When Alex Ray saw that Captain Universe Spider-Man was left embarrassed because no one followed his lead, he didn't mock him or offer unnecessary explanations.
In his eyes, this was perfectly normal. He could understand why Captain Universe Spider-Man didn't believe in his strength.
The corners of Alex's mouth curled into a faint smile. His voice was calm and unwavering:
"Now's not the time to argue over who's right or wrong. Time is short, and I don't need you to believe in me or my allies.
But please trust us. We'll prove everything through action."
"Words aren't enough, but rest assured—we'll do our best."
There was no room for doubt in Alex's tone; only quiet, absolute certainty.
"Since you're willing to trust me, I will not let you down.
You should also realize: it's impossible for you to save every Spider-Man alone. Attempting that would be a meaningless sacrifice.
So stop now—and instead, help the others bring their friends and family to my Hell's Kitchen."
"In my Hell's Kitchen, no one dares lay a hand on you."
"Leave the rest to me."
"I will avenge this."
After all, these Spider-Men were victims of a calamity they never invited.
If not for him, their multiversal Hell's Kitchens would never have been targeted.
Alex Ray remembered this grudge—and he remembered it well.
He swept his gaze once more across the roomful of Spider-Men, his eyes alight like twin torches, burning with vengeance and resolve.
Each Spider-Man's face passed through his line of sight until he finally locked eyes with Captain Universe Spider-Man—whose expression held a complex, layered depth.
"I know some of you come from universes where Hell's Kitchen doesn't even exist. You weren't attacked.
You don't need to be involved in this."
"If you're terrified of these reincarnators and can't bring yourselves to take revenge…
Then give your hatred and your fury to me, Alex Ray."
"But if you do want to deliver justice with your own hands—then follow me. Without hesitation."
"No matter what path you choose, I, Alex Ray, and my allies in Hell's Kitchen, will take the lead!"
His voice rang out across the base like a war drum, each word hammering into their hearts.
"An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth. This is Hell's Kitchen."
"I'm heading back now to gather the others and launch a counterattack.
Trust me. Follow me. I'll be waiting—for all of you—in Hell's Kitchen."
With that, Alex turned and raised a single finger. A gleaming portal slowly opened before him, shimmering with energy. He strode into it with steady, deliberate steps—each one radiating absolute confidence.
His silhouette stretched in the growing light, tall and unwavering, like an unmovable mountain standing between his people and the coming storm.
There was strength in that back—but something more.
A responsibility. A mission.
The Spider-Men behind him looked at one another with mixed emotions—silence, fear, resolve, doubt.
They exchanged glances, searching for courage in each other's faces.
Then, all eyes turned to Spider-Man 2099—Miguel O'Hara.
Miguel didn't waste words. He knew better than anyone: action spoke louder.
He nodded once, eyes gleaming with unshakable purpose, and stepped forward into the portal without hesitation.
His figure vanished like a meteor blazing across the dark. He would follow—no matter the danger ahead.
"There's nothing more to say. I believe in Mr. Alex Ray."
Miles Morales' voice was youthful but fierce with conviction.
He clenched his fists, psyching himself up, then stepped into the portal.
He was small, but his courage burned like a fire, sparking a light in everyone's hearts.
"Even if my universe wasn't attacked, we're all Spider-Men. We help each other."
Gwen Stacy's voice was gentle, but resolute. With a calm smile, she walked into the portal—her strength as radiant as her grace.
"Our leader's reckless as always," Peter Parker—older, now a father—murmured with a wry smile. His eyes were layered with emotion.
But he knew Alex's decision wasn't some reckless gamble. It was calculated. Intentional.
So he stepped in, his mixed feelings of exasperation and vengeance pushing him forward.
"Killing someone means paying with your life. Seems fair. I'm in."
Punk Spider-Man's voice crackled with righteous fury.
His homeland was destroyed. Innocents killed. But his belief in justice was unshaken.
Clad in his rebellious punk gear, he marched into the portal with uncompromising resolve.
"Oh no, this is gonna get intense!"
"I believe in Mr. Alex Ray—we're not gonna lose!"
"Revenge for Peter!"
"Hey, I'm not dead yet, you moron—watch your mouth!"
"His speech lit a fire in my blood. If I don't go, am I even Spider-Man?!"
"Let's move! Uncle Ben said it: with great power comes great responsibility. Worst case, we die."
"CHARGE! Spider-Men don't kneel for anyone!"
"Wrong portal, dumbass! You're in the wrong crossover!"
One after another, more Spider-Men answered the call.
They poured into the portal like a rising tide of masked warriors, forming a spectacular mosaic of resolve, pain, and unity.
Captain Universe Spider-Man stood frozen, unable to understand what kind of magic this Alex Ray possessed.
Are they all just blindly following him into death?
As the room around him emptied, panic and doubt clawed at his chest.
He wanted to shout, to warn them—tell them this might be a suicide mission.
But every time he looked at their faces… and saw the iron will in their eyes… the words died in his throat.
All he could do was sigh.
He closed his eyes, took a deep breath.
When he opened them, there was a new fire behind them.
"…Fine. If they trust Alex Ray this much, then as one of them, I have a duty to witness this too."
"Let's see just how far Alex Ray can take us."
Captain Universe Spider-Man stepped forward—and entered the portal.
As he disappeared, the light from the portal flared, blinding and brilliant.
Then it vanished.
Silence followed. A strange stillness settled over the space, broken only by the faint gleam of residual light.
Only a handful of medics remained to tend the wounded.
And one other.
Deadpool—still tied up exactly where Alex had left him.
"Mmmfmmfmmmf!" (Damn it, Alex Ray! Where the hell did you go? Untie me! You're not gonna bully me again, are you?!)
(Wait… why'd I say 'again'?)
