Mote smiled meaningfully and said with certainty: "Our president will never recognize the wrong person!"

"But the ID card clearly shows that my name is Emily!" Emily looked helpless. With such ironclad evidence, why did they insist that she was Emma?

"Then you can always tell me, what is the relationship between that Emma and your president? Couple, or husband and wife?" Emily asked curiously.

Michael adjusted the expensive glasses on his nose, looked at Emily with deep eyes, and smiled: "What is your relationship with the president? Don't you know it best?"

"I... I'm talking about the relationship between Emma and your president, not me!" Emily suddenly felt powerless when talking to this smart guy in front of her.

"I still have work to do, so I'll leave first." After Michael and Emily walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau together, they got into his car and left quickly.

Facing the blue sky and white clouds outside, Emily sighed heavily. From now on, she is a married person!

But Michael didn't even show her the marriage certificate just now. She really wanted to know where the photo on the marriage certificate came from.

When she returned to the suburban yard again, James was still there, and he didn't leave, waiting for her.

 "Registered?" James asked her.

Emily nodded: "Registered, and he also promised me that he would keep the marriage secret."

She didn't say that Joseph himself didn't come, and she only saw the outer shell of the marriage certificate, but didn't get it, nor did she see the content inside.

Some things, if said out loud, will make James, who is already uneasy, more suspicious and worried.

"That's good!" James frowned, "By the way, I'm not going to open an online store."

 "Why?"

"Now that you have achieved your goal, you can work at the Pharmaceutical Research Institute. We don't need to sell homemade pills online anymore. Although this business is good, the risks are also great." James said that in this situation, he had to be more cautious.

"Okay!" Emily is proficient in pharmacology and she is very confident in her medicine, but many external factors may change at any time.

Selling online like they do, there is an even greater risk of mutation.

"You are getting married today, let's go out for dinner and celebrate!" James pulled his lips with a bitter smile on his face.

"There's nothing to celebrate!" Emily pursed her lips, looked up at James, and seeing that he was hesitant to speak, she asked, "Do you want to say something to me?"

James glanced at her, turned around and walked out, and as he walked, he whispered to Emily who followed him, "If possible, let him fall in love with you!"

After hearing James' words clearly, Emily paused slightly.

"Why do you suddenly have such an idea?" She stood there, looking at James who was still walking forward.

James turned his head and looked at her seriously. His eyebrows twisted slightly and he said slowly: "Joseph is a very powerful man, but if you want such a man to help you sincerely and think about you one day in the future, you have to let him fall in love with you."
