Chapter 441 - Chapter 441 : Captain Universe Spider-Man's Question

"That's right, Alex Ray. Don't get ahead of yourself. We still don't know the enemy's full strength. This time, the threat is more dangerous than anything we've faced before."

"You think we're not anxious? We're more desperate than you!"

"We don't even know who they are. No names, no numbers, no intel on who's pulling the strings!"

"How many of you here have lost your families, your homes, your entire worlds to these monsters?!"

Spider-Man 2099's voice cracked as he shouted at Alex Ray, joining the others trying to reason with him.

Alex's gaze slowly shifted from Spider-Man 2099 to scan the faces of every Spider-Man in the room.

Some showed barely concealed sorrow. Others radiated steely resolve. And some were cloaked in deep, wordless dread.

Those emotions fused into a volatile storm—grief, fury, fear—saturating the air.

"I know each of you is burning with rage. And you should be."

Alex's voice was low and firm, resonating with authority. He turned slowly, locking eyes with his multiversal allies.

"But listen to me when I say this: I will bring justice to every last victim."

"I know these so-called Reincarnators better than anyone in this room."

"You need to trust my strength."

As his words settled, Captain Universe Spider-Man stepped forward, face taut with skepticism.

"But you're just one man. No matter how strong you are, you can't stop a coordinated assault from dozens of Reincarnators at once."

"And let's be honest—you're not that much stronger than I am. Charging in like this? It's reckless."

"You've never truly fought them. You don't understand them. If you go alone, you'll be walking into your own grave."

Captain Universe Spider-Man had been wary of Alex Ray since the moment he arrived.

To him, Alex radiated a dangerous overconfidence. The kind that got people killed.

In contrast, Captain Universe Spider-Man had actual battle experience with the Reincarnators—terrifying, bloody encounters that still haunted him.

The Reincarnators were chaos incarnate. They fought like lunatics, driven by bloodlust. Their abilities were unpredictable—some unlike anything he'd ever seen. And their survivability bordered on the supernatural.

What truly unnerved him was their numbers.

They seemed infinite.

He remembered destroying several with his own hands, only for more to appear like a hydra regrowing its heads.

While he hadn't yet faced any stronger than himself, he sensed at least two or three who were close in power—perhaps even equal.

Especially one called Bardock. A battle-mad brute who matched him blow-for-blow. Captain Universe Spider-Man could still feel the phantom weight of Bardock's fists pounding into his ribs.

Sure, Alex Ray was strong. But to Captain Universe, Alex was just that—strong. Not transcendent. Not unbeatable.

In his mind, Alex was capable... but deluded.

Arrogant.

Possibly suicidal.

But Alex Ray didn't flinch at the criticism.

Even if he had known what Captain Universe Spider-Man was thinking, he wouldn't have cared.

He simply gave a faint, calm smile.

"Sometimes, numbers don't matter when true strength is involved."

"And who said I was going alone?"

He let that hang in the air, then added: "This isn't just my fight. This is about Hell's Kitchen."

"I have you all. And I have Hell's Kitchen behind me."

Captain Universe Spider-Man scoffed, his expression hardening. "Hell's Kitchen? That's your big backup?"

"Even if you gathered every Hell's Kitchen from every timeline, they still couldn't stop the Reincarnators."

His voice dripped with disdain now. "You think those people can take on cosmic-level threats?"

Captain Universe Spider-Man felt like he was wasting breath on a child who'd never seen real war.

Hell's Kitchen? What a joke.

Who even lived there worth fearing?

Kingpin? Please. A glorified mob boss. Strong for a human, sure—but still just a thug whose power came from fear and violence.

Deadpool? A mouthy immortal punching bag. Useful as a distraction, maybe. But strategy? Tactics? Not his thing.

Daredevil? A blind man with sticks. Come on.

Even their own Spider-Men had fallen. And now this Alex Ray thought his little Hell's Kitchen cavalry would change the tide?

It was laughable.

Captain Universe Spider-Man shook his head, the final embers of patience dying in his eyes. He had hoped this Alex would be different—someone recommended by Miguel O'Hara, no less. But clearly, he was just another overhyped wildcard.

"I'm done here," he said flatly.

He turned, ready to walk away.

Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O'Hara, quickly stepped forward. "You don't understand, Captain—Alex Ray's Hell's Kitchen isn't like the ones we've seen before."

"Enough." Captain Universe raised a hand sharply, cutting him off. "We don't need more talk. We need action."

"No matter what flavor it comes in, Hell's Kitchen is still just a neighborhood."

"It's not the Avengers. If we're serious about surviving this, we should be tracking down the Multiversal Avengers, not wasting time here."

"Come on, Miguel. Everyone. Let's move. Avengers first."

He headed for the exit.

But no one followed.

Not a step.

Every Spider-Man in the room stayed rooted where they were… staring not at him, but at Alex Ray.

Even Miguel didn't move.

He stood silently at Alex's side—steadfast.

To him, this wasn't a contest between the strongest Spider-Man and some stranger. It was about faith. About instinct.

And Miguel's instinct told him that Alex Ray was their best shot.

The others felt the same.

Captain Universe Spider-Man slowed to a stop.

He turned to find every eye still locked on Alex. Not him.

The realization struck him like a gut punch.

"…Why?" he muttered, half to himself.

Why weren't they following him?

They were the same. All Spider-Men. All fighting the same battle.

And Alex? He wasn't even one of them. He wasn't part of the Spider-Verse.

He was an outsider.

So why the hell were they trusting him?

What kind of hold did this man have over them?

What had he done to earn their faith?

Captain Universe Spider-Man stood frozen—confused, frustrated, and, for the first time in a long time… unsure.

And Alex Ray?

He said nothing.

He didn't need to.
