Chapter 373 - Chapter 373

In the vast, desolate wilderness bordering the Void, a battered van rumbled across the uneven terrain. Covered in scratches and rust, it looked like an old warrior refusing to surrender—an indomitable traveler on a one-way mission toward Cassandra Nova's heavily fortified base.

Its tires scraped across the gravel with a dull, rhythmic thump, a sound that clashed against the thick tension inside the van.

Inside, the atmosphere was suffocating. No one spoke. Everyone's eyes remained locked on the endless road ahead, as if words themselves were a luxury too costly to spend.

The silence wasn't just nervous anticipation. It was born of the countless brushes with death they'd all endured—of wounds that hadn't healed, and ghosts that wouldn't fade.

Deadpool from Hell's Kitchen, never one to suffer awkward silence for long, finally exploded.

"Okay, what is this, a contest to see who dies of boredom first? Loosen up, people! This isn't the Avengers' funeral, and none of you are that dramatic Nick Fury!" he scoffed, breaking the oppressive stillness. "Talk, dammit! This is my chapter. No one's dying with their mouths shut on my watch."

He spun in his seat, looking at the four Void-dwelling mutants.

"So, what's the plan after we smoke this bald telepathic maniac? You sticking around this wasteland forever? Terrible air, no crowds, zero bar babes—I seriously have no idea how you survived here this long."

Laura Kinney rolled her eyes without answering.

Gambit—the King of Cards—didn't even look up from the poker deck flipping through his fingers.

"We're lucky just to be alive," he said coolly. "We never stopped long enough to make plans."

In the Void, survival had always been their only goal. Dodging Nova's search squads, avoiding the monstrous spell-clouds of Elrios... staying alive was a miracle in itself.

Once, they'd had a larger crew. Kindred spirits. Freedom fighters.

Now, only four remained.

Hell's Kitchen Deadpool shrugged. "Then come with us. You've got nowhere to go? Fine. We've got plenty of room in Hell's Kitchen. Great benefits. Decent beer. And we take care of our own."

He may have sounded nonchalant, but his words carried intent.

Even without saying it, he knew what Alex Ray wanted: to bring powerful allies to Hell's Kitchen. These four? Perfect candidates.

But not everyone was convinced.

Elektra—formerly known as Erica—was the first to snap.

"Hell's Kitchen?" she said coldly. "That place used to be a cesspool. Even if it's changed, I doubt it's ever going to feel like 'home' again. The chaos... the blood... it's still in my bones."

The others nodded.

They'd all heard stories—most of them bad—about the Hell's Kitchen of other worlds.

Gambit smirked, adding dryly, "Assuming we survive this, why not just join the X-Men or the Avengers? That's where all the real heroes end up, right?"

Main universe Deadpool jumped in with a dramatic sigh. "Tried that. Rejected. Some fat guy shot me down. Cursed him to die alone—or, if he ever finds love, she dumps him instantly. Fair's fair."

At the mention of the Avengers, Hell's Kitchen Deadpool scoffed.

"Please," he said, straightening proudly. "You people really don't get it. Our Hell's Kitchen is nothing like the rumors. Yeah, it used to belong to Kingpin, but guess what? My bro Alex Ray is his godson!"

He grinned and jabbed a finger at his chest.

"Kingpin handed the whole territory over to Alex. Retired from crime, went straight into politics. He's on the Big Apple City Council now—probably the next mayor. Hell's Kitchen? It's practically booming under Alex."

That made Elektra bristle even more.

Kingpin as mayor? The man who turned her neighborhood into a war zone?

If the cancer of Hell's Kitchen was now running the entire city, then maybe this whole universe was insane.

But Deadpool wasn't done.

"And you know that big, fancy Avengers team? Yeah, they tried to take us down. Big mistake. Alex and I took care of it. Boom—no more Avengers."

"WHAT?!" Main universe Deadpool practically shrieked. "You killed the Avengers? That means Tony, Stephen, Natasha—they're all gone?!" He buried his masked face in his hands. "No... no... Natasha was my ex! My ex-girlfriend! Author, how could you?!"

Gambit narrowed his eyes in disbelief. "C'mon. Even if the Avengers are gone, Hell's Kitchen doesn't have the power to pull that off. Any Hulk could flatten it in ten minutes."

"Captain Marvel, Hulk, all of 'em," Deadpool said casually. "Captain Marvel got smoked. Hulk? He joined us. Dude's teaching classes at the school in Hell's Kitchen now. You know who else is there? Beast."

He spread his arms wide.

"Not just the Hulk. The X-Men, Brotherhood of Mutants, even Daredevil and Tony—all of them are with us now. Hell's Kitchen is the largest superhero organization on Earth."

"And we've got benefits. Five insurances. One housing fund. Half-price rent. Blind dates included."

Everyone fell silent.

Even Main universe Deadpool looked jealous. If his own universe weren't hanging by a thread, he'd have jumped over without hesitation.

"If you don't believe me, ask Logan," Hell's Deadpool said, pointing to the front passenger seat.

Logan looked back, his voice flat but honest.

"Yeah. What he said checks out. The world we come from treats mutants a hell of a lot better than most universes. Hell's Kitchen ain't perfect, but under Alex Ray, it's safer than anywhere else I've been."

Gambit exchanged a glance with Elektra, then nodded slowly. If Logan vouched for it, it wasn't a lie.

Logan never lied.

Curiosity flickered in their eyes—for Alex Ray, for Hell's Kitchen.

For a future.

Just then, Blade—at the wheel—slammed his foot on the accelerator. The engine howled, and the van roared forward.

"Hope you're ready," he growled. "We're going in hot."

The van burst over the final ridge, and there it was.

Nova's base.

A monstrous, twisted structure forged from the skeletal remains of countless Giant-Men.

It loomed across the dead landscape like a cathedral of madness, bones stacked high like walls, ribcages serving as arches, skulls grinning from the parapets.

It wasn't just a fortress. It was a message—a symbol of Nova's power, her insanity, her utter disdain for life.

And ahead of them lay the blood-soaked path that would determine everything.
