Chapter 383 - Chapter 383: Kill Cassandra Nova with one punch

Space

"Shit, that hurts like hell." Hell's Kitchen Deadpool groaned, dragging himself out of a bottomless crater like a war-torn ragdoll hurled by time itself.

"I'm finally back!" Main Universe Deadpool shouted as he crash-landed from the sky with no regard for his own safety.

"Let's move. I know where the Time Variance Authority is," said Wolverine, now donning his classic yellow armor, following Deadpool back into their universe.

After all, he'd promised to help save this world—and a Wolverine keeps his word.

"You guys go ahead. I'm going to find the remaining mutants here," Magneto said, hovering mid-air, wrapped in a humming magnetic field like an indomitable warlord.

His eyes were cold and fathomless, blazing with fury and hatred toward the injustice that plagued this world.

Only four of them had entered this universe, each with their own reasons.

Hell's Kitchen Deadpool had come to see how this universe's Deadpool lived—and to find out how in hell he'd managed to get a girlfriend.

As for Magneto, his intent was clear: vengeance. He came to free the imprisoned mutants and make this world feel every ounce of their pain.

And Alex Ray?

He hadn't come along this time. He'd said he was going to meet an old friend.

In the Realm of Nothingness

At this point, only Cassandra Nova, Professor X, and Alex Ray remained.

Wolverine, Gambit, and Daredevil had already been sent back to Hell's Kitchen by Alex.

None of them could return to their original worlds, and since Alex had saved them, they simply followed him. When they heard about the benefits of life in Hell's Kitchen, the choice was obvious.

Of course, Alex didn't force anyone to stay. He gave them a choice—if they liked it, they could stay. If not, they were free to leave.

Still, Alex had a strong feeling that once these people experienced the Hell's Kitchen he had built, they wouldn't want to leave.

Only Cassandra refused to go with Professor X.

"Hmph, you must be Alex Ray. You look completely average—how the hell did you get Charles and the rest to follow you?" she sneered, sizing him up.

Cassandra couldn't understand what sort of charisma this young man possessed that convinced both the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Mutants to join him.

In every universe she knew, the camps led by Charles Xavier and Magneto were bitter enemies—completely incompatible.

"Even though you're my sister, allow me to correct your assumptions," said Professor X, his voice soft but firm.

At the same time, he began to release his telepathic power—a gentle tide that swept toward Cassandra's mind.

She had expected to resist it easily with the psychic strength she'd cultivated over centuries. But she was wrong.

Charles' psychic touch was deeper, more intricate, and more powerful than anything she had anticipated. Her defenses crumbled like a sandcastle under a tsunami.

She was forced to one knee, pride slipping from her face, replaced by a flicker of humiliation.

"Tch. This is just because of Charles' power. If I were fighting one-on-one, I might not lose," she muttered stubbornly.

Cassandra was realizing that all the familiar figures she had once dismissed were now completely different—stronger, wiser, evolved.

She began to suspect that Alex Ray possessed a mysterious power. Something that awakened the deepest potential in those around him. Something that could alter fate itself and push people beyond their limits.

But she still doubted his personal strength. Maybe, she thought, he was just some charismatic manipulator. Maybe he gained loyalty not through power, but through clever tricks and calculated alliances.

After all, how could someone like Charles or Magneto follow a man who wasn't overwhelmingly strong?

Alex Ray looked at the so-called sister of Charles, who despite being hundreds of years old, was still as stubborn as a child throwing a tantrum.

"It's fine. I'll go easy on her. Charles, it's alright," he said, motioning for the Professor to withdraw his psychic hold. He didn't take Cassandra's provocation to heart.

Professor X frowned but obeyed. He had only stepped in to protect his sister.

He knew Alex's strength and reputation were earned, not gifted. Whatever Cassandra's full potential might be—she was no match for Alex.

If she couldn't defeat Charles, there was no universe where she could defeat Alex.

Cassandra, still regaining her balance, stared at Alex with burning confidence. She believed—utterly—that she could win.

"Hmph. Don't worry. I'll leave your corpse intact," she said coldly, her voice full of venom.

She drew a deep breath. Her telekinesis exploded outward like a tsunami, condensing into a searing beam of psychic light that shot directly at Alex.

That blast carried all her rage, all her pride. It was meant to kill in a single strike.

But Alex didn't even move.

As the beam reached him, it dissolved into nothing—drawn into an unseen vortex, as if the universe itself swallowed it whole.

In the next instant, Alex vanished—and reappeared in front of her.

He drove his fist into her forehead with the force of a thunderclap.

The sound echoed like an explosion. Cassandra's body shot down like a missile, smashing through the floor, crashing all the way to the ground below, stirring a massive cloud of dust.

One punch. Instant knockout.

"Impossible…!"

Cassandra passed out cold.

Alex picked up her limp body and opened a portal, sending both her and Professor X back to Hell's Kitchen.

"Next stop: the Aloith. That's where the real entrance lies."

With that, everyone moved out—leaving Cassandra's base behind, empty and silent, save for a single glowing portal still shimmering in the air.
