A doorbell rang. Who would ring the bell at this moment. Dianne wondered. She grabbed her strength pressed on the interphone. Elena was there standing in front, someone also beside her. "Can we come in" Elena asked through the intercom.
Elena and Pierre came in, they had guacamole, and tacos. "Hungry?" Elena raised, "Dianne, what happened?" Elena asked her, she might have spotted her tear. "Allow us to eat with you" Pierre asked politely. Dianne only nodded. Pierre told Elena to stay with Dianne while he was preparing the meal. Tacos and guacamole, Dianne favorite combination that Pierre knew from her profile. They bought them from a shop in the town. Pierre called the two women to sit and eat dinner. Pierre told Dianne to enjoy the meal. No words, no works related to them.
"Dianne," Elena called her. Dianne turned to the voice, her face in question.
"How is the dinner?" Elena asked her. A normal conversation. She barely touched the dinner even though they were her favorite. "It's okay…thanks" Dianne answered with a low voice. She still felt awkward from many moments going on. "I told you to buy her Kibbling" Elena strengthened her voice while complaining to Pierre who sat in front of them. Pierre eyebrows lifted up per Elena's complaint.
"Kibbling is your favorite isn't it?" Pierre asked her back. It is Dianne's first time seeing Pierre have an argument against someone. Usually, he remained calm, steady, deep, full of mystery. "Sorry, Dianne, the dinner is not good, isn't it?" Elena said, "It is from a new Mexican shop in the town, Pierre thought you might want to try" Elena continued and pointed to Pierre. He is smiling. Dianne shook her head. "They are alright. A little too spicy", Elena stared at Pierre, Pierre straight himself, "That's my fault" Pierre said, "He likes spicy food" Elena whispered to Dianne. Eyes opened wide as she first learnt Pierre's preference. Dianne smiled. "No worries, Pierre, Elena, let me cook you guacamole next time" Dianne, calm, smiled, said to both of them. "How do you know I like guacamole?" Pierre and Elena straightened up, Pierre coughing little, it was Elena who continued "I do not want to be rude, but I saw an avocado, and other guacamole ingredients in your fridge, when I dropped you last time" Elena explained. Dianne recalled the time during the welcome party, she fainted and Elena dropped her on the sofa. "You have got sharp eyes, Elena", Dianne teased her. Elena and Dianne then laughed together. Dianne felt much more relaxed than the moment before.
"Why come at this moment?" Dianne asked the two in a more relaxing tone. "Well, remembered this afternoon," Pierre opened. It was when we had lunch together and Pierre asked about Dianne's struggles. "I said, I would come to see your project the next day right?"Pierre continued. "I didn't mean to disturb you or cause you trouble or give you more pressure." Pierre continued boldly. "He just wanted to observe your work closely, Dianne, your project was something he was struggling with as well" Elena added. "You do not need that part, Elena," Pierre argued to her. Again, his expression calms her. "Actually, Freja asked him about the reduction of latency time as well but it was still slower than human perception" Elena continued. Pierre kept eating his tacos. Freja, asked for his advice on coding? – Dianne thought. That's why he can come up with the motion's generation algorithm – Dianne thought about her discussion with Pierre during lunch. " So, he did not mean to pressure you, Dianne, forgive him" Elena finished her explanation. It was true that Dianne felt some pressure when hearing Pierre and Elena would come and watch her project. But that was not the whole reason that made her cry and feel anxious. It was something else.
Pierre finished his taco first, stood up, and asked for a kettle. After a few minutes, the kettle screamed, Pierre took out three packs – Chocolate – written on it. He poured the boiled water into three mugs. Stream woven above mugs. He stirred it, until no crumb was visible. Then hand over two mugs to Dianne, and Elena. He took a sip showing that it contained no strange ingredients inside. The two had already done their dinner, and received those mugs containing hot chocolate.
"You need this, Dianne," he said. Dianne is a bit confused. "Dopamine, Serotonin, and sugar," he added. "The happiness combination," Elena added. Dianne had a sip little by little. Its sweetness, bitterness, and little bit of saltiness were perfectly balanced. They were in harmony. The warmth from the mug, not too hot to burn skin, slowly releases via the mug. "Dianne?" Pierre was asking. "Y..Yes?"Dianne replied. "Do you like it?" He asked about the taste of the chocolate. "Yes, I do. It is perfect. All tastes are balanced." Dianne replied calmly, while starting over her chocolate. "It is his secret recipe, he won't spit out any secret" Elena told Dianne. "You made this?" Dianne shook out her thoughts. "I cannot find a good powder in Granitz, so I decided to blend it by myself, coffee as well," he added. Dianne told Pierre and Elena that she was impressed. " You should tell us a secret," Elena teased him. "Even though I told you, it is still difficult to create it without a precise tool." Pierre talked, his expression is very calm, steady, chill. His presence somehow makes Dianne feel safe and secure. "A little miscalculation in the ratio will make the taste all entangled, and that powder will be a waste." Pierre continued. Entangled – Dianne struck by Pierre's word, " Quantum Entanglement", Dianne murmured. Elena and Pierre turned to her and looked at her, while she was murmuring. "Dianne?" Pierre and Elena asked. Dianne is straightened up, she felt her blood circulating faster, heartbeat much faster, she was excited. All the cloud, blurred, were blown away,
"Pierre, Elena" Dianne said with a big smile.
"This is it. Quantum Entanglement. This is what we need" Dianne stood up and shook Elena and Pierre's hands. A big smile that Dianne lost for this whole evening.
