On the battlefield, both the Avengers and the alien army were stunned. It was the first time they had witnessed so many Spider-Men appearing in this universe simultaneously. No one expected such an overwhelming presence of wall-crawlers.
Were these Spider-Men reinforcements summoned by Alex Ray?
Was it possible that Alex, a traveler from a parallel universe, had such powerful connections that he could summon this many Spider-Men? Could his multiversal specialty be Spider-Man-related? Was Alex himself a Spider-Man? Or perhaps he hailed from a Spider-Man-centric universe?
In the eyes of the Avengers, Alex Ray had become even more enigmatic. Not only did he possess the power to kill Thanos, but he also seemed to be on a first-name basis with dozens of Spider-Men. This made him appear both terrifying and unfathomable—definitely someone not to be trifled with.
And yes, this sudden wave of reinforcements was indeed requested by Alex. He had just been temporarily blasted away by Thanos, but that didn't stop him from planning.
Rather than rushing back into the fight immediately, Alex took a moment to evaluate the battlefield. He needed to decide who would be the most effective allies to call in first. After all, every decision in war could shift the tides dramatically.
As he quickly filtered through the options in his mind, Alex's gaze landed on a group chat message—a simple inquiry from the Tobey Maguire version of Spider-Man asking for a battlefield update.
Inspiration struck like lightning.
He suddenly thought of the perfect option: the Spider-Man Alliance.
This multiversal alliance consisted of Spider-Men from countless dimensions, each equipped with dimensional watches allowing them to travel freely across universes. If he could rally them all, the odds would change dramatically.
Alex immediately sent a message to Tobey's Spider-Man, asking him to inform Spider-Man 2099 to activate the Alliance's emergency protocols and gather as many members as possible.
Even though 2099 was already in the group, Alex knew that guy rarely paid attention to notifications.
So, he took further measures.
He used his [On Your Right] teleportation ability to bring Tobey's Spider-Man directly to the battlefield, giving the Spider-Man Alliance a precise coordinate. Once the signal locked, the rest could use their dimensional watches to track it.
Within moments, nearly all active members of the Spider-Man Alliance mobilized. Aside from a few who were unavailable due to missions or personal reasons—like parenting—they responded with enthusiasm. The idea of fighting alongside their fellow Spideys was too good to miss.
And then they began to arrive—pouring out of rainbow-colored wormholes, each one flashing and shimmering across the battlefield.
They came from different timelines, realities, and multiverses. Each was armed with unique combat styles, suits, and specialties.
Some excelled in close combat. Others specialized in ranged attacks. There were armored Spider-Men, stealth-suited Spider-Men, Spider-Women, and even some with magical enhancements.
Their sudden arrival brought a tidal wave of morale to the Avengers.
Alex Ray stood in the center of the chaos, watching with sharp eyes as they emerged from the multiversal portals one by one.
"Spider-Man reporting in! Move aside!" shouted Lace Rainbow Spider-Man, a short-legged powerhouse brimming with buffs, as he kicked his own wheelchair out of the way.
"This universe reeks of misery," grumbled Punk Spider-Man as he stepped through the portal, glaring coldly at the battlefield. Truth be told, if it weren't for Alex's request, he wouldn't have come.
"Finally! A good ol' brawl!" Paper Bag Head Spider-Man cheered, pumping a fist.
"Superheroes here are a hot mess," scoffed Iron Spider-Man. "Good thing I'm here to save the day."
"Oh no, Peter's already unconscious!" someone cried.
"Who called me?"
"Did someone say my name?"
"Stop yelling! Focus up! Let's go, Spider-Men!"
With hundreds of Spider-Men joining the fray, the battlefield dynamic quickly shifted.
Thanos' army, once overwhelming, began to falter. Their aggressive assault was effectively countered by the coordinated agility and ferocity of the Spider-Alliance. The Avengers, too, began to stabilize and regain control.
Dr. Bruce Banner watched in awe. "Unbelievable," he muttered. "I can't even tell which little spider is which."
"Well," Hawkeye said, glancing around, "the one lying unconscious over there? That's our Peter."
Bruce chuckled.
Natasha Romanoff looked toward Alex with admiration. "You're incredibly lucky, Bruce," she said softly. "To meet someone like him… strong, mysterious, and kind. He didn't just save me—he killed Thanos and saved our whole universe."
Bruce nodded, but Clint Barton scoffed, "Don't fall too hard. He's not even from our universe."
With that, Hawkeye ran back into the melee, his arrows flying.
Meanwhile, a new source of awkward tension emerged—not from enemies, but from… familiarity.
Near Alex's location, several Avengers were frozen in place, stunned—not because of the Spider-Men, but because of who stood in front of them.
Their counterparts.
Scarlet Witch faced Wanda—the version from Alex's universe.
Fat Thor stood across from Strong Thor.
Old Tony Stark stared at his younger self—young Tony from Hell's Kitchen.
The three pairs locked eyes, unsure how to proceed.
Doctor Strange, watching from a nearby vantage point, chuckled for the first time in a while. For once, he wasn't the only one dealing with alternate versions of himself.
He remembered the shock and confusion he felt when he first encountered his other self—Stephen Strange from Alex's universe.
But what puzzled him more was how easily these people crossed universes.
After all, he knew of only one way to traverse the multiverse: dreamwalking through the Darkhold. That method came with side effects, corruption, and danger.
Yet Alex Ray? The Spider-Men? Thanos? They experienced none of it. No mental collapse, no side effects, nothing.
Could it be that, in other universes, multiversal travel was as simple as boarding a plane?
How did Alex connect all these people so effortlessly?
Doctor Strange could clearly see that none of these Spider-Men came from the same reality.
He had once believed that becoming Sorcerer Supreme meant he had reached the pinnacle of knowledge and strength. But now, with Alex around, he realized he had been a frog in a well, staring at the sky through a narrow view.
Still, Strange kept those thoughts to himself. For now, he simply observed, eating metaphorical popcorn and enjoying the chaos.
Young Tony broke the awkward silence first.
"Man, you look like hell," he said to his older self, trying to lighten the mood. "Shouldn't you be home, playing with your kids or something?"
Old Tony rolled his eyes but extended a hand. Young Tony took it and helped him up.
"Hey, I have a wife and children," Old Tony replied. "Unlike you—still single, still cocky."
They both chuckled.
For a moment, the multiverse wasn't so overwhelming.
