Chapter 395 - Chapter 395 : Love you, Mom

"Not only are you not embarrassing the time travelers—you've actually brought honor to us," Alex Ray muttered to himself.

One man, standing alone against the entire Marvel Universe. Not many time travelers could boast such power.

But what Alex truly wanted to know was how to reach the state of transcendence. And so far, the letter hadn't answered that.

He silently turned to the next page.

"As for what transcendence feels like, I can't tell you. If I did, you might repeat the same mistakes I made."

"Everyone walks a different path. The more I explain, the more I risk misleading you."

"What I can say is this: when your system reaches its final form, it will guide you on how to approach transcendence."

"Are you wondering why the system I gave you is a friendship system, instead of a sign-in system, a kill-counter, or a slacker's cheat? Why friendship?"

Alex had always wondered that. Why friendship? Was it that his former self couldn't create other types of systems?

After all, wouldn't a combat-based or kill-based system be much easier to handle than something so vague and complicated as friendship?

To be honest, Alex had complained about it more times than he could count.

Soon, the letter gave him the answer.

"Of course I could've made other systems. There are two reasons I made this one. But before that, let me tell you my story."

"After all... I had no one to tell it to. And even if I did, who would believe me?"

"I won't bother recounting memories from before transmigration—we're the same person, more or less. Let's start after I arrived here."

"I was sent to the Marvel Universe. I was thrilled at first. But the moment I realized where I was... I started to panic."

"I tried summoning a system for days, but nothing happened. I was desperate. Worse, I looked like an illegal immigrant thanks to the clothes I came in."

"With no choice, I ended up in Hell's Kitchen. I joined a gang. I trained day and night, doing things I hated, just to survive."

"Back then, I felt like I was shackled—forced to do things I despised for just a sliver of hope. Every night, when the city fell asleep, I'd ask myself... is this life really better than the one I left behind?"

"Sometimes I even dreamed of going back, even knowing it was impossible."

"I envied the lucky ones. The time travelers who landed with cheats, forming teams with Tony Stark, flirting with Marvel beauties like it was an anime rom-com."

"But I couldn't afford to dream. I had something more important—survival and strength."

"I nearly died more times than I can count. But maybe because I was a time traveler, I managed to live."

"Years passed. I made my mark under Kingpin. I became one of his most capable men. Things were finally starting to look up."

"Hell's Kitchen was brutal. Kingpin was a terrifying man—but at least I was surviving."

"I thought I could grow steadily stronger... but then Kingpin died. The Hand and the High Table clashed over the Dragon Bone, and Hell's Kitchen became a battlefield."

"Before I had time to breathe, everything I built was reduced to ashes."

As Alex read this part, it was as if he were watching the story unfold before his eyes. Blood, sweat, and desperation. His past self's journey was one of pain and grit.

Compared to that, Alex realized he was lucky.

"Still, I earned my first pot of gold—and a piece of the Dragon Bone. I didn't use it directly. Immortality didn't matter. Not in this universe. What mattered was power."

"I traded the Dragon Bone to Hydra in exchange for their Super Soldier Serum. And that's where I met my first love—Wanda."

"Those years inside Hydra were the happiest of my life. With Wanda by my side, I climbed the ranks and eventually led Hydra. We defeated S.H.I.E.L.D., and I took possession of the Space Stone."

"If Wanda had stayed, I might've given up everything. I might've lived quietly in the Marvel world."

"But it didn't last. Because of Professor X and Pietro, Wanda betrayed Hydra. In an unexpected battle, Pietro died—killed by Hydra."

"That was the end of us. Wanda tried to kill me. And I closed my heart to love forever."

"But I kept going. Relentlessly. Eventually, I killed Wanda and absorbed the Chaos Magic within her. Then I slaughtered every mutant alive."

"I set off alone, traversing the universe, doing whatever I had to do to grow stronger."

"Of all the so-called Marvel heroes, I only spared those whose powers I could use. The rest—I killed. That's how I got to where I was."

"That's also why no one came to help me in the final battle."

"Looking back... I regret it. I worked so hard. But in the end, I had nothing. I didn't live a good life."

"If I had another chance, I'd want to live differently. Make friends. Live like a real person, not a weapon."

"That's why I created the friendship system. It's selfish, really. I just wanted to see if a different path could lead to a different outcome."

"Make friends for me. There's an old saying: 'The righteous have many allies. The wicked walk alone.'"

"All those system rewards you're getting? They came from my power. You didn't really think making friends directly grants you their abilities, did you?"

"At my level, what Marvel ability can't I create? Same with powers from other anime universes—if their strength isn't above mine, I can replicate them."

"The system can help you reach my level. After that, you're on your own."

"But there's one more reason I chose this system—this friendship system might be the key to transcendence."

"Sounds ridiculous, right? I'm a time traveler. I didn't gather 100,000 heavenly warriors to welcome me back like a grand return of the Dragon King."

"All of this… this is the experience of a failed transmigrator."

"Anyway, I have to stop here. Those bastards from the OAA are closing in."

"Other me… take my memories, and my hopes—and write your own legend. No matter how hopeless things get, don't give up. You're the chosen one. You have limitless potential."

"Actually…"

"I don't want to die…"

"I want to go home… but… forget it."

"If you fail, I'll see you on the road to the underworld."

"If you succeed, go back. See our family. And if Mom is still alive—tell her: 'I love you, Mom.'"
