The rising sun marked the beginning of a new day as the darkness faded away. We slept on the remaining mattresses salvaged from several houses here, while Abi volunteered to stay up and keep watch through the night.
Daisy once again slept peacefully in my arms. This time, she woke up several times from nightmares, but whenever I held her tightly, her sobs and fears gradually subsided, and she was able to sleep soundly once more. Watching her sleep so peacefully made my chest feel lighter, as if a significant burden had been lifted from her heart.
After breakfast, we finally decided it was time to part ways.
"Time really flies…" I whispered.
"Yeah… I feel sad having to part with Daisy," Key replied with a pout.
"Hey, we still have to report all of this first," Axxel interjected.
"Oh, right. You're correct," Key answered with a bittersweet smile.
"Don't worry, we'll definitely revisit you in Nuzantra's capital, right?" Axxel added.
