Takuya dropped into a perfect one-handed push-up position, the massive boulder resting on his back barely making him strain.
Each time his muscles burned with exhaustion, a faint blue glow shimmered across his skin as his Overhaul ability instantly repaired the fatigue.
"Tch. That's cheating," Zoro commented, watching from nearby where he balanced all three swords on his head while doing handstand push-ups.
Takuya grinned through gritted teeth. "Call it... efficient training. I don't have time to build muscles naturally and a drug dealer never takes his own drugs, so I used my power to get more output." He lowered himself until his nose nearly touched the dirt, then pushed up explosively. The boulder didn't even wobble.
Nearby, Luffy had somehow stacked three boulders together and was attempting to lift them all. "GYAAAAH! I'LL... BEAT... YOU... TAKUYA!" His arms stretched comically as the weight pulled him in all directions. A passing stegosaurus paused to watch curiously, its spiked tail swaying gently like a metronome.
Mira "helped" by kneeling beside Takuya, deliberately fanning him with her lifted skirt. The lacy black lingerie beneath was clearly visible each time the fabric fluttered.
"Master~ You're working so hard~" she purred, leaning forward just enough to give him a perfect view down her corset.
Takuya's push-up faltered for just a second before he growled. "Mira... you're distracting me on purpose."
"Ehehe~ Is it working?" She batted her eyelashes innocently.
Sanji came flying in with a furious kick, sending a curious raptor tumbling away. "DAMN DINOSAURS! STOP TRYING TO EAT US!"
He paused mid-air when he spotted Mira's display, promptly crashing face-first into a tree. "W-WORTH IT..." With a nosebleed and a thumbs up.
From the safety of a nearby bush, Usopp trembled. "T-They're all monsters..." he whispered.
"Should we be hiding too?" Vivi asked nervously, already halfway into the bush with them.
Nami sighed, massaging her temples. "This is the dumbest training I've ever seen."
Meanwhile, the nearby dinosaurs had gradually gathered around the spectacle, their predatory instincts momentarily forgotten. A pack of raptors perched on a fallen log, their heads tilting in unison as they watched Takuya and Luffy strain against their respective boulders. One of them let out a low, curious chirp, as if critiquing their form.
A massive triceratops lumbered closer, its heavy footsteps shaking the ground. It huffed, steam puffing from its nostrils, and settled down like an audience member at a wrestling match. Its beady eyes flicked between the two competitors, as if trying to decide who to root for.
Even the stegosaurus that had been idly observing earlier now fully turned its attention to the contest, while a few smaller herbivores—ankylosaurs and parasaurolophuses—peeked out from behind trees, their usual skittishness overridden by sheer curiosity.
The scene quickly devolved into something resembling a bizarre prehistoric sports match. The raptors, surprisingly organized, split into two factions—one group hopping and screeching in favor of Takuya, their clawed hands (well, mostly hands) waving excitedly as he powered through his push-ups.
One particularly enthusiastic raptor even snatched a large leaf and started waving it like a flag, letting out a sharp cry of "SKREE-KYAA!"—which, in dinosaur, probably translated to "GO STRANGE MUSCLE HUMAN!"
On the other side, the triceratops and a few of the smaller herbivores had formed Team Luffy, stomping their feet in rhythm with his struggles.
The stegosaurus swung its spiked tail like a pendulum, THUMP-THUMP-THUMP, creating an impromptu drumbeat. A parasaurolophus let out a long, echoing honk—clearly the dinosaur equivalent of a vuvuzela.
One of the raptors from Team Takuya got too excited and tried to mimic his push-ups again, only to faceplant into the dirt. Its comrades hissed in disapproval, nudging it back up with their snouts like disappointed coaches.
Meanwhile, the triceratops on Team Luffy snorted aggressively when Takuya managed an especially explosive rep, as if personally offended.
A tiny compsognathus (because of course there was a compy here) had climbed onto the triceratops's head and was jumping up and down, squeaking what sounded like "LUH-FEE! LUH-FEE!"
Sanji, still half-dazed from his earlier crash, blinked at the surreal sight. "Are they... placing bets?!"
Usopp, now peeking out from the bush with wide eyes, whispered, "I think that one raptor just traded a shiny rock for Luffy's victory..."
Nami facepalmed. "This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. And I thought Luffy trying to arm-wrestle a sea king was stupid."
Mira, delighted by the chaos, clapped her hands. "Master~ You've got a fanclub! Should I start selling merchandise?"
Takuya, veins bulging as he fought to keep his rhythm, gritted out, "Mira... shut up... and stop... encouraging them!"
Luffy, meanwhile, was thrilled. "YEAH! CHEER LOUDER! I'M GONNA WIN!" His arms quivered violently, the boulders groaning ominously—but his grin never wavered.
And then, from the back of the crowd, a lone, grizzled old T-Rex let out a mighty ROAR, silencing the others. It stomped forward, its yellow eyes locked onto the competitors...
...before raising one stubby arm and pointing decisively at Luffy, clearly declaring its allegiance.
Team Luffy erupted into deafening roars, honks, and stomps.
Takuya's eye twitched. "Oh, come ON—"
And then the ground shook.
Something even bigger was coming.
The dinosaurs froze.
Luffy laughed.
Nami sighed. "We're all going to die."
Just then, a distant roar echoed through the jungle. The gathered dinosaurs perked up, their heads snapping toward the sound. A shadow loomed over the treetops—something big was approaching.
Luffy, still straining, grinned wildly. "HEY! Maybe that one wants to join too!"
Takuya didn't stop his push-ups, but his eye twitched in irritation. "Of course it does."
The dinosaurs, now thoroughly invested, didn't even scatter. If anything, they seemed excited for the new contender.
The distant roar grew louder, shaking the very air as the trees at the edge of the clearing trembled.
Then, with a thunderous CRASH, an enormous figure burst through the foliage—a massive Giganotosaurus, its dark, mottled hide scarred from countless battles, its golden eyes gleaming with intelligence.
The gathered dinosaurs immediately parted, some bowing their heads in respect, others letting out low, wary calls.
The grizzled old T-Rex who had backed Luffy narrowed its eyes but didn't challenge the newcomer—this was a beast that commanded fear.
The Giganotosaurus stomped forward, its heavy footfalls making the ground quake. It stopped just behind Takuya, looming over him like a living mountain.
Then, with deliberate slowness, it lowered its head and let out a deep, rumbling "HRRRRRNNGGG"—clearly a cheer of encouragement.
Takuya, still mid-push-up, glanced up and smirked through gritted teeth. "Hah! Finally, someone with taste!"
Luffy gasped dramatically. "TRAITOR!" he yelled at the Giganotosaurus, as if he was personally betrayed. The giant predator simply snorted, unimpressed.
The crowd was now split—raptors, compies, and the old T-Rex on Luffy's side, while triceratops, ankylosaurs, and now the Giganotosaurus backed Takuya.
The jungle itself seemed to hold its breath as the two warriors pushed their limits, the boulders above them groaning under the strain.
Luffy's arms trembled violently, his face red with effort, but his grin never faded. "I... WON'T... LOSE!" he roared, veins bulging as he forced himself to keep going.
Takuya, meanwhile, was a machine—his movements precise, his breathing controlled, but sweat poured down his face as fatigue gnawed at him. "You... talk... too much..." he growled.
Then—CRACK!
Both boulders split at the same time, chunks of rock crashing to the ground as Luffy and Takuya collapsed onto their backs, panting heavily.
Silence.
The dinosaurs stared.
Then—chaos.
The raptors screeched, the triceratops bellowed, the Giganotosaurus let out a triumphant roar—nobody could agree on who had won.
Some dinosaurs started arguing, shoving each other, while others just looked confused. The compy from earlier stood on the old T-Rex's head, waving its tiny arms like it was demanding a recount.
Nami pinched the bridge of her nose. "So... it's a draw. Of course it is."
Usopp wiped his brow. "I'm just glad we're all alive."
Sanji lit a cigarette, exhaling slowly. "Idiots. Both of them."
Mira giggled, already sketching designs in a notebook. "Dino-themed merch is gonna sell SO well~"
Luffy, still lying on the ground, burst into laughter. "THAT WAS AWESOME! LET'S DO IT AGAIN!"
Takuya groaned, throwing an arm over his face. "Next... Time…. I'm…. Gonna… Win…. For…. Sure. "
And then—another roar.
But this one was different.
Deeper.
Older.
The dinosaurs froze, their heads snapping toward the treeline. Even the Giganotosaurus stiffened, its eyes widening slightly.
A pair of glowing, ancient eyes peered from the shadows.
Something maybe even older than time was watching, however none of the straw hats noticed it.
Luffy sat up, grinning. "Nope! I'm going to beat you next time!" Said Luffy proudly as he huffed in excitement.
Zoro finishing his own workout, wiped sweat from his brow, looking mildly impressed. "Not bad. For a beginner."
Luffy bounced over, somehow still full of energy despite having spent half the training chasing dinosaurs. "SHISHISHI! THAT WAS AWESOME! ZORO! WHAT'S NEXT?!"
Zoro smirked and pointed to a nearby volcanic mountain. "Tomorrow: endurance running. Up there and back before breakfast."
Takuya cracked his neck. "Bring it on."
Mira clapped her hands excitedly. "I'll make sure Master stays... motivated~" Her fingers trailed suggestively along Takuya's sweaty forearm.
Nami groaned. "That's enough nonsense for today, I need rest."
Usopp whimpered. "And I need a new crew."
Vivi smiled. "You really pushed yourself." Said Vivi as she started getting used to the absurdity of the crew.
Takuya grinned. "Just the beginning. Tomorrow, we go harder."
Zoro smirked. "Now you're talking like a real swordsman."
