While the young soon to be cultivators were chatting, they unknowingly arrived at a large hall about two thirds up the mountain.
Elder He took them down the sword, then introduced "This is the Sutra Hall. Here, you can get all cultivation arts, techniques, spells, and other written inheritance.
As core disciples, you can freely choose a cultivation art, two techniques and three spells.
Inner disciples only get one of each technique and spell, while outer disciples only get the cultivation art.
There are more privileges to being a core disciple, but this will come later.
For now, you can enter the sutra hall and choose what you want.
You don't have to take all the things now, you can come at any time."
The boys and girls all looked excited, but they walked calmly.
Inside, Yugong saw a scene he hadn't seen anywhere – jade slips were hovering in the sky, forming a net from spiritual power.
It looks like the starry sky with different star signs aligned together.
Words were visible when one looked at the net for long enough.
They described the content of each net - such as Sword Techniques, Movement Techiques, and so on.
The ceiling was extremely high, it impossible for the current Yugong to see it.
On the side, an elder sat by a table, looking at a jade slip like reading a book.
His posture was straight, and his eyes told journeys unimaginable.
Yugong could only barely make out the man had an old face before he couldn't look anymore.
The elder looked at the children, then at Elder He and said, "Is this another batch, junior brother?"
"It is indeed so, elder brother! They just arrived now. Haha, this batch is pretty interesting!" he said, looking teasingly at Yugong, Yiye and Lingyue.
The latter two seemed oblivious to this.
Nodding, the elder looked back to the children and introduced "This is the core sutra hall, where only core disciples and elders have access to.
Any and all inheritance will be available here.
You can move around and look at the jade slips from afar, if you like something, just call out its name."
The kids nodded and moved around, curious about things.
Yugong saw Yiye following him, making him shake his head disapprovingly "Why do you follow me? Go and take what you want, then wait for me outside."
Yiye nodded, then left casually.
Lingyue on the other hand had already bid farewell to the two the moment they were set free.
'Tyrannical sword, fast sword, molten sword…' Yugong kept finding sword techniques.
He didn't want to look for them, so instead, he called out "Cultivation arts".
The moment he did so, there was indeed a change in the pattern and several jade slips descended.
Soon, there were too many for him, so he called out again "highest level".
Since he didn't know what the stages were called, he just said the most simple thing he could think of.
There was a reaction and five jade slips remained, the others flying back into the sky.
Yugong saw someone close to him do the same, and the identical jade slips appeared in front of them.
He understood the jade slips were just holographic images and not real entities, but with his strength, he couldn't find the difference between real and fake.
'Sword Heart Art, Sword Spirit Art, Sword Mind Art, Five Elements Art, Myriad Intent Art.'
Looking at these, one could see the focus of the sect once more.
Still, he checked them out.
He simply had to touch them for a screen to open up with a description.
There was no such thing as putting it on his forehead – at least at this stage and in this situation.
'The sword heart is a body cultivation art where one refines one's own body to become a sword.
Sword Spirit forms a separate spirit body which one can insert into their sword, achieving the effect of having supreme control over their sword.
It's a good technique if one specialises in sword harmony.
Lastly, Sword Mind Art focuses on cultivating the will of a cultivator to be that of a sword, where they can attack with a simple thought.'
A few things were incomprehensible, so he just said it but didn't lookt into the explanation just yet.
Yugong looked at this and understood 'It seems the Great Sword Sect doesn't follow the path of having swords but the path of becoming a sword itself…
Well, maybe this is the weapon path, to become a living weapon.
In fact, having a sword on top of the cultivation will probably achieve the effect of one plus one being more than two.
A sword body means you can carry a heavy sword, a sword spirit allows one to carry a flying sword, and a sword mind will be more conductive when using a sword gourd.'
His knowledge mainly came from his past life's reading experience and guesses based on the few knowledge points he saw in the introduction.
Then, he moved away and checked out the other two.
'The five elements art is a common spiritual dharma art, which also leads all the way… I wonder how long this 'all the way' is…'
'As for this myriad intent cultivation art… it should be the common art for the weapon dharma cultivators.'
Yugong read the last art in depth and saw that this art enhanced the cultivators comprehension of the weapon dharma and allowed him to quickly understand the weapon intent.
But, when he read on, he saw that this cultivation art had a note by an ancestor.
[This cultivation art is suitable for learning myriad weapon dharmas, not to specialise in a single weapon. Its cultivation only progresses with the number of intents, not with its quality. Every intent comprehended with this arts help is flawed and cannot progress further.]
'This… is it bad?' he asked himself.
He wanted to cultivate this art, for no other reason than that it was the most suitable for him among all the other arts.
Thinking of this, his mind wandered.
He didn't know why, but somehow, he had an instinct that he could use this art very well.
Unfortunately, there was nothing more than a subtle feeling.
'My feelings have saved me many times during the hunts, so I shall follow you once more!'
After he said this, he walked back.
This art wasn't yet available to him, he had to tell his elders about his choice to get it.
At the table, the Sutra Elder and Elder He were chatting until they saw the boy they just talked about come to them.
"Found something you fancy?" Elder He asked, doubtful about this.
"We might not have a bow cultivation art, but we have a few general ones…" he repeated what he said before, worried the boy came back to complain.
"The sect's heritage is supreme! I have already found the cultivation art I want."
"Is that so?" the Sutra Elder took over "Well, tell me and I will register it under your identity jade."
"The Myriad Intent Cultivation Art."
"That one?" Elder He asked once more doubtful.
Yugong thought about it and was direct "My feeling tells me that this one will be suitable."
He didn't have a better reason nor a good excuse, so the truth was the best option.
"Following your own feeling is indeed the best choice. The worst case is that you really can't cultivate.
When that happens, just come back and I will arrange you another art. That one will of course only be loaned, not gifted."
The Sutra Elder approved of this method and directly made a promise within his abilities.
Yugong bowed deeply once more, with no words spoken.
He thought about it since last time, but he didn't find any words he could speak when doing such acts, so rather, it was better to bow deeply.
