Chapter 419 - Chapter 419 : Crazy Kang's Plan

"So," Reed began slowly, trying to collect his thoughts, "you joined the Illuminati to save the Earth."

"After all, the Illuminati is the most powerful superhero organization known, with backing from the federal government and countless resources and volunteers."

He glanced at Kang. Seeing that Kang didn't refute him, Reed continued: "If even we in the Illuminati can't stop the resurrection of this so-called god, then I'm afraid no one can."

At this point, Reed suddenly changed the subject. "However, speaking of strength—although I don't like Hell's Kitchen—their power can't be underestimated."

"I have to admit, they're the only organization that can compare with the Illuminati."

"But unfortunately, you've already offended them. So your only option now is to join us."

Reed looked at Kang, waiting for a response, but Kang just sat there in silence, expressionless.

"I'm guessing you only learned about all of this after you got the golden serum, right?" Reed mused aloud. "If you had known before, maybe you wouldn't have stolen it and crossed Hell's Kitchen. They might've even offered you protection."

He paused, then added, "But who can resist the temptation to grow stronger when the opportunity presents itself?"

Reed's tone grew increasingly self-assured, as if he had fully grasped Kang's motivations. "Don't worry. We in the Illuminati always protect our own. As long as you're with us, no one can touch you—not even Hell's Kitchen. Compared to the Illuminati, they're nothing."

As the conversation went on, Reed's eyes lit up. He clearly believed he had figured out Kang's real reason for joining the Illuminati.

What he didn't notice was the flash of murderous intent that passed through Kang's eyes the moment he belittled Alex Ray.

Kang's expression shifted slightly at Reed's smug words. There was an odd glint in his otherwise calm eyes.

He hadn't expected Reed to fabricate so many theories on his behalf—frantically making excuses for him. It saved Kang the trouble of explaining anything himself.

Reed began firing off questions again, brows furrowed, curiosity gnawing at his logical mind.

"But how do you prove that this so-called god will be resurrected? And how do you prove this Celestial will destroy the world when that happens? All of it sounds too far-fetched."

He paused again.

"And is this Celestial really that terrifying? You, of all people, can't beat him? You're one of the most powerful individuals I've ever met."

Now that Reed had finally calmed down, Kang responded slowly.

His voice was low and steady, like he was recounting a distant, nightmarish legend.

"In truth, our entire Earth is a massive breeding ground. Do you know that the birth and reproduction of all intelligent life on Earth exists solely to provide the Celestials with life energy? We are just nutrients to them."

Kang's words sent a chill down Reed's spine.

He couldn't fathom that the world he had always known was just a feeding farm in the eyes of cosmic beings.

"Whether it's humans, the Eternals, the Deviants, or even mutants who believe they're the next step in evolution—all of them were created by the Celestials. To them, we're just food."

"And the Earth itself? It's nothing more than an egg. When the Celestial awaken, they'll hatch—bursting from the planet's core. And when that happens, the Earth will be destroyed."

Every word Kang spoke slammed into Reed like a sledgehammer.

His worldview shattered in real time. He stared, wide-eyed, trying to process this horrifying truth.

Kang, unfazed, simply watched Reed's reaction.

He had known the truth about this world for a long time. The strong devour the weak. The strong endure. That's the only law that matters.

Humanity liked to see themselves as rulers of Earth—plundering resources, destroying ecosystems, acting like the planet was theirs alone.

Now, someone had come along to tell them the bitter truth.

They were cattle.

No different from the chickens, pigs, or cows they slaughtered without thought.

Who could accept that?

But it didn't matter if they accepted it.

It was the truth.

Humans consumed animals because they were stronger. Celestials consumed humans for the same reason.

"If that's the case, then how do we stop it?" Reed asked, desperation creeping into his voice. "You must have a plan—some way to prevent it, or stop this god from awakening."

"Why stop it?" Kang asked, his voice deep and calm. "Why not kill the Celestial and seize its power for ourselves?"

"You should understand— Celestials are not just powerful beings. They embody law. They are the laws of existence incarnate. If we take that power from them… we become like gods ourselves."

For the first time, the veil lifted from Kang's expression. His eyes burned with raw fanaticism.

"Madman," Reed thought instinctively, shaken to his core.

Even someone as rational and brilliant as Reed couldn't help but swallow nervously at Kang's ambition.

His first instinct had been to stop the Celestial from waking up.

But Kang?

Kang wanted to kill the Celestial and take its power.

"With just the two of us?" Reed asked. "Why include me? If you have a plan, why not do it alone?"

It wasn't that he was selling himself short—he just didn't believe two people could pull it off.

Still, he couldn't deny it… he was tempted.

"Of course we can't do it alone," Kang replied with a cold smile. "But the forces behind us can."

"Then once we bring them in, there'll be nothing left for us to do," Reed pointed out, frowning. "We'd be sidelined."

He didn't believe Kang hadn't thought of that.

And then something clicked in his mind.

"Wait… you're not thinking of—" Reed's face changed in an instant. "You want to exploit the conflict between them. Let them fight each other—and then we swoop in?"

"Exactly," Kang said, a wicked smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I could just invite people from the Kang Dynasty. But I doubt I'd get much benefit in the end."

"But as far as I know, the Council of Kang and the Reed Council are… not exactly on friendly terms."

Kang's grin widened, sharp and cold.

He had no intention of watching gods destroy the Earth—or letting other factions control the outcome.

He wanted the divine law for himself.

And if it meant pitting the multiverse's smartest men against its most dangerous conquerors, then so be it.

Let the Celestial tremble.

Let the universes burn.

And when the smoke cleared, Kang—Golden Sentinel Kang—and perhaps even Reed—would stand above them all.

Or die trying.
