Chapter 382 - Chapter 382

"Logan, you weren't wrong. No one from your world or ours would ever blame you," Professor X said softly, a mix of pain and relief in his eyes.

He had already learned everything from Wolverine and Alex Ray about what had transpired in their universe.

He wouldn't hold Logan accountable for failing to save the mutants of that world, or for the blood on his hands. Nor would he blame him for staining the image of mutants in the eyes of ordinary humans.

Logan was never one for diplomacy or patience, but that didn't make him wrong. It only meant no one had ever stood up for him.

In Hell's Kitchen, Professor X had changed. He no longer obsessed over moral binaries. He had stopped forcing the idea of peaceful integration with humans. The world hated mutants, feared them—and for once, he stopped caring.

Hell's Kitchen had a dark reputation. Ordinary people steered clear of it, but that didn't stop Alex Ray and the others from living a relatively peaceful life there.

Now, Professor X was focused on building Hogwarts School, a place where all mutants and gifted individuals could study in safety. He could sense that a new dimensional space was forming in Hell's Kitchen—an intersection of universes, a node of power.

Hogwarts would stand at the heart of that node. In time, mutants might leave the human world entirely and build a future in that pocket dimension.

He had a feeling that this new school would reshape the future of the world.

"If you ever feel lonely, you can come to our universe," Professor X said to Logan. "There are friends and comrades there who remember you. You're not alone anymore."

Hearing those words, Wolverine looked as though a heavy burden had been lifted. After all those years, he was finally hearing what he'd longed for.

Still, he shook his head.

If he left… no one in his world would remember the fallen mutants.

While the two were speaking, Cassandra Nova turned her gaze toward Magneto. She hadn't forgotten that he had mocked her in the Memory World. She was not someone who forgave easily.

She would deal with Charles last. But first, she intended to collect interest from Magneto.

"Looks like you want to fight me," Magneto said, sensing her intent. "I'm interested in seeing just how powerful Professor X's sister really is."

"I'm not interested in you," Cassandra sneered, "but I am interested in your mind."

She wasn't curious about his strength. In her memory world, she had twisted off the head of a helmeted Magneto without effort. Without his helmet, he'd be even easier.

Her body flickered like vapor, fading into the air. When she reappeared, she was behind Magneto, fingers together like a dagger, plunging them toward the base of his skull.

But when she tried to invade his mind—she hit nothing.

She had expected resistance, a battle of memories. Instead, all she found was an endless void.

"What...?" she gasped, her face paling. "Why is there nothing in your head?"

Cassandra tried again, but Magneto's mind was a pitch-black abyss—empty, silent.

"Has anyone ever told you," Magneto said calmly, raising one hand, "that your hands are filthy?"

The surrounding steel beams reacted at once, pulled by his magnetic force. With a deafening screech, they launched toward Cassandra like spears.

She tried to dodge, but the steel slammed into her, pinning her to the wall. Bars twisted and wrapped around her like constricting vines.

Of course, she wasn't going down so easily. Cassandra summoned her telekinetic power—an overwhelming spiritual force capable of warping reality itself.

With a snarl, she erupted in a psychic storm. The steel bars burst apart like brittle wood, scattering across the ground.

She stepped from the wreckage with elegance and rage, like a butterfly breaking from its cocoon. In a flash, she was again face-to-face with Magneto.

"How are you doing this without a helmet?" she asked, her voice edged with disbelief. Her brows furrowed, and her gaze was piercing.

Magneto smiled, slow and proud. "Guess."

After gaining access to magic, Magneto had focused almost exclusively on Occlumency—the art of shielding the mind. He didn't bother with other spells.

With it, he could now block Cassandra's telepathy… and even Charles'.

The magic wasn't powerful, but it was effective.

And now, he wanted to test a different spell.

"Avada Kedavra!" he hissed.

A green beam of death shot from his wand, hurtling toward Cassandra.

But the killing curse disintegrated against her telekinetic shield, vanishing into nothing.

Magneto didn't seem disappointed. The spell's power was sufficient for most mutants—just not someone like Cassandra.

Meanwhile—

"Alex Ray is busy right now. There's a kid here who wants to go home," Hell's Kitchen Deadpool called from the second floor, interrupting Alex's conversation with the other mutants.

"See, bro? I told you people in our universe are reliable," Hell Deadpool boasted to his main-universe counterpart. "You just never believe me."

(Right? How can the protagonist not be awesome? I don't even want him to show up, and now we're twenty pages in and the story's still not over. Damn author!)

"Come over here. Hey, Wade," Alex said, meeting main-universe Deadpool for the first time. He was genuinely curious how a fourth-wall breaker like him would react.

He actually wanted to ask if Deadpool knew he was in a fanfic.

(You're not in a movie. You're just a character in a fanfic. Yeah, you're the protagonist, but you'll never get adapted into a film.)

(But I can't say that aloud. The author really over-delivered. Only a character as talented as me could be movie material!)

"Send me back, please. I need to save my universe."

"No problem," Alex grinned. "I'll open the portal now."

. . . . . . . . . . . .

Far deeper in the void—beyond the chaos and conflict—lies a forgotten fold of reality. A rift where time and space entwine, dissolving all into nothingness. A single beam of light pierces the darkness.

At the heart of that forgotten realm stands a throne carved from invisible force. On it sits a towering figure with a face shrouded in shadow and wisdom.

Ancient branches, like those from a mythical tree, wove gently around him—alive with the memories and myths of countless worlds. Stars bloomed briefly at every twitch of a branch, like soft meteors against the dark.

He had sat in meditation for eons. Perhaps he had no need to open his eyes at all.

But now, they opened—piercing rays of insight cutting through the void and into the heart of creation.

"You've finally arrived, Alex Ray… the Reincarnated One."
