Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 Churail

Bijay is studying archeology. After admitted to the university he chooses this subject as his major. He always enjoyed listening folktales. After hearing the tale he always askes verious question about the story. He always felt attracted towards old things. Be it real or not. From a young age he had read many old books. If he finds anything from centuries ago even if it was mentioned on a book or story, he always tries to find more information about it.

When he was in high school, he learned about many kings and queens, their kingdom and their history. Everytime he got to know about the past history he became even more curious about history. When he was in university, his curiosity about anything from centuries ago became his obsession. It didn't stopped on written history, real thing. His curiosity now was on things that even logic could not explain.

His taste didn't shift at once. There's a story behind this. He went to visit his uncle's home on vacation. He went there after hearing that there's a very old temple near his uncle's home. It might be centuries old. As no one knew who made that temple. And that temple was the epicentre of many stories and even rumours. People from nearby areas does not go near the temple. As there is a rumour that a churail lives in there. After hearing that from his cousin Bijay decided to go to his uncle's home on his next vacation. He shares this story with some of his friend when they asks where he was going on vacation. After learning about the temple and the rumours around it Binod and Jay also experss their desire to go there. Bijay, Binod and Jay then decides to go there togather on their vacation.

Days passed in a blink. Their vacation starts. The three friends were excited to know more about the temple. After their arrival in Bijay's uncle's home they started their investigation. They started to collect information about it. Bijay's cousin was also with them. His name is Vash. Vash knew about their intention quite well. He also admired his cousin for his hard working nature. So Vash tried his best to assist them on their research. Bijay, Binod and Jay came here with another goal. They wanted to research and publish a detailed report paper about this temple. So all four of them first started with collecting information. They went to almost everyone on the village and nearby other villages for the collection of detailed information. The more detailed information the better it is for their research. This went on for a few days. After collecting enough information they decided to go up the hill and look around the temple. Their intention was to learn about the origin of the temple and their hidden agenda was to find out the more about the Churail. The very thing, the villagers feared. They wanted to uncover more story hidden behind the feared vail.

So, one morning they decided to go to the temple. His uncle only let them go after they promised to come back before sunset. After that all four of them set to go there. After reaching the temple the very first thing they did was, they started to research the temple deeply. Every nook and cranny was being examined by them. They were busy the hole day but could not finish covering the hole place. As the sun was setting they came home. His uncle was waiting for them. Seeing they came before sunset he was happy. After washing up they all sat with his uncle.

"How was your day? Did you finish your research? " uncle asked.

"No. We need to go up there for a few more days, I think." Bijay said.

"That place is huge. We didn't finish examine the hole place." said Binod.

Hearing them saying that uncle became a little tensed. He didn't want them to go up there more at all. As every one avoided going there. Some people would go there during day but they were all natives and Bijay and his friends came from outside. So if anything happened to them after going back, they won't even know about the cause. So he told them to finish their research as soon as possible.

In a few days they finished their research. On the last day after finishing their research all of them sat near the temple to take rest. There was still a few hours before sunset. So they just sat there and started enjoying the afternoon. They were talking about their findings about the temple. As all of them were fanatics about history, they talked about their findings excitedly. While talking they forgot about passing time, when they were engross in the topic they suddenly heard a female voice laughing. Hearing the laugh they were startled. As they looked towards the source of it they saw a lady not far from them looking at them and smiling. They were a stunned as they looked towards her. As they heard about the rumours of churail. People rarely comes near the temple and women always avoided this place like a plague.

The lady looked towards them and smiled silently. She looked so calm and silent that they forgot where they was. She was examining them with her calm eyes. And just like her Bijay and his group was also examining her. As they were looking at her as if they trying to find why she was smiling at them the lady let out another small laugh toward them. This time Bijay and his friends face became a little dark. Just as they were ready to ask why she was laughing she asked them first, "What are you all doing here? Don't you know, a vecious churail lives her?"

Bijay and his group became stunned after hearing that. They totally forgot that. Seeing their stunned faces the lady smiled at them. She looked at them as if she wanted to say something but hesitating.

Looking at her hesitant Bijay said,"Would you like to sit with us?"

Hearing this unexpected invitation she stopped for a few second and smilingly came and sat near them. After sitting down she saw Bijay giving her the food box. As she looked up Bijay asked, "Who are you?"

Just as she was about to answer Jay launched a barrel of question, "Where are you from? What are you doing here? Don't you know it's not safe for a young lady to come up here? Don't you have any self awareness at all?"

Jay was about to ask more question but Binod stopped him. He said to her, "Don't mind him, he is worried about your safety. He has a sister and he likes to nag her at every chance he gets."

"Not only his own sister he does the same with his cousin and also our female classmates." said Bijay as he tried to make things clear. Questioning an unknown lady and making her think they were some freaks was the last things he wants to do. "He always thinks that he is the elder brother of any girls he sees. And his biggest role is to make them aware of the risks around them. So please don't take them to heart." he said.

Hearing that she looked towards Jay a little complicatedly and asked, "Why are you so anxious about my safety? You don't even know me."

Jay said, "Every girl in problem is my sister. So as a big brother it's my responsibility to help them to fight their problem. "

Binod said to Jay, " She is married idiot. You should call her elder sister. "

Hearing them talking her look became soft. As if she was trying to integrate herself with them. Nobody noticed this. After bickering with Jay Binod started to look at her closely. She noticed it but said nothing. After a while Binod asked her, "You didn't answer our questions. What are you doing here this time alone?"

She smiled and said, "I just came to see who were brave enough to come here repeatedly this few days."

Bijay signed her to eat the snacks the brought from home and asked, "Where do you live?"

She said, "In a nearby village. "

Hearing that Jay suddenly asked, "How old are you?"

She was a little stunned. She asked, "Why do you ask that? How old do you think I am."

Jay started examining her closely and said, "You looks like about twenty years old and married." After saying that he realised something and stopped talking. Everyone looked towards him curiously as to know why he stopped. And Jay started to ask with a tone that sound like he couldn't make himself belive something.

"You are married at such a young age? Did your family forced you to get married. Why did you even got married just because your family told you to do so. You should have complained to the police. " As he was engrossed in his passioned questioning others started to apology on his behalf.
