What were the Avengers thinking at this moment?
Their army was on the brink of annihilation—and Thanos didn't care.
A cold smile curled on Thanos' face. After all this time, he had finally gotten rid of Alex Ray and now stood poised to claim the Infinity Gauntlet.
Although the Avengers had tried to interfere, most of their main forces were caught up in dragging Hell Thanos into a hellish deadlock. Only a small contingent remained to stop the original Thanos—and to him, these heroes were nothing more than insects.
One by one, Thanos knocked them aside with ruthless precision.
And then he reached the Gauntlet.
He extended his hand and slowly slid it onto his fingers. As the gauntlet clicked into place, he felt power—true, infinite power—surge through his veins.
A hideous laugh erupted from his throat, raw with arrogance and triumph.
But strangely, Hell Thanos didn't make a move to stop him.
He simply stood there, arms folded, staring at Thanos with unmasked contempt in his eyes. In Hell Thanos' mind, this version of himself had already lost all dominance, all grandeur. He couldn't even defeat a "small fry" like Alex Ray. His forces had suffered catastrophic losses.
It disgusted him. He didn't even want to acknowledge that they were the same being.
Pathetic.
Shameful.
Despair washed over the Avengers' faces. Many felt their will to fight draining away.
Defeating one Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet was nearly impossible—but two?
Still, some hadn't given up.
Tony Stark's mind raced. His eyes turned to Doctor Strange, silently pleading for guidance.
But this time, Strange only shook his head. There was no raised finger, no secret signal. Nothing.
Still, Tony wouldn't quit.
He steadied his breath and began sorting through the endless array of possibilities in his mind, searching for that one sliver of hope.
Then came the laughter—deep and twisted: "Hahaha! All of you are going to die!"
With the Infinity Stones in hand, Thanos regained his full domineering arrogance. He raised his arms, his power radiating across the battlefield.
"Hehehe... How is this possible—"
Suddenly, everything changed.
A look of disbelief crossed the Avengers' faces.
Thanos staggered, then froze—his chest had been pierced by a blade.
Alex Ray had struck while Thanos was distracted.
The Sword of Victory had punched straight through the Mad Titan's armor and flesh.
Swift. Clean. Fatal.
Before Thanos could even register what had happened, Alex withdrew the sword and slashed again. And again.
The so-called eternal conqueror had never expected his end to come like this.
He had believed that the Infinity Stones made him invincible. But now, with shock and fury frozen on his face, Thanos collapsed to the ground.
There was a glint of unwillingness in his eyes—but death claimed him nonetheless.
"Stay lost in your delusional dream," Alex said coldly, standing over the fallen titan. With a fluid motion, he pulled out a white handkerchief and gently wiped the blood from the Sword of Victory.
In his philosophy, there was no such thing as a "sneak attack." Only victory.
Normally, Alex wouldn't have bothered with such tactics—his strength alone was more than enough to crush his enemies.
But this time… this time called for something different.
After all, sneak attacks were a survival skill in Hell's Kitchen.
Alex didn't spare another glance at the dead Thanos. Instead, he turned toward the one that remained—the Thanos who came from the same universe as he did.
"You're next," Alex said, his voice like steel as he locked eyes with Hell Thanos.
"Hmph. You think I'm anything like that loser lying on the ground?" Hell Thanos scoffed. "And besides… how much strength do you have left?"
A battle between them had always been inevitable. Hell Thanos knew it—and so did Alex.
There was something Alex had that Thanos wanted. But even after watching his counterpart fall, Hell Thanos wasn't the least bit afraid. He was convinced that Alex had only won through trickery.
To him, a Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet and one without it were worlds apart.
"Before we fight… why don't you check on your friends?" Hell Thanos smirked and gestured behind Alex.
After the original Thanos' death, his alien army—leaderless—had splintered. Some, loyal fanatics, now swore vengeance and pledged themselves to Hell Thanos. Others, driven by fear, chose survival and followed the strongest leader available.
The armies were converging—and the Avengers were running on fumes.
Hell Thanos had expected Alex to falter. To panic.
But Alex stood calm. Unmoving.
That quiet resolve unsettled him.
"Can you really handle all of us alone?" Hell Thanos mused aloud. "Or are you planning to flee? I know you have the power to escape. But if you think I'll let you walk away unless you hand over the two stones…"
His voice trailed off.
What is he hiding? Hell Thanos wondered. What's the source of his calm?
Does he not care about his comrades anymore?
Alex didn't answer. He merely tilted his head toward the sky and murmured, "Almost time. They should be here soon."
The Avengers—those still standing—perked up.
"Hold the line!" someone shouted. "Reinforcements are coming!"
"On your right!" Alex called out, as two glowing portals shimmered into existence.
From them stepped two figures clad in Spider-Man suits.
Then came Iron Man. Then Wanda. And Thor.
"What? Our reinforcements are just two Spider-Men?" one Avenger muttered. "Is… is that all?"
Disappointment flickered across their tired faces.
Surely, this wouldn't be enough.
"Don't worry," Alex said. "The others are coming."
Suddenly, the sky erupted in a riot of color.
Wormholes—dozens of them—opened all at once.
And from each one swung another Spider-Man.
And another.
And another.
A legion of Spider-Men poured out of the sky, each one poised for battle.
"Am I hallucinating?" someone gasped, eyes wide. "Why are there so many spiders in the sky?!"
