Of course, it was impossible for Alex Ray to move the entire Hell's Kitchen into that mysterious dimension without reservation.
Whether it was a super-powered being like himself, a mutant with unique genes, or even an ordinary citizen, all were deeply rooted in the vast land of Earth and could not easily sever their connection to this blue planet.
After all, once you step into the threshold of dimensional space, it means abandoning the warm embrace of Earth, starting your own dominion, and becoming a solitary traveler within a pocket universe.
Alex Ray knew all too well that he was not some aloof dimensional demon god. He still had a flesh-and-blood human body, with the same physical needs as any mortal.
He needed air, water, and food. He needed to feel the warmth of sunlight on his skin, to walk the streets of Earth, to read online novels, and to indulge in entertainment.
He had no intention of becoming an emotionless dimensional entity.
The same held true for mutants. Despite their extraordinary powers, at heart they still longed for human connection, for the warmth of society, and the joy of shared experiences. Their needs were no different than anyone else's.
This was also true for those with superpowers—and all the more so for ordinary people.
Don't mistake the obedience of Hell's Kitchen's residents for blind loyalty. They followed Alex Ray not out of fear, but because he had genuinely brought them better lives and tangible benefits.
Of course, there were systemic reasons as well.
At the same time, Alex never ignored the potential for mistakes. If any of his decisions harmed the interests of the majority, he was aware that, while the people of Hell's Kitchen might not be able to challenge him directly, dissatisfaction would fester.
He knew full well that sealing off all of Hell's Kitchen into a dimensional space would mean cutting it off from the outside world and turning it into a closed island.
Such an act would go against human nature—the yearning for freedom, for growth—and could very well cause the community to stagnate or even regress over time.
History had taught humanity that lesson time and again.
Generations had paid the price for isolationism.
Alex Ray wasn't so arrogant as to ignore that. He knew exactly what the consequences would be, and yet he still pushed forward with the plan.
Why?
On one hand, the completion of Hogwarts Academy had given Alex the spark of inspiration to create something similar.
Of course, Hogwarts wasn't actually inside a separate dimension—it still existed on Earth. It was simply hidden through spells and enchantments that prevented ordinary people from entering.
In that sense, Hogwarts was more akin to Wakanda. One used magic, the other used science.
But ever since Hogwarts had entered the Marvel universe, it had become something more complete—more like a self-contained world, though still tethered to the Earth.
That gave Alex the idea: what if he could create a truly independent, hidden dimension?
The second reason was far more serious.
A war was coming.
Yes, with the exclusive skill [Immovable], the defenses of Hell's Kitchen were already formidable—possibly the most secure location on Earth.
Ordinary superhero battles couldn't harm it.
But Alex Ray understood: this next battle would not be fought by ordinary superheroes.
His instincts screamed that the revival of the gods and the Illuminati's schemes were just a smokescreen—a prelude meant to bait out an even greater force.
And if that were true, then the real enemy would be something far beyond imagination. Beings not only possessing divine might but also mastery over the very laws of the universe.
With that in mind, Alex began preparations for the inevitable multiversal war.
He was fully aware that in such a conflict, most superheroes would be reduced to cannon fodder. Heroes like Captain America, Hawkeye, and Ant-Man—no matter how respected—would be powerless before the true enemy. They might number in the thousands, but they would not sway the outcome.
The real battlefield would belong to beings beyond demigods—true heavyweights of cosmic power.
Gods like Galactus, or the embodiment of Death itself, had the strength to shake the entire cosmos with a single blow. Every clash between such entities would rewrite reality itself.
Alex knew he could not afford even a sliver of overconfidence.
He didn't fear for his own life—he believed he could survive it all and emerge victorious.
But he wasn't sure he could protect Hell's Kitchen and all its innocent civilians while battling such overwhelming foes.
Truthfully, Alex didn't care much about the fate of most of the people in this country. The East had its own guardian agency, the Shenmao Bureau. As long as the entire region wasn't wiped off the map, it would be fine.
Honestly, if all the "Nigo" were wiped out, that might even be a good thing.
He laughed bitterly at his own hypocrisy. He knew how idealistic it sounded.
But he also knew one thing with absolute certainty: if he survived the war only to return to a Hell's Kitchen reduced to rubble, where his home no longer existed—then victory would mean nothing.
That's why Alex needed to prepare now. To pull Hell's Kitchen into a dimensional realm in advance.
If war truly broke out, he could evacuate every non-combatant into that space.
Alex brought Tony Stark and Doctor Strange into the dimension.
He stood high above the clouds, his gaze burning like twin torches as he looked down at the realm below—70% identical to the Hell's Kitchen in his memory—and nodded to himself.
This place had been painstakingly constructed over the last six months, during the rare lulls between battles and when avoiding pursuit from the gods.
From the layout of the streets to the architecture of the buildings, even down to the familiar scent in the air, Alex had labored to make it as close to the original as possible—so those who came here could still feel a trace of "home."
Yet even with all his effort, the dimension was not perfect.
The most glaring flaw: the absence of sunlight.
Without sunlight, the space felt muted. Streets lay in shadow, the atmosphere tinged with gloom, like a painting forgotten in a dusty corner of time—lifeless and still.
And there was nothing he could do about it.
After all, Alex hadn't created the universal laws of this space. He was only manipulating what existed within them. This was already the best he could manage.
Realistically, dimensional spaces like this weren't meant for human life. Just look at the other dimensions—there were no normal people living in them.
That was why Alex brought Tony and Strange: to get their thoughts.
Tony, the genius inventor, master of cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence—his mind might offer solutions that Alex had missed.
And Strange, freshly returned from the Dark Dimension and the realm of the Vishanti, had seen the inner workings of these realms firsthand. When it came to understanding dimensional architecture, no one on Earth knew more.
Together, the two might offer something revolutionary.
