Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Gu Yue, Without Na

Deep in the forest, beside a beautiful lake, seven-colored lights illuminated the nearby trees, casting a radiant glow on everything around.

As the distance closed, a surprising sight appeared.

The source of the seven-colored light was not an object but a living person — a little girl who looked about six years old!

At this moment, the girl was fast asleep, a faint smile playing at the corners of her mouth, as if dreaming a sweet dream. The glowing aura around her blended perfectly with the environment, forming a beautiful picture.

But this beauty shattered in the next second!

The girl's brow furrowed first, then the smile on her lips vanished. Her previously joyful expression shifted abruptly, growing more severe by the second.

In less than ten seconds, the seven-colored light surrounding her became unstable, rippling like a stormy sea, seeming ready to explode at any moment.

Sure enough, the girl's eyes suddenly snapped open as she sat upright, and the seven-colored light burst out like a shockwave.

"Is she... dead?"

Disbelief was written all over the girl's face, as if something impossible was unfolding before her eyes.

"How could this be? She was my other half!"

"Even the strongest humans couldn't have destroyed her without a trace!"

This girl's identity was extraordinary. Though she appeared as a six-year-old child, her true nature was terrifying!

She was Gu Yue Na, the Silver Dragon King, the Dragon God's other half, the Sovereign of Soul Beasts. Because soul beasts on the Douluo Continent were nearing extinction, she was forced to make a final decision: since humans destroyed the world of soul beasts, Gu Yue Na could in turn destroy humanity!

However, the Silver Dragon King had slept for too long and knew nothing of the outside world. To fundamentally destroy humanity, she chose to incarnate as a human, to understand humans first, then strike from within!

Unexpectedly, when she incarnated, her form split into two bodies representing the soul beast consciousness and the human consciousness. The primary persona was Gu Yue; the subordinate was Na'er. But Na'er was accidentally lost during the splitting.

Gu Yue wasn't too worried about this. Although Na'er only possessed 30% of the Silver Dragon King's power, she was not so weak that any ordinary Title Douluo could easily kill her. So Gu Yue felt free to recuperate.

Yet, this belief was just shattered!

Cough cough—!

A streak of blood was spat out by Gu Yue. Despite her angry expression, her face was deathly pale. Gu Yue was the Silver Dragon King's other half — she could hardly get sick. The only explanation was backlash.

"Humans... humans..."

"Damn humans!"

Even with her delicate appearance, Gu Yue's expression twisted completely. As Sovereign of Soul Beasts, Gu Yue Na's perception of humans was naturally very poor, in fact, outright hostile.

Gu Yue herself inherited the soul beast portion of Gu Yue Na's spirit, so her feelings towards humans hadn't changed. It was only because of Na'er — the part friendly to humans — that she hadn't acted too recklessly.

But with Na'er gone for good, Gu Yue had no such restraint. Plus, having lost part of her essence, her hatred for humans only deepened.

"What to do?"

Hatred aside, after regaining her composure, Gu Yue's heart was tinged with confusion.

Na'er was just an ordinary person, yet held 30% of the Silver Dragon King's power. Even if she died, it should not have been without effect, but Na'er vanished without a trace, and the backlash struck Gu Yue instead.

"Do humans already have such overwhelming power?"

Reluctant as she was to admit it, Gu Yue sensed it: in the past 20,000 years, the number of soul beasts had drastically declined. She hadn't expected humans to acquire such strength so quickly.

"This won't do. At this rate, even I cannot save the remaining soul beasts... Destroying humanity is a hopeless fantasy!"

Gu Yue wiped the blood from her mouth, her expression darkening, her mind racing to decide her next move.

Since even Na'er, with 30% of the Silver Dragon King's power, could be so easily dealt with — without any warning — it meant humanity's power now far surpassed her own.

If she exposed herself openly to humans, Gu Yue didn't know what fate awaited her, but it certainly wouldn't be better than Na'er's.

"I should never have trusted humans!"

In Gu Yue's eyes, Na'er's decision to trust humans was clearly a mistake. After much consideration, Gu Yue's plan changed.

Of course, understanding humans remained necessary — only by knowing the enemy's weaknesses could she truly destroy them.

But Gu Yue would not follow the original plan to enroll in a human academy. She did not know Tang Wulin, nor did she need to fulfill any wager with Na'er.

Though the Silver Dragon King's overall power weakened, and even Gu Yue Na's spirit might never return, Gu Yue was now stronger than ever — without romantic distractions, without mercy for humans, without any worries or regrets!

She only needed to devote herself fully to the plan to destroy humanity, without worrying about the feelings of others as before.

"Di Tian!"

At Gu Yue's call, a dark beam of light shot from the depths of the forest and quickly arrived before her.

"What orders, my lord?"

A man with black hair and golden eyes knelt partly before Gu Yue, his expression filled with respect. His identity was obvious.

The Beast God Di Tian!

But compared to the Silver Dragon King — Sovereign of Soul Beasts and Dragon God's other half — this so-called Beast God was insignificant.

"Di Tian, contact that fish!"

"Our situation is urgent. We must gather every available power!"

Hearing Gu Yue's words, Di Tian looked up sharply, shocked by her decision.

"But my lord… that one is untrustworthy..." Though glad about her change, Di Tian still offered caution.

"I know that well enough!"

Gu Yue's face was cold and emotionless. Even Di Tian could not imagine what she had endured to become like this.

"She will definitely try to act against us — but not yet."

"Her husband was killed by humans, wasn't he? I only trust her hatred for humans. So at least until humanity grows weak, she will cooperate with us!"
