Chapter 419 - Chapter 419: Recent Activities

After hearing this, everyone burst into laughter. They understood what Constantine meant.

Clark—Superman—should be the strongest among them. After all, when the Kryptonians invaded Earth, only Superman and Marcus had been in the world to fight them.

Although Bruce and Selina had joined the battle later, their strength had been granted by Marcus.

Now that they had Clark in their team, everyone felt considerably more relaxed.

With this super-powered ally, even if they encountered equally powerful demon servants, they could delay as long as possible until Clark arrived.

After introducing everyone to the demons, Constantine returned control to Bruce.

"It seems everyone understands the demon situation. From now on, we'll unite to face the demons invading the human world!"

Looking at the people on screen, then at Bruce before her, Diana nodded gently.

Although she didn't know the others very well, she still knew Superman. After all, the world engine had affected not only Metropolis but the entire globe.

As for demon servants, while Diana couldn't defeat them easily, it wouldn't be too difficult either.

As Zeus's daughter, her strength was formidable—many people couldn't compare with her.

However, over the years, she'd met some people who could compete with her.

At the wishing stone incident, her friend had made a wish and eventually became a real cheetah woman whose strength couldn't be underestimated.

Before that, she'd also met a man who was very strong—at least the strength he'd shown wasn't inferior to hers.

She'd been quite impressed with that man. If she used herself as a benchmark, only a few people could compete with these so-called demon servants.

Unless more people from her homeland Paradise Island came out, it would be very difficult to match those demon servants.

This meeting gave everyone better understanding of both the demons and their teammates. Especially Oliver, Green Arrow of Star City—among these people, his strength was probably the lowest.

This wasn't to say his combat ability was poor. As a sharpshooter, he had magical shooting skills and various superb fighting techniques.

However, these might not work well when facing demons. Even using the Incinerator Ring's power, he wasn't as skilled as the others. After all, he was just an "ordinary man."

"Everyone, this is our first operation. We may encounter more difficulties in the future, but right now we must defeat all demons before they spread, and even find the mastermind behind this."

Hearing this, everyone on screen nodded in unison. They all understood what was at stake—they were fighting for their homes and their future.

In the end, Diana chose to join, which made Bruce breathe easier.

He didn't know exactly how strong Diana was, but he'd sparred with her for a few exchanges, which gave him some understanding of her capabilities.

As an Amazon, Diana possessed strength far beyond humans. Whether physical fitness or combat skills, it wasn't something ordinary people could compete with.

Even he, who'd mastered various combat styles, had to be cautious when facing Diana.

"Then, I'll leave it to you. Don't let the demons enter the human world!"

"Those sinister creatures? They'll never escape from me," Diana replied with a smile.

She didn't accept the Incinerator Ring Bruce offered. As a descendant of the gods, she didn't need so-called heavenly power to defeat demons.

After saying goodbye to Diana, Bruce returned to Gotham.

Now, all the powerful individuals he could find had joined. Although they didn't know where the people summoning demons were, they finally had enough power to fight against that organization.

Back in Gotham

"Master, the Incinerator Lanterns have all been distributed!" Alfred reported.

These past days, Alfred had been busy with this task. Almost all churches around the world had hung up these lanterns.

Of course, to get churches to hang the Incinerator Lanterns, the Wayne Group had spent considerable money. But doing so had won them excellent reputation.

Clergy worldwide knew the Wayne Group had been particularly keen on charity recently. Not only did they donate money, but they'd also sent churches very gorgeous-looking lanterns.

Because of the donations, churches had begun renovating. Many had transformed from their original dim appearance to bright and beautiful again.

"All distributed? No wonder I've felt something unpredictable these past few days," Bruce mused.

Through years of practice, Bruce knew his own strength very well. Even when using the Incinerator Ring's power, he knew his limits.

But lately, he'd felt he couldn't fully control the ring's power, which had been quite frustrating.

After hearing Alfred's report, though, he understood the reason.

The Incinerator Lanterns were all distributed, which meant there was a constant flow of prayers being transformed into wishes and gathered into the Covenant Incinerator through the lanterns.

As Incinerator Ring users, their own strength had significantly improved.

"It's not enough. The demon servants discovered recently are all very strong. Although our strength has increased considerably, we still can't fight those demons head-on," Bruce said thoughtfully.

He understood his current strength wasn't sufficient to battle demon servants directly.

Especially lately, the demon servants they'd found kept getting stronger. Their current power wasn't comparable to those demons.

"Yes, Master. With our current strength, we can't even compete with the demon servant Miss Diana killed five days ago!" Alfred agreed wholeheartedly.

Their strength had indeed improved greatly, but compared to the demons, their improvement seemed insignificant.

They'd seen Diana's demon fight through certain special channels.

Diana in the video was very different from when she'd met Bruce—she'd been dressed similarly to the black and white photo.

They'd watched Diana holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other, battling a rock-like demon.

The demon's body was so tough that even heavy weapons could hardly leave marks on it. But before Diana's weapons, it seemed so fragile.

Diana's longsword had burned with fierce flames, leaving scars on the rock demon's body. Her shield had easily blocked all the demon's attacks.

What they'd witnessed wasn't a battle of equals, but Diana completely suppressing the demon.

Although it wasn't as easy as when Clark dealt with demons, it wasn't difficult at all. This made them understand how strong Diana truly was.

Of course, besides the demons Diana and Clark had handled, another person had also encountered a demon—Barry, The Flash.

To find demons and prevent them from wreaking havoc worldwide, Barry didn't just patrol Central City. He'd ventured further, visiting other cities around Central City.

Because of this, he'd found a demon about to attack humans.

Although this demon wasn't a demon servant, its strange abilities had given Barry considerable trouble in battle.

The demon had the ability to travel through shadows, which greatly restricted Barry during combat.

It could travel through shadows—it might enter a tree's shadow one second and jump out from the shadow behind him the next.

If not for Barry's quick reactions, he might have fallen to the demon.

In the end, Barry had pinned the demon in the shadows to the ground with an electric spear formed by fusing heavenly power and lightning.

It had to be said, heavenly power's restraining effect on demons was particularly significant.

After the electric spear nailed the demon down, no matter how it struggled, it couldn't rush out of the shadow, let alone merge into other shadows.

Finally, after Barry drew Constantine's exorcism circle, the demon was sent back to Hell.

This was Barry's first time facing a demon alone, and it made others understand demons' danger. Oliver, Green Arrow of Star City, was one of them.

Originally, Oliver had planned to merge heavenly power into his arrows to completely eliminate demons.

But after learning about Barry's battle, he'd chosen to create new equipment to face those demons.

His new gear was almost entirely coated with silver, which gave him significant improvement when releasing the Incinerator Ring's power. At least it provided very strong protective effects.

Although he hadn't encountered a second demon yet, this protection would definitely be enough for him to withstand demon servant attacks until others arrived to support him.

Thinking back on this, Bruce also breathed a sigh of relief.

Although their team had just formed, everyone's strength had improved to some extent. Facing ordinary demons, they could basically handle them alone without asking for help.

As for demon servants, while they didn't have perfect solutions, they weren't in too much difficulty. As long as they could withstand demon servant attacks, support would come.

Thinking of this, Bruce couldn't help but smile.

Their strength was increasing. One day they'd be able to easily deal with these demon servants.

However, Diana's weapons and equipment had caught his attention.

His and Selina's weapons were stronger than ordinary ones because Marcus had given them their weapons. But Diana's weren't like that. Such a sharp sword and solid round shield interested him greatly.

"Alfred, have you found any clues about Diana's weapons and equipment?"

"I did find some information, but I think Miss Diana's weapons are special. Though she herself is truly powerful," Alfred said.

He still took out some documents and handed them to Bruce.

This was information about Diana's weapons and equipment. Currently, he'd only found information about her sword and shield.

"Miss Diana's weapons and equipment are all antiques—antiques excavated in recent decades!"

This was quite incredible. When Alfred learned this news, he'd been surprised.

He couldn't imagine that antique weapons possessed such powerful capability—breaking rocks and steel as easily as slicing through water.

Although the weapons had historical significance, that didn't mean they could have such performance.

If the weapons really had such power, then historically, their owners would've achieved far greater accomplishments. They would've become stronger and conquered more territory.

"I understand. But they must be special to exert such powerful force in her hands," Bruce concluded.

If the weapons weren't special, Diana would never use such equipment. She'd build stronger gear instead. After all, modern forging technology was more advanced than the past.

The two were chatting when Selina suddenly walked in.

After living here so long, Selina returned to Wayne Manor as if returning home—even more relaxed and comfortable than her actual home.

"I have good news, and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?" Selina smiled at them both.

"Good news. Let me keep my good mood a little longer," Bruce said slowly.

His words made Selina laugh, but she didn't delay. She began explaining.

She'd found a group of suspicious people in another city—a group specializing in human trafficking.

The reason she'd paid attention to them was because she'd always hated human traffickers. She'd originally planned to take these people down, but then she'd sensed demonic energy on them.

She was certain these people weren't demons themselves, but having demonic energy meant they were connected to demons.

After tracking them, Selina had reached these people's hideout and found their prisoners—a group of underage girls.

They'd all been captured by these people, but not for trafficking. They were being used as sacrifices.

Selina had heard with her own ears that these people planned to kill all these girls after kidnapping one more and turn them into sacrifices.

Considering the demonic energy on them, what these people intended to do was obvious.

"You mean those people are the culprits summoning demons?" Bruce frowned.

"Yes, I'm certain it's them," Selina said firmly.

After a moment of silence, Bruce's voice sounded again.

"So... what's the bad news?"

Selina smiled and pointed at the clock beside her. "The bad news is that they've captured the last girl, and the summoning will start in an hour!"
